The food is surprisingly good for pub food! I love all the TVs for watching sports. This pub used to have an incredible whiskey selection. After the refresh, I'm not sure if that is the case. The bottles are much harder to see. I'm not thrilled that the number of bar seats has been reduced and the place is loud. A bit of sound insulation would be welcome here. A Chicago style bar, it was only right to check it out. Today was musical bingo night and I sat in for a couple of rounds. We sat at the bar. Bar staff were friendly as well. They had a Taco Tuesday special which I believe all places should have on Tuesdays lol. Me and my girlfriend had a couple shots of Patron and enjoyed the ice cream churros. Friendly confines is a friendly place, the servers are friendly and check on you and make sure your drinks are full. However, this place needs a deep cleaning. The women's room has a lot of dust and water damage on the ceiling and black spots on the ceiling -this could be a health issue. Not so friendly Confines! Walked in and out after sitting at the bar for like five minutes with three waitresses standing right in front of me. Now, I saw they saw me but for whatever reason they didn't acknowledge me at all. Not until I got up and was on my way out, at least. Though they should, they don't get slapped with a one for that @#$! because I happened to carry a hefty bar tab with them back in the day at the old Waterford Lakes location. I couldn't do another free shot of Jager or listen to so much Skah ever again. Ever...but thanks to bar tab bingo, I didn't pick up a check on a Thursday night at that place for years! I travel quite frequently for my work and when on the road; I stop in at many local restaurants and sports bars, to try the local food fare and just take in some relaxation. Yesterday, I heard about Friendly Confines in Winter Park, apparently they own others in the area...fast forward soon in this review....The menu was vast and I actually had a hard time picking what to get, since it was lunchtime; I went to the lighter side and went with a Blackened Shrimp Greek Salad...holy cow! When the salad arrived it was massive and full of shrimp and all kinds of goodies like peppers, onions, feta, tomatoes, olives, cucumbers and the dressing was amazing, see the pic! By far, one of the best salads I have had and I could not come close to finishing it...my bartender Anna Lee was awesome and I watched the owner and manager constantly working the floor and talking to guests, this place is a must! Now, after lunch I was headed to Lake Mary and Anna Lee told me to check out their other location there, what a coincidence...my first thought was, I'm trying one of the other items I didn't get to try at Winter Park... I got to the Lake Mary location close to 7! They were actually about to have a Free Movie Trivie game featuring Ferris Bueller and Weird Science...well, I love those movies and I said put me in Coach! So, I grabbed a seat and was greeted by two Kelly's working the bar! I immediately ordered the Italian Beef w/ Mozz and an ice cold beer..they knocked that Sandwhich out of the park! It too was huge and delicious! I get all of this and play a super fun game while eating. Folks, take the time to visit either Friendly Confines in Winter Park or Lake Mary, if you are ever near them. Always drove by this place in Lake Mary and finally gave it a try -- and it did not disappoint! For a chain company, it's the perfect place to sit back and relax to start or end your day! I had a couple of Kona beers and ordered a 6 piece "claws," which are basically boneless chicken tenders (garlic teriyaki). It was delicious and you can mix any kind of sauces together to make it your own! This is a great little sports bar located in Lake Mary FL. I usually come here with a group of co-workers at the end of the long work week to help get the weekend started. If you can get here before 500pm they have discounted prices on some of their food and drink items. My go-to's are a pitcher of yuengling for $7.50 and 10-12 Cubbie Claws .75 cents each. I haven't had a bad meal yet but I have never had a fabulous meal either. In the past I have ordered cubbie claws, waffle fries, loaded waffle fries, Nachos, pasta bowls, soups, salads and sandwiches. These items are fairly priced and hit the spot with a cold beer. We are regulars here so we have come to know several of the waitresses. They all do a great job and are easy to get along with. If you ever have an issue with your food or drink let them know, they will take care of the issue without hesitation. Definitely give them a chance if you haven't yet. Went Friday night with some friends, we haven't been here since last year... it's a typical bar with bar type food... the good and drinks are petty consistent... nothing great but if you're in the mood for dive bar this will likely suit your mood. It's a pretty big place and they did have people spaced out really well. All the menus are QR code which was very nice to see and there are no condiments on the table, you have to request them (also good!) I got the turkey burger, it's def a frozen patty but pretty good... a few people for regular burgers and one friend got the Chicago beef hot dog. Overall the food was 100% consistent to how it was the last time we were there. The drinks were pretty cheap too which is always a bonus. My one complaint is that most of the servers were either wearing their masks below their chin or not wearing one at all. A little disappointed to see that but I will clarify that our server always had a mask on when she was at our table. For a Sports Bar, this place excels. It's loud inside, but they also have an outdoor area in the back. Came here on a Friday night, & was easily able to get a seat at the bar by the front door. Was greeted by a bartender in 5 minutes or less. Friday happens to be fish night specials. I did get the Baramundie, fried, fish and chips style, and it was excellent. Very noisy sports themed place but as long as you know that going in, which you really should expect, then the ambience is great. They have football games spread out though out the place and you can try to sit near the game you want to watch. College or pro. Usually some sports playing all the time. The food is great. Fresh and hot. The only reason I didn't give it a 5 is because they change the menu every so often and remove good things that used to be on it. Bring back the cheesy tots!!
