Quality of food has gone down after the pandemic. Before, during, and for a time after, it was still great. It's a hit and a miss, with maybe 60% good and 40% why did I come here The beers on tap and bartenders make up for when the food is lacking. Nice chill atmosphere, kid friendly at the tables. I haven't personally done lunch in-person but some other patrons at the bar said they do a great job here about being quick as these folks said they only have a 30 minutes lunch. Which I was happy to hear because depending on the day I have between 30-60. Now they did said that was by ordering off of their lunch menu...regular dinner items from the regular menu will take longer. I went here for dinner tonight and for the first time in years, I was so disappointed. My friend ordered frozen margaritas, well, not available, he ordered fish and chips and the fish was very small and overcooked. The window sill was filthy. The Venetian blinds did not look. While visiting in Sanford, my grandson and I stopped at Miller's Ale House Sports Bar & Restaurant. It was late afternoon midweek so there weren't many diners. We were quickly greeted by a smiling hostess and seated. Milker's Ale House is your typical sports bar & restaurant. There are booths, tall top tables and a large bar area for sitting and plenty of large screens placed throughout for watching sports. I ordered the English Pub Fish & Chips and a Samuel Adams while my grandson ordered the Zingers Mountain Melt and a Miller's Light. A short wait and our food arrived. It wasn't blow on it hot, but still warm. My fish and chips were pretty good. The batter wasn't too thick making the fish have a nice little crunch to it. The fries weren't overly cooked, wimpy or greasy. I only took a few bites of the Cole slaw only because it was just a little too dry for my liking. It needed more slaw dressing. The Mountain Melt was massive and could easily feed 2-3 people. I didn't sample it, but it met my grandson approval because he ate most of it. Overall it was a good dining experience. There's honestly not much to say about Miller's Ale House. It wasn't terrible, it wasn't game changing. The people were friendly and pretty attentive. The atmosphere was much like any other sports bar, very casual and laid back which is exactly the vibe we were looking for that day. My brother had just finished a jiu jitsu tournament that day and we were looking for a place to just relax, decompress, and eat. We eventually landed on Miller's Ale House and we weren't disappointed given our standards. I ordered the zingers and they were okay. Coating on the sauce was uneven but the chicken did taste good; I just can't help but think that I could easily make these at home. The Pull 'N' Pop Donuts were alright despite not looking like the picture showed. They might have been slightly overcooked, but the flavor was there and was satisfactory. Miller's Ale House is painfully average, but honestly sometimes that's what you're looking for after a long day of hard work, school, or whatever it is that you do in life. The restaurant bar is a great place for food, drinks and sports. The booths are large and comfortable. There are about two dozen TVs with sports on. The service was excellent. Our food came quickly. The server and his helpers made sure we had everything we needed. The sirloin was made medium rare as I ordered it. However, it was chewy. The shrimp were crispy and succulent. Absolutely disappointed! We walk in the staff is preoccupied. No smiles no greeting people looking around for their server and about 10 guests by the door not including us waiting for a hostess or server after 10 min we decide to go to the bar. The gentleman behind the bar is kind and prompt. We look over the menu but we're nervous about ordering based on the amount of people looking around for their server while their dirty empty plates are just sitting in front of them. So I'm downgrading them after several many issues over the last many months. We've been customers since they opened this location. Sometimes two, maybe three times a month. Sometimes more. My parents like to meet us kids here. Our last waitress was snarky enough to prompt this updated review though I realize I've probably been a customer here more times than days she's worked. Front of house hasn't been friendly. Big Red ain't big like it used to be and is sometimes rubbery. Fish and chips have been coming out burnt and oily more than once. They've also been cheap with the sides a few times. Once had a laughable tablespoon of mashed potatoes buried under the meatloaf! Mom, the meatloaf!! They've also padded the bill more than once. Like when I've asked for a side salad they've upgraded me to the full-size house salad without asking. I don't like that. And, not only have beer prices gone up dramatically it's been skunky. Was a period of time a few months ago some of the beers were off for weeks causing me to send everything back in exchange for bottles. I'm certainly no beer snob but skunky beer is skunky beer. It was New Year's Eve, and we were craving Fajitas from our favorite local Mexican restaurant, El Sol Mexican Bar and Grill before starting our festivities for the evening. Unfortunately, when we arrived, we realized the restaurant was closed for the holiday. After a few minutes of pondering where to go, I suggested Millers Ale House as the alternative. Nancy didn't object, so off we went. Luckily, the restaurant was not packed, and we were seated right away. Amazingly enough, Millers Ale House has Fajitas on their menu, so the night wasn't a complete loss. Our server Andrew was on point. He brought our drinks and took our order promptly. We ordered the Combo Fajitas ($17.99), our food arrived about 15-minutes later on a sizzling hot skillet. The Chicken and Steak were tender, juicy, and seasoned well, and veggies were fresh with a light crunch. Andrew brought out additional flour tortillas and a side dish of Pico de Gallo, chopped lettuce, shredded cheese, and sour cream at no extra charge. For dessert, we ordered the Captain Jack's Buried Treasure ice cream cake ($6.99). I haven't had this dessert since about 2006, and it was as delicious and mouthwatering as I can remember; once you go Capitan Jack, you don't go back baby! Damn, this dessert is so good! I am glad we decided to come to Millers Ale House for dinner; it was a great start to our New Year's Eve festivities. I highly recommend a visit to Millers Ale House if you are in the area. I've eaten and Millers all over the Southern US and finally decided to splurge and try the Lobster Ravioli. $20 for 5 little dry raviolis. Definitely not worth the $4 per bite they cost. Slip sliding away. Disappointing to see one of our oldest Sanford favorites on such a steep decline in service, increase in pricing, and a degeneration of the overall experience. Lots of turnover. First the Manager Nick goes to the new Lake Nona location. Then the 2 most experienced and long-standing bartenders leave. Then the nice young gal who worked hard to become a bartender leaves. All new faces doesn't equate to a continued high level of service. Lots of standing around gabbing instead of keeping everyone's beverages full. The remaining & most senior bartender has gotten really lazy & forgetful. Seeing a great place going down the tubes is so preventable. It's easy to see why this place is now half-empty. Unfortunately, based on the past year's rapid deterioration in service combined with high turnover and outrageously high prices, it won't be long till Sanford's Ale House closes. read more

I'm extremely disappointed in the whole experience. I will walk you through the experience. I had to walk across the restaurant to get my drink refilled because our waitress was completely unavailable for our table. The nachos were supposed to come with jalapeños I had to ask her to bring them after we already had the nachos for several minutes and the protein on the nachos was very dry. Then my crab was over cooked and slimy. The mixed vegetables were cold. My wife's burger was burnt not medium like she ordered and after waiting 20 minutes for the check the waitress stormed off with the check after I told her how bad the food was and how she would never see us again. I Left to use restroom and when my daughter ordered me a glass of ice (because I brought a Dr. pepper with me because I knew they didn't sell them there) the server brought the manger who completely harassed her claiming they do not do outside beverages. He literally got in her face and kept saying do you understand and then got in her face. She said OK the first time the disrespect of getting in her face was unnecessary unprofessional, and ruined the experience. Brought my daughter to tears. Please work on your customer service instead of harassing your kid customers. My daughter didn't tell me until after we left. If I had known I would've been up in his face. I've been to this place a couple of times with my coworkers and friends. Every time I've gone service is really slow from getting the food to getting the check. We ordered Fried Jalapeños and a large plate of Nachos. The Fried Jalapeños were okay, mostly one note, the majority of them were left untouched by the table. Not a real hit. The Nachos however were pretty good and we ate all of those. I ordered the Cobb Salad with Chicken & Shrimp with honey mustard dressing. I really enjoyed the salad and was surprised by it. I also got a Margarita, it wasn't good and tasted weird. On other occasions I've had their flatbread which wasn't good and one time I had their Mahi Sandwich & Mac and cheese which was pretty good. However I never leave thinking "Wow that was great, I want to come back here". I wouldn't necessarily recommend to eat here but if you get dragged here with friends and coworkers it's not terrible. read more

I have gotten takeout from this location twice now in the last month and unfortunately both experiences have been extremely unpleasant. In regard to the first time, when I arrived I immediately walk to the to-go stand which is stationed directly next to the host stand. The two hostesses did not address me or even great me with a hello after entering. I stood at the to-go stand for over five minutes before I eventually walked up to both hosts and asked "I'm sorry to interrupt but is there anyone working the to-go stand?" The girl who I had asked looked visibly upset for me asking her this, scowled at me and rudely said "what's the name". No other response. She then left and I never saw her again. About another five minutes passed and another employee comes up and hands me my food without even saying anything, just silently hands me a bag (a bag of extremely cold food as well). The second experience was actually last night. I arrived much much later this time, to a restaurant that was not very busy. Im assuming that since the restaurant isn't a busy as previously that the service would be better. I couldn't have been more wrong. The same host from the first time was at the host stand again when I walked in. No hello, no smile, no greeting. I walk over to the to-go stand to wait, where I am passed by employee after employee (including the female manager on duty) multiple times with not a single employee saying anything to me. Finally, after over ten minutes of standing there with no help, I see the to-go specialist walk up, arms full of to-go bags. She hands out all the orders to the other patrons then asks me who I'm picking up for. I tell her the name and she walks away to go look for my order. After about another five minutes she returns and tells me they don't have any orders with that name. I then showed her my confirmation, to which she looks frantically around the to-go stand. After, she pulls a silverware basket out from below the to-go stand (extremely unsanitary) and hands me my order, apologizing that it was right there the whole time. This irritated me due to me standing there for approx. 15 minutes for an order that was directly next to me the entire time. The restaurant is very poorly ran and I see that better training regiments need to be implemented. The staff also need to work out their hospitality. At the end of the day, I would not recommend the Sanford Ale house. There are much better wings restaurants in the local area, for a better price and a better overall experience. read more

Came here because my siblings wanted to even though my previous experience have been less than par. There was a table of four adults and six children. We were assigned one waiter who did an amazing job. He brought out the kids meal first without even asking. Any parent knows that's a god send. Our meals were presented a short while later. I got the $6.99 Southwest Steak Flatbread with a choice of house or casear salad. I opted for the latter. The steak was cooked perfectly and all the flavors came together very nicely. My boyfriend asked for a casear salad and he just added it onto the bill for $2.99 to go with my entree instead of full price which I thought it was nice. With such a large table he handled it magnificently and our drinks were never empty. I'm glad to see service has improved since visiting. One disclaimer - eve though the zinger mountain melt looks fantastic it's super bland. I always fall for it because it looks so good, but I'm always disappointed. Meh. We were in this area camping and for the Orlando/Sanford air show and after the show we didn't want to go back to the camper and cook so we looked and YESSSS Millers Ale house! I go to Millers Ale house for 1 thing - Chicken Philly Sandwich. I used to get a Thai type of chicken salad as well and hubby and I would split the 2 but they no longer have that salad. So I am super excited for the best Chicken Philly I have ever had in my life (which I have always had at any other Millers Ale house) and the sandwich arrives, and I am so excited and I bite into it and its ......dry and bland. What a let down. Nothing like the chicken philly's I have had at all the other Miller's ale house. I hope management looks into this as I am sure they share recipes but somehow they dropped the ball for me. I ordered 35 shrimp with fries, lemon tarter sauce and cocktail sauce. I had door dash pick it up from Sanford and bring it to deltona. The driver drops off the order and there is no lemon or cocktail sauce. I ask for these things because that's what I like when I'm eating shrimp. I hold the manager ultimately responsible because he can't hire a crew that cares how a to go order goes out or that are to incompetent to understand directions. We have been coming to this place for years but recently they decided to put the utensils and napkins that we have to eat with out front by the hostess stand so that everyone in the room can cough, breath and whatever else on them.
