It was a nice experience to walk the grounds near the water features which at one time where old mills. If you enjoy some mild hiking in a controlled environment with plenty of signage to lead you back to the parking area I recommend this place. Some of the hiking trails were pretty to traverse and I truly felt like I was in the forest.

He was able to take 6 for a banana boat ride while 2 sat in the boat and took pictures. We had 11 people for the banana boat so he made 2 trips for us. Everyone had a great time from the youngest (5 yrs.) to grandma and grandpa. Keith was so accommodating to all the needs of our large group and everyone liked him so much. My husband and boys went fishing and caught a couple fluke. The boys were excited to catch a couple of crabs and robinfish as well. We definitely felt like VIPs and we will only use Fire Island VIP for our yearly vacation from now on! Thanks for a great time we all thought it was awesome!

Sometimes I…read moreget trapped by finding a park and thinking I'm going to take a good hike and even though I'm a librarian I didn't look into it properly and than I realize it's a pretty small park. I wanted to go to caleb smith state park but they were closed so I found this one while driving and got out to explore. It looks like it's mainly for fishing or just relaxing. When I was there one man was fishing. I walked the little bit of park area and into a tiny patch of woods nearby just to be outside and get some scenery but I could have used a longer walk. Not a bad park just not for a hardcore hike if you're looking for that.
