The entire staff is stellar, from Ellen at the front desk, who is the appointment scheduler and jack-of-all-trades, to each dental assistant and hygienist, to the amazing Dr Alice Ann, the care is second to none! Kelly Dentristry uses state-of-the-art equipment and even have a dental lab in house, so many crowns and other dental appliances are made on the spot. They are gentle and caring, and we truly look forward to seeing everyone when we do our six month checkups and cleanings. His office staff is very nice and attentive to my schedule as we as Will being such a great dentist and Guy. I can a lot about him and his customer service but I'll just mention one detail. Before I went on vacation my filling came out on Thursday, if you know dentist they rarely or never work on Friday. I searched the internet and found dr Kelly and he was able to replace my filling the next day. I've been with him ever since and he does great work that lasts. If your insurance allows you to use Will Kelly then please look him up.

I show up hand them my insurance card of sorry we can't take this you need a new dentist.. I was like wait I was told I was good sorry not this plan.. Whie there I told them my son who has his own insurance moved to Texas.. I noticed the beautiful building as i drove past it finding everything else...thinking : "eh.. I'll go to the dentist soon".. Well, my crown popped off yesterday at work. I frantically looked online...."what is the name of that cute dentist office? Ah! I found it! The one that looks like a beach house!" I called and was so happy to hear that they would fit me in the next day. I went in and it feels more like vacation inside.. Dr. Johnston is so nice .... I actually enjoyed this visit to the dentist. I had an appointment for a 6 month cleaning; arrived to be told that I was compelled to have some…read moreother cleaning treatment, more expensive of course, because of bone degredation issues. I had never heard of this and I had certainly exeperienced ZERO symptons. They refused to perfom a normal cleaning. I drove directly to another dentist (who naturally for any new patient does every conceivable XRay and photograph of the patient's mouth.) I told them nothing of the experience 20 minutes earlier, to avoid them potentially getting on the band wagon and continuing the ruse! The Hygenist completed the cleaning and complimented me on the state of my gums and I then mentioned the earlier experience and she just shook her head and said it was clearly a money making issue. My wife also had work done a few months back and had a few crowns fitted. At that time she complained about tooth ache on a crowned tooth which the dentist stated would disappear after a while. Needless to say, she had to return and they had to perfom a root canal under the crowned tooth; double the time and definitley more expensive. There's no doubt this needed to be done before the crown was fitted. After these expereinces, I wouldn't recommend anyone to the practice.

After posting, one friend informed me that she had made an appointment for the Thursday after New Year's, and i had two others ask me questions. not only do i have a great place to go for dentistry, but wow, i found ministers of Christ to our community, and that's exactly what Christ wants us to do! My FB post: I found my new dentist today! Hounshell Dentistry in Shelby is amazing! I went in for a crown after snapping my molar at dinner last night and I was in awe. I saw Dr. Paul this morning and did a "meet & greet" of sorts. When I went back this afternoon, he told me he had prayed for me during his lunchtime. :) (where do you ever find that?) We talked about his dental ministry, his family, my family, and random odds and ends. His staff is like no other and absolutely precious! What a super team. I would highly recommend this office! If you're worried about parking, they offer parking validation in the garage with an elevator that leads directly up to the office. The interior itself is bright with plenty of natural light coming through the windows that offer a neat view of the surrounding skyscrapers. The staff are all very friendly, professional, and knowledgeable. They really take the time to explain what they're seeing before providing a detailed treatment plan with transparent and reasonable pricing. I have not felt any pressure to accept treatment without due diligence.

Was also told that had 8 cavities that needed to be taken care of THAT DAY or my teeth may need extractions...alot of pressure from them. When we went to another dentist for a second opinion was told there are only 4 cavities and are not in need of immediate attention. Wont be going back!
