Came in here for a quick bite. Had the Station Nachos - Fresh fried Cajun seasoned house chips, melted cheese, house Pico, pickled jalapeños and steak. The steak was actually pretty amazing. Service was attentive and the place is super interesting to just look around at everything on the walls. Though I didn't drink, looking at the beer list I wish it had more craft offerings on draft. They seemed to be much more dog-friendly than the sign inside would indicate. Maybe it is because they had the big doors open, either way -- glad to see it on that front. read more

I ordered lunch for delivery, so I can't speak to the atmosphere of the restaurant, but the food was disappointing. I ordered the chicken Caesar wrap, which had very little filling and almost no dressing. The tots were okay, but very oily. They were also supposed to come with spicy mayo, which they didn't. We had just enough time before flying out of Sanford to stop at The Station Bat & Grub to enjoy the scenery, catch some football, and have a drink and app. There were a few people sitting outside around one TV watching a game, but we chose bar seats inside. The station is decorated from head to toe in sports memorabilia, vintage fire station equipment, road signs, etc. I love all of the original elements and the exposed brick. I thought they had quite a large draft selection and we thought the chicken tenders appetizer we split was deliciously and fairly priced. Our bartender wasn't the most friendly, but we've definitely experienced worse before. I think if she was a little more animated and friendly, it would've been a 10/10 experience. I would still love to go back and try more menu items. Everything that went out the kitchen looked and smelled amazing. read more

The food was great. We stopped in on a Tuesday at about 7pm. It was very busy. The only open low top tables were the picnic tables when you first walk in. There was trivia going on, which was fun but loud. So don't go for conversations. The server was nice but it took a long time for the food to come out. We put in an order for an app a while before we put in our food order. I don't mind when food takes a while because I understand small businesses and have worked food service. But our dinner still came out before our appetizer. Which isn't ideal. That's the only reason 4 stars. On another night, it might be 5. Just not their banner night. I would go again. read more

We tried out The Station with some friends on a recent Friday night. Arriving at 6pm, the restaurant hadn't quite gotten super busy yet. We had a wide range of tables to pick from. For appetizers, we ordered chips and salsa. Both were delicious and the chips seemed to be homemade. Our friends had mozzarella sticks and loved them. For entrees, I had a buffalo chicken wrap (super messy but good), my husband the pork quesadilla, and we split tots. All was delicious just super messy. Our friends had wings, tots, grilled cheese and enjoyed all. Our waitress was very sweet and did a great job. I wish I remembered her name. The vibe inside is cool! It would be awesome to watch a game here. They provide board games on the tables. We will be back! read more

Good bar food, very good fries and tots. Atmosphere is good and the firehouse theming is nice, but the music is a bit loud. There were a few times our waitress couldn't hear us and it lead to miscommunications a couple times and our waitress was a LITTLE rude about it. Nothing major. Side note the pretzel bites aren't really pretzels and are more like bread chunks. They were still good, but not what we expected. The burger was cooked well done, but good. The double is a bit overkill so a single would be enough. Everyone else in my party complimented the food, especially the tots and fries. We'd come back just for them. read more

Great sports bar with great food! Lots of TVs to catch the game of your desire, although they do seem to be a regular Buffalo Bills Bar. I've eaten here a few times and always enjoyed what I've ordered whether it's the loaded fries or a sandwich. The service is usually prompt, although in my experience not overly fantastic.... We had to make a stop in before flying out of Orlando. They had wine which was a huge win! The inside is very cool, it looks like an old parking garage. The staff were decent to us. We wanted something to share and opted for the buffalo wrap, it was absolutely delicious and the lemon, dill ranch was the best! I was a little disappointed that fries or a side were extra so keep that in mind when ordering. If we are ever out this way again we will definitely come back. read more

Not sure how this place has less than a 4 star overall rating. Food came out fast and not only was fresh but soooooo tasty. We went with the tenders and chicken wrap. Both plates were amazing. I like to think of myself as a chicken finger connoisseur and these were probably the best restaurant chicken fingers I have had. I really didn't want to live this places since it's a Buffalo Bills bar (we did not know that ahead of time, we are huge Miami Dolphins fans) but it really was great. read more

Great first visit here today to the unassuming Station Bar & Grub. Any place that puts "Grub" in their name does not put on airs. Walk in and grab a seat, at the bar, at a booth. This Sanford local bar is the perfect place to catch the game, which is why I wiled away a couple hours here (watching GB lose to the Bucs - AARRGGHH!) after enjoying a damn good herb-marinated (blackened) chicken sandwich. My server was attentive, but did not hover, which I prefer. Especially when I'm screaming at the refs on the TV. The Station honors firefighters and the decor throughout is just the right amount to pay respect. Lots of unique beer options, including IPAs. I don't know what any of that means because I'm not a fan of beer, but I can see where others would appreciate. Sanford, I fall a little more in love with you every day, and The Station is just another reason why. read more

We dropped in after food somewhere else to check them out as I've long been curious about the building becoming a foodie venue. It's a pretty cool space and looks promising. I don't get up to Sanford all that often so I was excited to check out the Station. It Looked like my kind of sports bar with lots of TVs and sports memorabilia. We were very hungry and some sports bar fare seemed right. Unfortunately we never got to eat. The male bar tender gave us a menu and I asked what he would suggest. He replied " we're on the event menu, so the Buffalo chicken wrap is what most people get" he did not seem interested in being there. He went down the bar and started talking with some buddies. There was a music festival going on. I guess they have a special menu for big events. But there were 4 tables in there and 2 people at the bar. If you can't deliver the items on your menu when the place fills up, then you have no business in "The business" There are so many places for me to choose to spend my money I will never tolerate poor service and feeling like my business is a bother to you. The hiring of the right service personnel is as important as what you are serving. I'll be back to Sanford to check out some other places but won't ever be stopping at this Station again read more

First time in Sandford last night. We did a lot of walking around. Decided on the Station for dinner. It was a great choice. Comfortable seating and great service. Joe was our waiter and took great care of us. My husband said the steak tacos were amazing and the best he's ever had! Seriously. He just told me to stop talking about them or we were driving the hour to go back and order them again today! I had the nacho's. The chips were Cajun seasoned, a really nice touch. Very good and filling. My son had the wings with a spicy ranch and it was spicy. His friend had the Station Burger. All the food was great! We would totally go again. We also played the longest game of Uno ever to which my son finally won. They have games at each table. What a great touch and was much appreciated. Fun new find in Sanford. The food was delicious, although we both had the braised pork. Mine was in the super yummy tacos with lots of cool ingredients like avocado, pickled onions and cotija cheese. His was on the pork tostones. Both were stuffed or piled to the hilt with the super tender, tasty meat. We came here for lunch on a quiet Wednesday afternoon. My girlfriend doesn't eat meat so we ordered the garlic grilled cheese sandwich and a caprese sandwich. The grilled cheese sandwich had four different cheeses. Top of bread had a light basil sauce and it came with a tomato dipping sauce. The Caprese sandwich was full of flavor and optional you can add a portobello mushroom. We also ordered a basket of the firehouse fries and they were served hot and crispy with truffle oil and a light dusting of herbs. I just had an iced tea but my friend had a Jack and Coke which was $10. I think that was high compared to the other restaurants in Sanford where we can get one for a couple dollars cheaper. There was only one waitress working that day so service was a little slow but we were in no rush and we enjoyed our food. I would come here again. read more

We tried to go to the Old Jailhouse but they were completely booked for the entire night. It was late and we were hungry and this is next door. The atmosphere is fun. Bar, tables and a few couches. Even a few outdoor tables. It's got a fire station theme and lots of TVs with sports playing. Service was slow, but they were busy and seemed understaffed like everywhere. I had a pineapple cider on tap ($7) and a grilled herb chicken sandwich and fries. Food was good. This is downtown Sanford so parking is a little bit of a pain. read more

Dropped into The Station Bar & Grub for their opening night on October 30, what a "hot" concept. Loved the DJ booth in the fire truck. Think this place will be poppin' in downtown Sanford. They have a disco ball, upbeat party music, lots of screens to watch sports, and many many taps! Felt like this place had a gay-friendly vibe, maybe it was the jumbo mural of the firefighter...my friends didn't think this, but the disco ball gave me some dance party feels. Looking forward to coming back to try their food. Overall I loved the vibes and bartenders were friendly. There was a nice selection of curated beers, ciders, and hard water from various locales. Will come back again when I'm nearby and I love that this building has been restored to such a lovely look. Will be back next time I'm Sanfording! read more

We spent the day in Sanford on Saturday and were looking for a place for lunch, happened to walk by Station! Ambiance: really cool place with a nice, laid back kind of vibe. We loved the decor keeping in tune with the fire station history (the jail house is right next door, but looked a little more "up scale"). Several TVs throughout the restaurant, fun place to watch sports! Food: We really enjoyed our food! Everything, with the exception of the cajun chips, was so good! (Chips were just kind of bland.) The fries were delicious on their own, but even better loaded! And they weren't loaded with just a layer of stuff on top and then nothing - the cheese and bacon were all throughout! I wouldn't usually order chicken tenders, but I was craving them for some reason and these did not disappoint! I didn't love the dippers I got (root beer bbq and honey garlic Buffalo), but that may have just been me. Ended up getting a dipper of lemon dill ranch, wasn't sure about the "lemon dill" part, but it ended up being quite tasty! Service: this is where I left out a star. Our server was barely attentive. I could see our drinks at the bar where he walked by several times, chatting with the bartenders and other servers but not seeing drinks sitting there. We had to ask for water three times, still didn't get it. I ended up going to the bar to ask for some and one of the girls back there ended up bringing us our water, next drinks, and entrees. We didn't see our server again until it was time to pay. This wasn't his fault, but they take payment on a tablet where you tip and sign with the server standing right over you - didn't really like that either. We came here because next door was full and we were starving. Next door is the Old Jailhouse which is the same owner of The Station. I wondered why there weren't many people in the Station whilst everywhere else downtown was packed. The burger I ordered seemed like a frozen patty unfortunately and completely overdone. Rubbery. My boyfriend also got an entirely different sandwich than he actually ordered. He ordered a grilled chicken herb based sandwich and he received a fried buffalo chicken sandwich. We were too hungry to send it back and wait haha. Service is was alright.. had to keep asking for basic stuff. The loaded fries were phenomenal. I'd go back for a beer and the loaded fries! We took the sun rail to downtown Sanford to go for a walk and got hungry and saw this place that seems laid back and cool. We happen to go on a Monday so they had bogo wings so of course we went with that! The wings were big and good and all their sauces were delicious! Love that they give them to you on the side so we got a variety of sauces. We also tried their loaded fries and Cajun chips and that was also so good.
