Nobody called so I called back on Friday after waiting 4 days for a callback. I was given a date for installation and when the 2 gentlemen arrived they were not prepared to do the job. They did not have enough trim pieces (the owner was the one who came and measured). The owner came over and said that he had to go to Knoxville to get more. He came back with more and after 71/2 hours the job was done. The owner also measured the tile incorrectly as we have 3 brand new unused boxes of tile left. We were also told that they could not get 2- 10# bags of grout and we would have to have a 25# bag. We accepted that but when we went to pay the balance they charged us for the other piece of trim that he clearly mismeasured. The whole job seemed very ill prepared. The owner also told me on the phone that he had not heard from his installers for a week. There were a lot of untruths that do not sit well with us. Maybe they should stick to floorimg

Installers rushed a two day job in one day-didn't match the seams, did not nail down the tacks, (my mother stepped on a tack!) and left some of the job undone. We complained and they said they would send someone out and they never showed. We complained and someone finally came out to repair some of the spots. It was a hassle and took 3 weeks, from the start of the install. I don't recommend them. They gave us a 5% discount after we requested compensation.

So, I happened to go to TSC and noticed Phil's Carpet. I went inside and was introduced to Eddie -a sales representative. Eddie was great at listening to my needs. A true people person. After getting 12 samples and some additional information, I was able to proceed. I paid half down and balance at the end. Phil's is not an absolute store but a flexible one. Next, Eddie worked miracles with scheduling and I got an early morning install. Roberto and Axel came at the promised time to the second! After a few minutes of viewing the area to be carpeted, Roberto went to work. Padding down carpeting down and it was over. Quality assurance was performed from start to finish. There were no loose fibers to be seen. In all, Phil's Carpet is one of the best flooring stores in our area. I would go to Phil's before trying Knoxville stores.
