What's with the grim reviews on Yelp? The Millennium Buffalo was pretty solid as far as I could tell, but then, I was just staying there - no meetings, no pool, no restaurant for me. (Jim's across the street was more than sufficient!) Check-in was a little lackluster, but I can forgive that was we were arriving at around 1 in the morning. The woman who checked us in was polite enough, but a little too perfunctory - we could have done with some more information. First impression of the room was good, it was plenty large and the bed was comfortable, which was about all we cared about in the middle of the night. Next morning, we opened the curtains, and I have to say, all that sunlight was really lovely. Huge windows really brightened things up. It did show us some pretty significant dust, however. When we turned the fan on to cool the room, things really kicked up. Fortunately, it was a pretty mild day, so we did without. Gotta clean those ducts! While getting ready, I really appreciate the water - good pressure, and the hot was hot and cold was cold. The towels were kind of scratchy and I could hear the guy next door snoring, but now I'm just nitpicking (Oh, and - no actual bugs in this room, nits or otherwise. Whew!) One real highlight was the helpful staff when it came to transportation. Anne was tremendously helpful with setting up shuttle transportation (shout-out to Don, our hero!) and making sure I had two cab company phone numbers, as we were coming back from farther away. We also had the pleasure of checking out with her, which was an efficient and friendly experience. I'd definitely stay here again if I were back in the neighborhood. read more

Great budget airport hotel!! Staff was kind and friendly, rooms were big, albeit dated, the Buffet was amazing, it was very tasty and cheap for a unlimited buffet, the pool and garden area were well maintained, it is an amazing hotel for the price. It does need some refurb though, the rooms felt dated, yet they have tried to make it more modern, their were plenty of outlets and USB ports. The TV allowed you to log in with Hulu, Netflix, Crackle, YouTube and Pandora. I can't say enough nice things about the staff! They were funny, caring, accommodating, everything you want from Hotel staff, overall I recommend the Millennium Buffalo for its cheap prices, it's amazing staff and large rooms. read more

The Millennium is nice for a short stay or mini vacation, like we went on here in winter time. We stayed in a courtyard room, which was clean and spacious, and had a pretty view of the courtyard. The courtyard was also nice, but it had a lot of underutilized potential. It wasn't the cleanest area, it needed serious sprucing up, and the courtyard bar was not stocked or running. However, the live plants, large pool, and large space were appreciated. We checked out the arcade which was dirty and run down, with little quality games, so we ended up not even using it. The location of the hotel was convenient, we walked to the mall. And, the service was great. Front desk ladies were so friendly and helpful. If this place were cleaned up and they utilized that courtyard space better it could be a much more popular hotel. Just make sure that if you're staying in a courtyard room, you are aware it's pretty loud from the people swimming in the pool. read more

Lousy excuse for lodging My brother and sister-in-law had friends and family stay here for their wedding. The staff while very friendly had zero communication skills, we were all suppose to be on the same floor and we were scattered all over, we had reserved special rooms for getting ready and for the night of the wedding. Both of those rooms were not ready when they were suppose to be and NOT the kind of room we paid for. The website shows updated rooms but its lipstick on a pig. This hotel is not kept well at all! Upon entering my room the first thing that hits you is a funky cheesy smell from the carpet it's awful. The bathroom soap holders in the shower had grime on them and the counters in the bathroom didn't look wiped down gross. The room ac was weak and had an overall moisture in the rug and blankets. I'll admit I was a bit wary after reading the reviews, but I was pleasantly surprised! We were on the 1st floor courtyard facing room, just steps from the pool entrance. We stayed in a deluxe jacuzzi king, the jacuzzi tub was amazing! I also loved how the room had a back door facing the courtyard with a little table and chairs outside. We spent most of the time with our back door ajar to get some air in the room, no matter what we did the thermostat would not work! I tried everything! Our room was hot all the time unless we had a breeze from the courtyard coming in, which meant listening to a lot of noise! The only downfall of our room is the loud kids all day and early morning! And outside the front door fighting in the middle of the night was unpleasant to wake to. That being said the bed was super comfy, we enjoyed the pool when the kids all left and had a lovely stay. Our rate included a bottle of either red, white or sparking wine each night and $25 per day food credit. Twigs lounge was ok, the food was decent, atmosphere was sort of dreary but actually pretty lively at times. Overall the jacuzzi tub was to die for, and the view of the courtyard was lovely! I had a one night stay in this hotel for a wedding in the area. As I was trying to go to sleep I noticed my neck started to itch. I turn on the light to see a bed bug. I quickly gathered all my things and went to the front desk after no one showed up to my room as stated they would after calling the front desk. I met with Lou who I showed the bites on my neck to which he said those are mosquito bites, bed bug bites you would see puncture wholes. I told him no and showed him pictures I has taken of two bed bug I found in my bed. He continued to try and avoid the fact that they were bed bugs by saying he's not an expert on bugs and he doesn't know what kind of bug was in the picture even though it is very obvious. I did not like the way the situation was handled and would not reccomend staying here. read more

Staying at this hotel was like a weird nightmare. The only reason they're getting two stars is because the shuttle driver from the airport was prompt, courteous, and gave us regional tips! First of all, looking for our room was like something out of the shining. Long outdated hallways that randomly had a microwave on a cart. We got in really late, so the only food available was UberEats McDonalds. We ordered our food and gave the room number. 30 mins later I get a text from our driver that they wouldn't let him in. I called the front desk and they said I had to go up to get it.. ok.. except I have to walk a half mile to get to the front desk from our room. But, ok. When we checked in we made sure to ask for a late checkout and put the do not disturb sign up when we went to bed. At 5am (5AM!!!!) I hear a knock on the door and the bill slides under the door. I ran out to the hallway to see what was going on and some lady was sliding all the bills. Obviously, I was pissed, and asked if she didn't see our sign, and she told me she was just doing her job. She then goes on to knock on all the doors in the hallway (so we couldn't sleep). It continued to be super loud (housekeeping etc) so I called the front desk even more mad. They told me there must be a mistake, they didn't know who that first woman was and housekeeping doesn't start that early. So, now I'm even more mad, because I'm not hallucinating these things and I go to the front desk to talk to a manager. They double down, say that's very concerning and they'll check the tapes because they don't know who these people are who are knocking on doors with bills or people who are cleaning the rooms. You have NO IDEA? So anyway, they give me a gift card to their restaurant for when we woke back up and checked out, and then it was closed when we checked out and wanted breakfast. I came to the Millennium for a conference, so didn't have much choice in the matter. The hotel was generally nice, and the staff were friendly and helpful, especially housekeeping. The rooms were recently renovated, which is typically an improvement, and it may have been. However the modern decor was cold, and the view expectedly dismal given its an airport hotel. My biggest complaint was in the bar. Our server had no idea what wines were available and the wine list we were given was not updated. While the food was good, the service prevented me from eating here again during my stay. Another note in the food. I have attended many conferences and this was the first time a banquet offered a fresh and appetizing meal. The room attendance for the conference lectures were great and they made sure fresh glasses and water were always available. **** If you are planning on coming during their continued renovation project, be aware of noise and a heavy smell of paint in the halls and bedrooms. While I understand these things have to happen others may not be able to deal with this and should exercise caution while they staying here during their improvement. read more

We found this on Expedia as we were on a long road trip. We arrived around 11pm and they had our room ready for us. It was an easy check in process and we were able to get to our room without too much difficulty. We were only there for the night.....we left early in the morning, but we enjoyed our stay. The room was clean, the beds were cozy. I cannot speak to the amenities. We did get a chance to walk around in the morning. The place seemed clean and inviting. It seemed like a safe neighborhood and we were able to get in and out easily. read more

This is a hot spot for Canadian bargain-shoppers and discount-flyers in what some jokingly call "Buffalo, Ontario". If you are writing the CPA exam in Amherst, NY, then this is a great hotel to go to. The airport shuttle picks you up just a minutes' walk from where the Greyhound / Megabus drops you off. A word of caution, this is north Buffalo, and there are not necessarily taxis at all hours of the day. Don't assume a cab will be there to take you to somewhere important just by hailing a cab. You need to take a cab company phone number and call ahead. I just about got left behind one time when all the taxi cab drivers took a holiday on Columbus day - don't let it be you. The hotel room key wouldn't work on a couple of occasions, they really need to fix all the door locks at some point. Staff are pretty friendly. They take their jobs very seriously. Free newspaper in the lobby. There are several restaurants within a 2 minute walk, crossing the street or walking into the Galleria Mall. There are almost no dollar coins in circulation in the US, yet this place has a lot of them coming out of their candy and pop machines. I kind of like these dollar coins and wish more places would use them. read more

Kind of junkie, we were shopping at the mall, so we decided to stay here (it's in the same lot. The hotel used to be a Sheraton that is obvious, but since buying it, I think zero dollars have gone into making the hotel nice. The check in was slow, we came back twice, and had to wait both times. The elevator is far away from the check in, and looks and feels like it is from the 80's (plus there are only 2 small elevators for a large hotel). The only positive, was the flat screen tv in the room, the channel selection is very limited (no Travel Network, no Food Network) The bed was hard as a rock, and the maid was in the hall all morning. Next time we will go elsewhere unless we find a deal on this place. read more

Ok so let's start We recently stayed at this hotel me, my wife and my dog. And I tell you the room was small and horrible, dog urine still on floor and one of the beds had a huge piss stain on it. On our second night another room ordered food and threw it on our front door, I just chocked it up as kids being kids, but when I called the front desk they were not helpful they asked me to clean it up that's when I got even more pissed. Nevertheless i had them clean it. No microwave instead we had to share one with the half of the first floor which was located next to the ice machine. The pool was filthy and a cloudy color and no one bothered to clean it. And if you plan on bringing food back from going out guess again the fridge in your room is laughable and can barely be called a fridge. The TV is controlled by the box in the back and they control everything on the TV you can't even plug in a fire stick or a ps4 without them giving you permission and it's under the pretense they can control what you plug in. The breakfast is not worth it for 14.99 per day, the truck stop across the street has better food. The rugs were outdated and so were the bathrooms, and the toilets you have no room. Will not be staying here ever again and I recommend others to stay away from this hotel this will be a waste of your money, and time. For the price I paid I could have gotten a better hotel. read more

The staff is friendly, but the services offered by the hotel is average. This hotel offers no real amenities, there is no true concierge service. The free shuttle is inconvenient to take, as there appears to be one shuttle for the entire hotel and has no true set schedule. Hence you always get stuck waiting as it drops off another hotel guest. The free internet service is painfully slow, and the walls are very thin. I heard more than I would have liked from my neighbors! Very uncomfortable. It's fine if you are traveling on a budget, or are just spending a night or two on business and would like to stay near the airport. Otherwise, I would opt to stay elsewhere. read more

I definitely was not impressed by this place. Millennium usually has higher quality hotels in major cities but this one must be their worst. Maybe i had my expectations set too high since it carries the millennium brand name. This room would be worth it at $50 or less but not anything more. I had stains on the carpet so I walked in flip flops around the room, stains on the bed sheets and a dated tv. The pictures on their website are really the only nice places in the hotel. This would be a much better place to hold a venue or some type of get together not really as a luxury, upscale hotel. They do have an agreement with a gym called Fitness19 that they will take you which is about 15 minutes down the road. The gym is a little on the small side but much much better than the hotels gym. The location is great if you are going into Buffalo with the sole purpose of shopping at the mall but not really worth it for any other outing. read more

We checked in late participating on a Niagara Falls Tour. The room was spotless, plenty of amenities and extras, comfortable beds. If you go there I recommend a car, close proximity to the airport. The negative was the breakfast menu, no clear option of a reasonable valued breakfast menu but it was still okay. The bar offers a great selection of drafts and the service was alright. Could not try the pool area but it looked really nice. They have a small gym and free coffee in the morning. Nice art hanging around the building. read more

This place would be nice if it was 1995. The gym was a playground for kids, which staff even walked in and didn't say anything. The shuttle runs every 30 mins, we literally walked up at 12:31 and they couldn't do anything for us, so make sure you are there early. I guess you get what you pay for. Bedding was very dated. Area surrounding isn't the nicest. Atm out of order. No plates or paper towels to use for the one hotel microwave at night. read more

Our rom smells like a urinal, I called 3 hours in advance to let them know I would be early & have a pet w me (it's a pet friendly hotel) - my room was NOT ready we were on a scheduled plan - not one person in the front was extra eager to help out, not even the assistant manager Kathy. Save yourself the disappointment & stay elsewhere .. update. Don't expect any help or service or luggage cart or anyone to jump in and clean the pool after a child vomits in it .. don't expect any decency .. kids are sleeping and someone keeps knocking on my door at 10:45pm from room service ... what an awful choice this hotel was. This hotel was nice but not 100%. The rooms are large. The pool area is amazing especially if u have children. The rooms could be much cleaner. We had huge jacuzzi tub which was great but the way the shower head was set up it was really difficult to shower. U had to lean way back to wash ur hair. We also had a room that slept 5 that clearly DID NOT have enough sleeping space for 5. They have tight security and enforce pool/curfew times pretty hard. Again the pool area was nice, the room was huge but certain aspects could certainly be picked up and cleaned a lot more. I do think I would stay here again. read more

Possibly one of the better hotels in the area if you want to take a trip down memory lane to the late 1980's early 90's. They obviously have done nothing to improve this place since then. Furniture and beds old and uncomfortable. The pool is in a greenhouse-like setting and not that nice at all. Did not feel like my room was safe at all. The door locks and handle were very loose and not really secure enough for me. Was quoted a price of $165. After checking out they told me about taxes which raised price to $195. When I checked my bank statement they charged me $235. Never ordered anything or took anything home. I could not advise anyone to waste their money here. Pay more and get a nicer hotel. read more

I didn't have a long stay here, but I have to say, the experience was good. My room was clean, didn't have any weird odors, and a very comfortable bed. There seemed to be a lot of amenities in the hotel, but I didn't have the time to explore them. I found it extremely convenient that the hotel is right next to a mall, too. The pictures were deceiving. I looked it up on Google and it appeared to be a decent place. I arrived and it looked like it hadn't had a renovation since the early 90s. Those most were this places glory days but those days are long gone. 2 stars because the customer service was decent but when I arrived to the room, I was highly disappointed. I was scared to put my bags down, the room looked dirty. People where hanging around like this is some hangout spot. I thought to take a dip in the pool, big mistake. There customer service is awesome. Really nice people working at the front desk and restaurant. The food at the restaurant is not good but the bar is cool. The swimming pool has way too much chlorine. The fitness center is one of the best i've ever seen at a hotel (has free weights, treadmills, stationary bikes, a sauna and a locker room). We were celebrating our anniversary, and we thought we will stay in this hotel and do some shopping late November, prior to Christmas. We booked the Courtyard room, first day there was no hot water, we tried the pool and the water was freezing! When complaining to reception they told us we were the only one complaining about this, although there were other people standing by the reception complaining about the same! The staff is not friendly nor helpful, they didn't even tell us there was another restaurant for breakfast, we tried the bar first night and it was very noisy, no staff and not cozy! Landed in Buffalo and called the hotel. Shuttle arrived almost immediately. Check in easy. Great food. Cold beer. Rooms were clean and spacious. Staff was warm and attentive. Our family's new goto hotel for Buffalo. You want a boutique 4 star boojee hotel dont come here. You want functionality, service and convenience. Come here. Great workout. Great swim. Walked to the mall. Breakfast was nice as well. Cant say enough good things about this property. Mind you ive been in some kind of hotel leadership since 2005. So not my first rodeo. read more
