The town of Canal Fulton Ohio has several great places where you can grab a delicious burger like Cherry Street Creamery, The Barrel Room, The Canal Boat Lounge and Miller-Doan Tavern. My family has lived in Canal Fulton for over a year now and we have finally grabbed some grub from Miller-Doan Tavern, which is a charming Tavern located in the heart of Canal Fulton right off of Cherry Street. They have a full service bar and they have indoor seating and some outside seating as well. We ordered our food from DoorDash with a dash pass we got a 20% discount of select items. I ordered the Cowboy Burger which is served with onion petals, cheddar cheese, barbecue sauce, and steak fries. The Cowboy Burger was straight fire very scrumptious. My wife and our best friend both ordered the Tavern Smashburger which they said was very tasty. Lastly my daughter ordered Barbacoa Tacos which is Two seasoned beef tacos on corn tortillas with melted cheese and pico de gallo, Served with chips and salsa and my son ordered a chicken quesadilla. Both kids loved their food and that both entrees were very tasty. I would definitely recommend Miller-Doan Tavern for anyone who either lives in Canal Fulton or is driving through Canal Fulton, because they have great food and their prices don't break the bank. read more

When you walk in to small local place on a Friday and you find the last table you arent quite sure what to expect but this place is worth a peak for sure. We sat out on the enclosed patio and while cool it wasnt overly cold. Waitress was very prompt and professional. We got the mozzarella sticks and the fried rueben rolls. Mozzarella sticks are not worth anyone's time but those rueben rolls were full and juicy and it made me want their rueben but we both got their steak special. It was a nicely seasoned tender strip and came with some shrimp and a couple sides. We got the same sides just different dressings on the salad. Rare to find a white French and it was house made. Wasn't the best white French but not too bad. Needed to be a little thinned out. Almost mayo consistency. The potato cakes are a hidden little gem of the whole meal. Crispy and full of flavor and could just be a nice little appetizer on their own. Overall pretty good little gem in that small town. read more

I went on a Friday night expecting a loud atmosphere but it was actually intimate and relatively quiet. The bar is well stocked with a large variety of brands. Creative cocktail menu; disappointing wine selection.... The food didn't blow my mind either. Lots of fried options. Lots of cheap steaks. Lots of burgers. Nothing really original or unique or trendy. I'm not saying the food was bad, don't get me wrong. The breaded/fried shrimp I had was tasty and juicy...I guess I was just hoping for a more creative menu. I'm a foodie though...what can I say? Just stop in or after canoeing down the river from the downtown Canoe Livery or strolling along the shops in the area! This restaurant has increased from a drink and snacks place to a full bar and variety of meals from the menu! They even have an outdoor patio in the warmer weather! Food is great a wide selection of drinks including speciality drinks and wines! Spouse and I decided to order the chopped steak with mashed potatoes and corn! There was plenty of delicious gravy on the potatoes and chopped steak! We was not that hungry, but sure glad we stopped in today right after voting in the election! Just do it. You've got to try Miller Doan Tavern. It's become my favorite place for lunch. I've had about a million chicken sandwiches in my life and I'm convinced they've got the best one. Quality, fresh products and you will taste the difference. My person recommendations are the fried pickle spears and the grilled chicken sandwich with their famous fries. The fries people, the fries!!!!!! They have these amazing thin little steak fries lightly dusted in salt and pepper. They ARE the best French fries I've ever had and Im a chubby 35 year old. I've had 35 years of eating fries. They have a small bar and cute outdoor patio. Parking can be tricky since it's in the center of a small town but there is a public parking lot near by. I don't drink but people are always having a beer when I'm there. They have domestic and some fancy ones too. Do yourself a favor and try this place ASAP! read more

Up until a year ago, Miller-Doan only served drinks and appetizers, but after seeing posts on Facebook, we decided to check them out for their daily specials, which is exactly what we had! Tuesday special is chopped steak, mashed potatoes and corn for $8.50. It was a nice "homey" selection. The red onions in the potatoes gave them a really special flavor. Plenty of gravy and corn The chopped steak was a trifle small but plenty enough to fill me up. I did think that the addition of a dinner roll or slice of bread would have been a nice idea. Our waitress was helpful and friendly, but seemed to be "doing it all", so I'm also happy they weren't busy. (We were there around 2pm) The atmosphere was quite pleasant and the decor was simple but cozy. I've heard they have live music at times on the outdoor patio. Looking forward to trying it out next summer. Check out the menu for other daily specials. Please do not believe the hours of business posted on Yelp!! They now open at 11am! A cute little restaurant/bar in canal Fulton. The bar is small, but cozy. The food was good! We had fish and chips and a steak sandwich. We'd order both again. Their draft list is small but decent. I have been to Miller-Doan Tavern multiple times. The best service I have ever had there was when it first opened, which wasn't the best and it has only gotten worse. Now, I only go when our out-of-town guests want to check it out. On our last visit, our waitress only checked on us twice and with all the customers sitting out on the patio, the last thing you want to see is ALL of the staff hanging out around the bar inside just talking when everyone at your table has empty drinks and have been waiting to order some food. As for the food, it is cheap ingredients at an expensive price. When they first opened I figured it was due to the lack of knowledge on what the customers might like as well as financial but that hasn't changed either. This little tavern is in a good location. It is well designed and tastefully finished. I have been here on a number of occasions, each time I look for improvement from their staff. The staff seems to always be uncertain of what beers they have or just how to mix a drink. Another short coming is the drink prices... they seem to charge a good deal higher than this area (downtown Canal Fulton) warrants.
