We got there on a Saturday before opening and sat in the outdoor seating area out front. They open at 9am and opened right on the dot. The lady working there was so kind and offered to turn on the fireplace for us. The inside was super cute and cozy, with a French-inspired café vibe. You grab your own silverware and they also have hot sauce out for anyone to take. There are quite a lot of choices, so it was hard to choose just one. I ordered the ham & cheese crepe ($13) and my friend ordered the apple cinnamon & brown butter crepe ($8). We waited about 8-10 minutes, and both were really delicious! The ham & cheese was warm, savory, and super yummy for a morning breakfast meal. The apple cinnamon & brown butter crepe is a perfect choice for any sweet tooth lovers. I tried a savory crepe from Millie's few months back, and didn't think they were amazing.. but decided to give them another try. Well, while the sweet crepe was not too bad(could be crispier in my opinion), the woman making the crepes, had one glove on, and was touching all the doors and machines, along with the cash register, and then touching all the fillings and cheese with that same hand with the dirty glove on. While my kids love this place, They also don't know the difference in legit crepes. We've had the savory menu a few times now. The consistency is hit or miss. Tonight the ingredients were like super stuffed American grotesque (might as well been in a mall). I am speaking about the salmon tomato number. The pear/goats cheese/walnut crepe on the other hand was sparse and lacked any interest (maybe add arugula?). The pear was mealy overly ripe and mushy and the walnuts were raw. Okay, i did just come back from Paris last month and how can these be better!?! My classic lemon and sugar was perfect , soft on the inside, crunch on the outside. Tried a bite of Strawberry and Nutella OMG (ps i don't care for Nutella nor Chocolate but had to take 3 bites!) !! So tasty! The outdoor seating was so nice and chill at the edge of The Mill, where the sun shined on you and barely anyone passes by- I shared another crepe of Lemon Curd and Blueberries- so good but i am the classic lemon sugar fave for sure. Lemon Blueberry was more substantial. I really want to try a savory but just can't decide. Maybe the Goat cheese, Pear, honey and walnuts? "It is!" so nice to have a crepe place in town! Glad to have a creperie locally but these were laughable. We ordered the Nutella strawberry and banana crepe and the dulce de leche with banana crepe. The fruits are incredibly thinly sliced that you can't even tell there are any strawberry or banana in it at all. I had to ask the gentleman making it to remove one of the very few strawberry slices because it looked old. You also must pay another $0.50 for whipped cream. What a joke! The staff working was incredibly nice and friendly but if you're looking for a quality crepe stick to Crepevine or find one at the Wharf where the fruit and Nutella are well balanced in every bite... disappointed. I was super excited to hear about a crepe place so close to work where I could stop by during breaks. Millie's crepe is a very small shop, but with some outdoor seating. You get to watch your crepe being made as you wait which I find very fun. I don't know if it's just me, but I enjoy watching my food being prepared. Millie's have a selection of 18 crepes and the majority is sweet which I can appreciate. The staff were very nice and friendly. When I stopped by, business was buzzing and I took it as a good sign. I ordered 4 crepes being 2 savory and 2 sweet. I can safely say they got their savory flavors down. The crepes were tasty and they came with enough filling. As for the sweet flavors, I thought the crepes were lacking a little. There weren't enough filling and the crepe itself seemed to be a little undercooked or soggy. Wow wow wow!! I have been waiting for Millie's to open by this mother daughter duo for a while now and it did NOT disappoint. Let's start with some background. The owners used to own and run The Siren in Stinson beach and decided to close it right before COVID. I had heard that they were going to open a creperie in mill valley, and was so excited because I knew the owner had lived in France for many years. Fast forward a couple of months and voila - Millie's at the Lumberyard is open! Now let's talk about the food. I had the savory crepe with smoked salmon and chives. Magnifique! Perfectly filling, great ratio of crepe to cheese to salmon, and fresh chives to bring out the flavors. The crepe itself was delightfully thin and perfectly chewy. And the service was friendly, welcoming and efficient. I heard there was a long line over the weekend - be prepared to wait and it'll be worth it, I swear! I haven't had their soft serve yet but honestly given I sometimes drive over the hill to get soft serve from Pico, I'm beyond excited to try their olive oil and sea salt topping. We've been needing an ice cream spot in MV for a while now. Really cute little ice cream and crepe shop! There are a variety of items, with crepes ranging from sweet to savory. Ice cream is Double8 Dairy vanilla soft serve and can come with a topping for 50 cents extra, including strawberries, chocolate, caramel, sprinkles, and more. They have a kids ice cream starting at $3.50 ($4 with topping) and normal size is $4.50, so prices are pretty decent. We got a kids and regular both topped with strawberry and a strawberry milkshake ($7). Everything was great for a refreshing treat on a warm day and prices were reasonable. The lady (owner?) has no customer service skills. Rude af. We got there 15 minutes after opening. We were the only ones (it was a weekday). When I went to place an order, she was busy doing some kind of paperwork. Said a curt "hi" and then went back to whatever she was doing at the counter. I placed an order for 3 crepes and drinks. All the while I was talking to her, she was preoccupied. She rang up the order and I paid. The transaction felt so cold. No friendly smile or eye contact. When the food was ready, 2 crepes had the wrong filling. She just stared at me when I said it was missing ham. No remedy. No oh I'm sorry I may have gotten your order wrong. Or sorry I didn't hear you. Even if she was adamant I got what I ordered, don't give me attitude about it. And there was plenty reason for getting my order wrong! She was busy doing something else while standing at the counter taking my order! If she wasn't ready to open the store, then don't. Believe it or not, she has so far uttered only one word which was hi. Not even a thank you after I paid. And then I got a dumb stare when I went to ask about the missing filling. It would have made it better if the crepes were good. But they were mediocre. Being savory crepes, they were severely under seasoned. One had spinach and another had tomatoes. It's a small storefront tucked away in a perfectly private part of the Mill Valley Lumber collaborative. Great spot to get away from the bustle.
