We bought a fireplace through a company that was sold to David Smart. We called in October because…read morethe pilot wouldn't stay lit and they couldn't schedule us for 3 weeks. So mid Nov comes, David arrives and cleans the FP, charges us several hundred dollars and 5 minutes after he leaves it goes off again. I called immediately and left a message. A woman said they needed to order a part. We've called half a dozen times since then and get no response. It's been weeks and no one has even given us a single update. We either get the answering machine or a woman tells us she'll let David know we called. I'm so very frustrated over this. We've had this gas fireplace for many years and have never had a service issue with the former owner. I really miss having it on!

Even better, after using the insert a half dozen times: no issues! no callbacks! I'm hoping that David will be available to do annual maintenance because based on my experience with much less reliable installers, I know I can rely on his expertise and attention to detail. I was told that Tammy would be arriving at 9am on Thursday. The company was kind enough to send me a reminder on Wednesday at 4pm to confirm. Fast forward to 8:21am, day of, and the office calls to cancel. I've already paid for and sent to the grandsons to a babysitter for the entire 8 hours today, AND it's going to take 7-10 business days to refund my $648 I prepaid for your cleaning service. You've cost me money now. Your customer service was very friendly, but it's nothing when it only adds up to trouble and frustration for the customer you said you'd provide a service to. Back draft found at water heater, ( apparently not legally mandated by plumber to test). In fixing this issue, was found that they didn't connect flue pipe correctly. Left a gap they covered with tape.
