Everything here is so good. Their custard is the best I've ever had. The employees are so sweet & patient while choosing what you want to get.

Great place for ice cream! They have a lot of options. They have hard ice cream, soft ice cream, custard, sundaes, and many toppings. It has a cool atmosphere, a 50s atmosphere. If your in Boston that's a great place to stop, especially in summer.

So unique and retro! You can eat at the cars! They have tables

However, liquid nitrogen canisters were nowhere to be found as all of their stuff came out of boxes. I thought the entire draw of using molecular gastronomy was to flair involved in making the food, not necessarily the end product. And because of that and the weather, their ice cream was put at a big disadvantage. Yet they still managed to win the rookie-of-the-year award at the competition. At least one of the workers there let me get 2 items worth 10 tickets for 9 b/c that's all I had left. I had the "Have your cake and eat it too" (aka cake batter ice cream) and a "Nitro Pop". Neither really all that special.

I was intrigued when visiting the Galleria to quickly pay some bills. Located on the second floor right outside of Macy's, it's worth to stop even just to watch and to be amazed. Three employees where quickly moving around the little shop amist a gathering of people just as curious as I was. The large tanks of nitrogen were spouting the gas and the ice cream creators were quickly stirring the concoction as the ohhs and ahhs were being heard. You could either get a flavor of nitro cream and add your own toppings or there is also a list of sundae-like menu options. Flavors like vanilla, chocolate, mint, strawberry, cake batter, pitschao, and coffee were options. The saying of Go big or go home flashed in my mind. So I ended up going with Nitro Mike's Fav which was cake batter ice cream with cookie dough, peanut butter mixed it. The ice cream was very creamy and yet seemed a little less heavy than a typical Perry's offering. The price ended up being just over $6 with tax. They apparently also catering at special events like weddings and birthdays which is a pretty cool idea. The employee who made my order also mentioned that more franchises are coming. But right now they are only at the Walden Galleria mall. As much of a haven of canadiens that the Galleria has become, I feel I'll bear it to have some more of their ice cream!

Our crisp, cold salads were served with a small loaf of warm bread accompanied by two spreads. The shrimp and grits were scrumptious, with plenty to take home, my husband's steak was cooked to perfection. We shared a crème brûlée with the crisp topping and luscious vanilla bean crème. The live music on a weeknight added to the atmosphere. Decor is interesting to look at as many antique pieces pay homage to the history of the building as a mill. Ample parking in front and directly across the street. Ramp system was bumpy, but certainly accessible. The owner/ bartender was hospitable and grateful for the patronage. Thanks, Chuck!

Somehow they were down to one chef and the host made sure he could adequately accommodate us before even agreeing to seat us. WHO DOES THAT? Everyone else practically would just park you and cross their fingers -if they cared at all. Onion soup was very (sherry? Champagne?) vinegar forward. Uncommon flavor but good. They actually whipped up a Beef Stroganoff for me without alcohol which was also really tender but a tad disappointingly served on bow ties which I love -but I specifically asked and was told it was served over noodles. (Especially when another menu item came with pappardelle which I adore). One tablemate had bacon wrapped meatloaf he really enjoyed - and had to be 2/3 lb of meat. The fish was a head-scratcher...Billed as a curried and beer (IPA?) battered haddock what arrived was curry free and had no discernable trace of batter. The poor thing was encased in a thick wall of panko and absolutely incinerated in the deep fryer. The fish itself however, was done to a turn. The fries may as well have been mashed potatoes. WHY DOES EVERYONE MAKE SCRATCH FRIES THESE DAYS? No one knows how! I will, however, definitely give them another chance for sure. Partially because they were shorthanded but mostly because of our wonderful dining room staff. They were (understandably) unable to accommodate my request for coarse salt despite reporting having searched all over. I believed them too because the level of service was just that good. And..would't you know it?... a few minutes later after i gave up on it - didn't they find some for me? WHO DOES THAT? Oh! And get this! At the very last minute after the bill was almost certainly tallied, as we were about to settle they arranged for us to have 3 separate checks! WHO DOES THAT??? The Colden Mill does that!

We went with the Uncle Papi, which can only be described as pizza and a fried chicken sandwich having a beautiful, messy love child. The chicken filet was impressively large, and the Sunday sauce? So good it would absolutely earn a seal of approval from my Italian grandma. The fries were plentiful, and while I regret not testing one of their fun dipping sauces, the house-made blue cheese did not disappoint. We also ordered the Messy Pressy (aka the poutine burger), and it lived up to its name in the best possible way. Delicious, indulgent, and led to a nap on the ride home. Already looking forward to coming back--and possibly making it a personal goal to work my way through every burger and sandwich on the menu. Those brunch burgs are calling my name, and I'm not ignoring them.

I'd never before seen sourdough croissants or cheese danishes; there's an abundance of gorgeous loaves/boules for sale. (Cheese fondue supplies! Yes!!). A baker's rack to the right sells day-old bread at discounted prices (make your own croutons!) I opted for an almond (sourdough) croissant and a small coffee; I was asked if I wanted a mug or a to go cup? I was given a beautiful glazed mug - very charming! Two things worth mentioning: There's a small seating area downstairs, and five large tables upstairs. The stairs? A polite way of describing them is, "grandfathered-in". The rise/run makes it difficult to navigate if you're in thick boots, carrying a child, or have stiff knees. The pastry had a beautiful crunch. I enjoyed the almond flavor. And then I found: cherry preserves? I'm aware that "croissant et confiture" (eaten with jam) is a standard French breakfast, but it did change the mouth feel of the treat. I'd recommend this place to anyone wanting to try something earthier and beautifully executed.
