The vanity top traveled with us to the new home. Of course, as life would have it, the top did not fit in any of our bathrooms. The granite was very light in color, and looked similar to marble, so I held on to the top in the hopes that we could use it in a future remodel. Just for kicks I called Upstate Granite to see what the cost would be trim the the top to fit. The receptionists answered a few of my questions and then passed me on to a gentleman. He asked me very specific questions and gave me a quote over the phone. He told me if I dropped it off that afternoon, it could be completed by the following day. After chatting with the husband and and making further measurements, we realized more trimming would need to occur. We took the top over. The same guy (sorry, I can't remember his name) was available. He asked questions to get the full scope of the project, then advised us on the best solutions. He did end up trimming and polishing the top for us -- in less than 20 minutes. The piece is now installed and looks great! I can't compare prices, as Upstate was the only granite company I called. Their showroom is quite attractive, so I imagine I could have found a smaller place, with less overhead, to do it for less. However, I was pleased and would most likely return to them if I had future granite/marble needs.

One week later, they delivered our granite top (jn one piece) through snow at our house and up the seven stairs! Their crew of 4 healthy men did a fantastic job...it is beautiful!!! These reviews seem to be a few years back. We have had our quartzite natural stone (not quartz…read morewhich is basically reglued rock dust!) countertops for over a year (installed circa summer of 2023). Initially there was excitement. Quartzite is extremely dense and hard to work with, much more than mere granite. It takes many times longer to cut quartzite. The original cutting cracked on the machine. (We did get a lovely souvenir piece of it). To our surprise without asking, Solid Surfaces then cut the replacement in one big piece rather than two as usually done, which left no seams in the large L-shaped piece. It took a crew of five to haul in and place the main piece plus an island and two other pieces. Taj Mahal quartzite has an elegance that we admire every day. Best choice ever which we use everyday (although we do baby it to keep up the original appearance, cleaning up to not let anything stand on it for long).

I wanted quartz, and if you know anything about quartz, you know it can get pricey quick. I shopped around to almost every store in town that was Google-able. I went to a giant warehouse near downtown where you can look at huge slabs up close and in person and, of course, found a really expensive stone that I just loved. I took this picture to many people to see who could obtain it. Imperial could. And cheaper than others. But what really gives them 5 stars is that the owner (husband and wife team) told me she could get a really similar stone for even less. I was wary to buy something I hadn't seen so she made some calls and had the supplier bring a giant slab to her store just for me-- at no obligation! Their storeroom isn't impressive but they do have many large slabs in the back, as well as some remnants you can look through for smaller things such as vanities. And when I saw the new, and cheaper, stone I was very excited. It was almost exactly the same but would save me hundreds, if not thousands of dollars (I cannot remember the exact savings). Since we were behind on our kitchen renovation, I was worried about getting the countertops measured in case something changed. The husband came to measure and was very easy going about the whole process and reassured me small changes we were considering wouldn't be an issue. The installation went well; their installers were very polite and worked quickly. There were a few minor issues that they came back and resolved quickly. Now, the countertops are still gorgeous and there have been no issues. Included with my purchase was a free stainless steel, undermount, very deep and wide single sink. I had originally planned on buying one elsewhere so that saved me another few hundred dollars. I was a bit worried though as I'd read reviews online about some sinks scratching easily but this one does not. And the installers showed me a trick: if it does get a minor scratch, use some steel wool and gently rub it away! When I need stone for my bathroom countertop, I will definitely be calling on them!

They used to be a wholesaler years ago so their showroom is in an indutrial looking building, but dont be fooled it is beutiful inside and the selection is unmatched. We have used them for several rooms in our house and have always gotten the best value and insights. Once they explained how wood that was improperly milled was often sold to other store but they reject is if the quality isn;t there. Tom said you'll be sorry when you try to install it. I also needed the wood ripped down to certain sizes. I shopped around and they offered the best price. They were quick and easy to deal with, and while I waited, I walked around their shop--which smells wonderful! Tip: they have a good selection of live edge slabs for countertops, tables, etc and really old, awesome reclaimed wood beams. They varied in price based on size but were around $250 ea. I originally believed I did not need a designer and was pretty skeptical about going with Arrow versus hiring out myself. After calling a few places, Arrow was the only company who took thorough measurements and followed up. The others came for the first walk through and I never heard back from them until I called them dozens of times over a course of weeks. Everyone last year was booked and busy, even Arrow, but they were the only company that remained professional and responsive. I probably could have saved some money going with independent contractors but I'm glad we didn't. The timelines they gave us were very realistic/underpromised and they over delivered. The crews were very professional, timely and thorough. Steve was out to the site often, checking in and any question or concern i had along the way I knew I could just text him and he was always responsive. They have a great selection to meet all price ranges and Steve was very good about helping to make design decisions but also respecting my aesthetic and budget. Months later, we had a minor issue with one of the under cabinet lights and Steve responded right away and to take a look/fix. It's nice to know if I had any issues concerning the work done, I could probably walk into Arrow kitchen and get some help. This was our first kitchen remodel, we did a lot of research before hand, we also did a lot to help save money (demo, plumbing, light electrical) and Arrow was very helpful in the entire process to get the job done. We live in an old house (1890 build) so I had a lot of concerns about unknowns...Steve was really knowledgeable about old houses which helped set up expectations with the process and scope of work.
