Establishment was clean or orderly, minus the boarded up windows. Staff friendly as well. Food ordered. The menu has changed since we came last and my wife's favorite was no longer available. I had the fish and chips and wife ordered their cheese steak sandwich. The fish and chips were good. Fries could have been fresher (-.5). Wife's cheese steak was good but wished it had peppers (-.5). Miller's Ale House - A Disappointing Visit with a Side of Frustration I recently visited Miller's Ale House in Kennesaw hoping for a casual, enjoyable meal--but what I got instead was a masterclass in poor service and underwhelming food. To start, the restaurant was nearly empty, so I expected relatively quick seating and service. Instead, the hostess seemed unsure of what to do, awkwardly asking if I wanted to sit at the bar. I declined and asked for a booth, only to be seated in the bar area anyway. I waited nearly twenty minutes without a server stopping by. Eventually, I had to go find someone to ask who was assigned to my table. That's when Michaela--my server--finally showed up. She didn't offer much in the way of engagement or hospitality, but I placed my order anyway: the so-called "infamous Zingers," which turned out to be just average chicken fingers. They were drenched in a sauce that made them soggy and didn't do much for the flavor. The texture was off--mushy and unappetizing. There were no napkins on the table and the ketchup bottle was completely empty. I looked around for Michaela but she was nowhere to be found. The whole setup felt neglected and indifferent. One thing Michaela did do quickly was bring the check and collect payment. I guess that counts for something--if only the rest of the service had been that efficient. What really stood out, though, was the stark difference in service I witnessed. About thirty minutes into my visit, a Caucasian man was seated nearby. His server took his drink and food order almost immediately--before he'd even had time to settle in. I don't want to make assumptions, but the contrast was glaring. It's hard not to notice these things, especially in a place like Kennesaw where, let's be honest, that kind of dynamic isn't unfamiliar. Sigh. Kennesaw could benefit from more restaurant options, but more importantly, it needs better ones. If Miller's Ale House wants to survive, they'll have to start treating every guest like they matter. This was my first visit to the Kennesaw restaurant. This location looks a little newer and nicer than the one in Alpharetta, where I have dined frequently. I met a friend here for dinner, and we had an overall good experience. Our server Brayden was welcoming and attentive. He took the time to describe the specials as well as a number of the menu items. My friend had never been to the restaurant before, so Brayden gave good recommendations. My friend ordered the roasted chicken quesadilla. He asked for fresh jalapeños, and Brayden brought a large, fresh one and roasted it right at the table. My friend said everything tasted flavorful with just the right amount of spice. I ordered the full rack of ribs special with a loaded baked potato and side salad. I asked for an extra side of BBQ sauce because the ribs tasted very dry and a little too tough. I probably would not order the ribs again. Brayden's service was definitely the highlight of our experience. It is a sports bar, lots of TVs going with multiple sports events. I ordered a glass of Cabernet. I ordered a cheeseburger and it came cooked as requested (and without as requested!) Fries were really good! Hubs ordered an 8-oz filet mignon. The manager-in-training came a few minutes later to let him know they were out of the filet and offered a 10-ounce sirloin instead - hubs was fine with that. He then came back a few minutes later to say that was also not available so hubs ended up with a 6-oz sirloin. The gentleman was very gracious and apologetic but it would have been good not to offer an item as a substitute when it was also not available (supply chain issues?). The fries were boring, unseasoned fries, with a few sprinkles of cheddar...half of which was melted. I considered sending them back but that would have required someone to swing by. There was nothing 'fully loaded' on these fries and it is one of the easiest things to make in a kitchen.
