Ordered a single cheesesteak which is served on a 12" soft squishy white bread hoagie roll. Rolls made by Angelo Pacifico & Sons in Altoona, PA. Didn't think I could finish it all, so I mentioned I'd take half of it to go and eat half to stay at the tables inside the shop. They kindly pre-wrapped my to-go half in an aluminum and paper sandwich wrap with tape to hold it, and plated the half to stay on a small paper plate with plastic fork. Very kind to do that even when I said I'd be happy to do it myself with a to go wrapper. I ordered the cheesesteak with peppers and onions and a dash of vinegar and oil. The beef cheesesteak was similar to a flank steak cut chopped into easy to bite shreds. My cousin ordered a chicken cheesesteak with grilled onions, peppers, mushrooms, shredded lettuce, thin sliced tomato, and mayo. The chicken seemed to be mostly white meat chopped into easy to bite shreds as well. Good selection of local sweet flavored teas and chocolate milk from Ritchey's Dairy in Martinsburg, PA, and Coca Cola soda products in the coolers to choose from. Locally made chips from Middleswarth in Lewistown, PA. Total for 2 Single 12" Hoagies & an Iced Tea just under $18. Payment accepted in Visa, Mastercard, Discover, Apple Pay, and Cash. Miller's is one of my favorite lunch stops. It's in the basement of a home that's off Interstate 80 in Milesburg, PA. I've been coming to Miller's for the last 15 years. I come often enough that the workers know my name and try to guess my order. Several of the workers have been here for over the 15 years of my visits. It's a small hoagie and salad quick stop with indoor seating. I typically order the "regular" which is more like an american style hoagie with ham, bologna and cheese. Miller's puts all the toppings on the bottom of the bun and they roll the meat into a circle and place it on top (see pic). It's weird but I ball the hoagie up and eat it just fine. There's various other hoagie options (e.g. roast beef, turkey, ham, canadian bacon, etc.) but all on the same locally made white bun with various toppings. Miller's offers hot subs and I love their cheese steak. It has large chunks of meat and really great flavor. You can add onion, peppers and mushrooms, as desired, while they grill it to order. The staff are super friendly and I always enjoy talking with them. As always, pair any sandwich with a bag of Middleswarth BBQ chips to be truly in Central Pennsylvania heaven! read more

We were driving back across route 80 back home and we found this place that was a few minute off the highway. This place is as local as you can get. The place is actually part of a house. I almost missed it. Menu was very simple. Staff members were very nice. Not wearing masks. There was plexi-glass at the counter. There are few tables for indoor dining. No outdoor dining available. Hand sanitizer is available. Very old school but sandwiches were solid! I got grilled chicken with onions mushrooms and peppers. My husband got the cheesesteak with grilled onions, mushrooms, and peppers. Choose your meat and add your toppings basically! There are hot and cold hoagies available to your liking. They also use their own special seasoning that was pretty good! No idea what was in it but very flavorful. Beware of how messy it gets get lots of napkins! read more

Went off the beaten path today for lunch on our trek across Pennsylvania. Miller's was worth the extra mile off of I-80. The hoagies are so much better than a fast food hoagie. The ingredients were fresh, literally being taken out of the refrigerator as they made our sandwiches, compared to fast food sandwich places with all of the ingredients laid out for the day. The staff was welcoming and efficient. If I lived in the area, I'd be here for breakfast or lunch regularly! The only reason for not giving 5 stars is because my husband really wanted a wrap. I grew up in Southern NJ, the land of hoagies, so I was curious to try this local spot out in Milesburg, and how it held up to the multitude of hoagies I've had before. It's a little out of the way, and the location is a little unassuming, but well kept. It was definitely not what I was expecting, but wasn't terrible. The hoagie rolls are pretty unspectacular and it's constructed kind of weird, with the veggies and wet ingredients under the rolled-up meat and cheese. I took mine to-go, and by the time I got home, the bottom of the roll was a little weak and was breaking apart. For the price, it wasn't a bad lunch, but I probably won't go out of my way to go back unless I'm passing by anyway. read more

But while I was in there I heard the staff get off the phone with a customer and start complaining, WHILE I WAS IN THERE, and all the person asked was if they had lebanon bologna. staff told someone else "have they never been here before. jeez no we don't have fucking lebanon bologna" I will never go back because of that. Do not complain about customers while you have customers in your store. The first time I went was around 8:30 to get a cheese stake. This story is crazy- The regular hoagies were just okay, because the bread was smashed and shouldn't have been sold. The service was absolutely terrible! The nice couple a head of me were mistakenly charged for my chocolate milk. When brought to their attention, they said, "don't worry about it, it's our good deed for the day!". I looked at them and said, "Thank you". They smiled at me and said that I was welcome, as they walked out the door... Suddenly, the hoagie-maker told the cashier to deduct the $3 milk transaction. She did, then, took that money out of the cash register and placed in their tip jar!!! I said, "Waaaait a minute! Do you want me to run out there and tell them what you're trying to do? I have hundreds in my wallet. But, it's the point of the matter here!" Realizing that I had caught their scheme, the disturbed sandwich-maker asked the cashier if the couple had wanted to pay for my milk. She said, yes... As the cashier returned the 3$ to the till, the hoggie woman started slamming and banging around the prep station. They made me feel like they wanted to take from me the kind deed which someone had done for me just a moment sooner. The made me feel unwelcome for coming there to buy their food, as their scowled facial expressions left me to leave. I walked out feeling uncomfortable and disgusted. The hoagies weren't that good, either. I know, the bad attitude w/ their workers is common. Two years ago, it was another situation with a dingy server. I am born and raised from this area. It seems, that unless they know someone personally, they tend to treat them like crap, or, in this case, steal from them. Maybe, the owners can't find professionals to work for them? Okay hoagie but nothing to make a special trip to Milesburg for. The prices were very reasonable. Tuna salad was sweet and too much mayo and the regular was just okay. The regular had ham, turkey, bologna, and provolone. The rolls were pretty good, but not too special. Let me start by saying that the staff here was very friendly and accommodating. They were definitely the highlight of our visit. I ordered a regular sub which they said was their take on an Italian. I was disappointed that it only had ham and bologna on it. From what I could tell they do not even offer salami or pepperoni on any of their sandwiches so the meat selection seems pretty limited. I'll definitely rate Miller's Hoagies 5 stars. I live a hop skip and a jump from here and never once has it been a negative experience. I probably enjoy this type of "Hoagie" more than other reviewers because it is what I grew up with. Always order the Double Regular with lettice, tomato, extra onions, banana peppers, pepper relish, dry peppers, oil, salt, pepper, and sage. Goes great with chocolate milk. We were enroute from Chicago to the Poconos and stopped at this sandwich shop. Always looking for regional fare and this did not disappoint. We are a family of 5 and the kids are 3 to 13 and everyone was happy with their Hoagie. Cheesesteak was tender, Hamburger Hoagie was delicious and the cold subs were tasty. The chips they offered were really good, never heard of that brand. Everyone else in the restaurant was having chocolate milk with their sandwich, must be the thing to do, we must have stuck out drinking our tea and soda.
