But to my knowledge they couldn't make lenses. Odd but your name is "LensCrafters". So I wanted them to send my prescription to the Athens GA location cause I was head home in a day or two. They said they couldn't do that. That they would have to mail them. Okay then they can ship them right to my house. NOPE! I have to pick it up from the Athens location. And the other store didn't understand why they were so difficult. Seven months later I need my prescription for work. I called and asked if they can email me a copy of it. NOPE! This LensCrafters does not have the ability to email. Not even from store to store. They said I could just come by and pick up a copy of my prescription. I told them I work 8 hours away. That won't work. Then they said they can fax it, but who has a fax machine? I work in a corporate office and we don't have a fax machine anymore. So I went to the LensCrafters in Birmingham, bless that store cause we called this store 4 times to fax over my prescription and I would just get it here. The Hoover location helped me so much. They were dumbfounded by the reps at the Daytona Beach location. Come to find out it's a HIPAA Violation to withhold personal medical documents.

The optician side of the business was great, too. I want a specific style of frame (aviator with wrap-around temple piece) which are common anymore. They were able to source them and I had my new glasses in a week and half. I am not sure why there are some bad reviews from California. Perhaps they are reviewing a different company there with the name Eye Design Eyewear. The business in Ormond Beach Florida does not use that name anymore, and Yelp should adjust its site accordingly.

Then later they refused to provide critical measurement lens data they calculated (PD) and I paid for as part of the service. At first they falsely contended that Florida law disallowed the providing of such info. There is no such law. Multiple states actually require it. Florida does not. Then they shifted to some vague "liability" concerns which was creative but not credible. However, their real reason for the refusal, which they finally admitted, was that I could use that necessary measurement data to buy cheaper glasses on-line or somewhere else at a cheaper price... in essence trying to force me to use them again for any future prescription glasses needs. Poor and unfair business practice. I emailed them recently to their customer service address expressing these same concerns but received no reply.

A couple of years ago, I lost my last amazing…read morepair of glasses in the ocean, and had to go to another eye doctor/optician/optometrist (For Eyes on International) and even after returning to complain because my vision was blurry, I gave up recently and started researching other eye doctors. I looked and looked and asked everyone I know. No one had a great recommendation. And then I found Beach Vision and Dr Kevin Brantley, and the entire experience was amazing. He agreed that my prescription was tricky but he promised to get it right. After the extensive eye exam, he had me talk to Brandy, who is one of the optician/techs who help select and measure the glasses prior to ordering. She was amazing! Thoughtful, and helped me pick out some frames and then matched the prescription. Amber at the front desk was great at triaging me through the process and her follow ups were excellent. Finally when I picked up the glasses, she had me sit with Chelsea, another of the optician/techs and she made a few adjustments for comfort and when I was finished, the glasses fit well, and my vision is back!! These glasses perform well and I love them. Thank you Dr Brantley, Brandy, Amber and Chelsea!!

And then accused me of arguing with them. This is after paying hundreds of dollars just to get an eye exam by an optometrist not even an ophthalmologist. The Doctor was ok But examined me without checking my eye first to see if there was a lens in there so she had to start over. And why does a simple eye exam take an hour and a half? The staff needs proper training on how to deal with customers. I am not going back there.
