If you're looking for a wonderful hamburger, not a lot of frills, and an exceptionally clean eatery, this is your place. I know Milo's mostly from their exceptional jugs of sweet tea and diet tea that they sell in the supermarkets. It is become my go to for tea. I've never eaten in one of the restaurants until today. I pulled in. I was hungry. The menu is pretty straightforward. They have a lot of different stuff, sandwiches and bits and pieces of interesting things but what I really wanted was a good cheese cheeseburger. The young lady at the counter suggested the double cheese which I had with an order of crinkle cut fries And a large sweet tea. Everything was excellent, the burger sauce, the cheese, the patties, even the sunbeam buns. It's nothing outstanding or out of the ordinary or gourmet. What it is is good, something that you won't find at a chain burger joint most of the time. It's staffed by friendly people and they're willing to help you decide what to order. Customer service was FANTASTIC! When we arrived we were warmly greeted and given a brief history and rundown of the menu. Our food came to us quickly and it was fresh, hot, and delicious. We were given great suggestions and even checked on periodically as we ate to see if we needed anything. When you eat here make sure to ask for some extra Milo's sauce! It's phenomenal on French fries! Next time I'm traveling through Montgomery I will be sure to stop in and enjoy a meal again at Milo's ! My daughter and I stopped at Milo's for the first time. We were not disappointed. First, one of the employees met us at the door and gave us a quick review of the menu. This was very helpful. Our orders were prepared while we waited and delivered to our table fresh and hot...DELICIOUS! My daughter and I travel a lot. Got Milo's chicken last night at the drive thru and the order was wrong when we got home. I tried calling and no one answered the phone. Very disappointed in the service. They were not busy when we pulled in. The girl at the window repeated the order correctly (1) 3-piece and (1) 4-piece chicken strips. Get home to eat and had (2) 3- piece chicken strips. Checked my receipt and it was correct. No way was I going back out into the storm for them to fix their mistake, that's why I tried calling them. I had to look the phone number up because it was no where on the receipt. I really love their chicken strips. They are always fresh and hot, just enough breading so there's plenty of chicken. I just hate that I have to add them to the list of "check the order." I went to Milos for lunch and chose the cheeseburger meal without onions. When I got back to work, I opened up my burger and I had no cheese and it was with onions. So basically I paid $9.23 for a stale burger without cheese and with onions! Horrible! Perfect example of good fast food. This was my first visit at a Milo's, and I was not disappointed. It may even be my new favorite! I ordered the number two: a cheeseburger with fries and a small drink. First off the ice within the small cup was the best ice I've ever had in my life. It trumps sonics ice in a heart beat. The cheeseburger tasted like grilled campfire cheeseburgers after a long day at the lake, the kind that fill you up just right without leaving you with that groggy feelin. Honestly , I like their food and I never had a bad experience with Milos before however today the customer service was absolutely ridiculous. The general manager Joshua Alexander was absolutely rude and disrespectful when I asked for the name of an employee who was clearly biased and chose not to serve us before closing. The employee lied directly to my face and refused to serve me , with no actual reasoning. According to this employee , there system "shuts down automatically" 10 minutes prior to there actual closing time, 9:00 p.m. update: this was over a year ago. In town visiting. Milos was not here when I moved away in June. Bottom line: I'm not a fan, but I like "small mom and pop" history. That's really the only reason I'm giving this many stars. The burger was just ok (I got a double) and the fries were very similar to what one would get at Jacks just down the street. I am not a fan of their "special sauce". It wasn't bad, and I finished my burger....but I guess you either like it or hate it. Not sure how this place is so popular. I'm glad I tried it, because I guess it has a "cult following" in Alabama and Birmingham where they started...but I'm unimpressed. I'd rather go to a half dozen other places. I've had Milo's on my bucket list for years, not even kidding. On my way back from the NE GA mountains today, I had the time to stop and try it out. Gadzooks, I was thoroughly underwhelmed and disappointed. First, the location. Not really the location, I guess...it's where it is and that's that. Milo's is on the blue "Food" signs on I-85 (which is how I knew the place was there, so here's verification that people look at those signs), but the restaurant is south of I-85, turn right at the second light, then weave around some more road and take a right at (again) the second light. That may sound simple, but it was farther from the Interstate than I would have ventured, had I mapped it instead of relying on the blue exit signs. But, whatever...that's trivial. I had to wash my hands and take a road whiz, so I hit the head first. Clean, spacious restroom. With actual paper towels. Because screw coal generated electrical, fan-forced, heated air. I want to dry my hands and wipe my face with the fibers of slain coniferous flora. Plus, I like to have something to buffer my now hygienically-clean fingers from the cooties that the hoi polloi deposit on the door handle. It's an efficient operation. Peruse the menu board, place your order, pay, and they'll call your number...after which you go pick up your grub and find seating. Or leave. Either/or. I noshed on premises. Lots of tea. Not "lots of teas". There was urn after urn of sweet and unsweet tea. No chamomile or jasmine. I drink Diet Coke and they had that. And wonderful ice, of the crushed variety. I bet people stop here just to buy cups of that ice. There is a sauce bar with various sauces that were mysterious to me. I got a small paper cup of brilliant orange goop and a cup of "Milo's Special" (I think...don't quote me on that). Turns out that the burgers, by default, are slathered with that special sauce, and that isn't a feature at all. More on that below. The orange goop was okay, but would have been more apropos with calamari, to my palate. I ordered an "original" double cheeseburger. I paid for, but did not receive, the double cheese. I didn't get **any** cheese. I persevered, because while I had time to stop, I was on a mission to get back home in Florida and didn't want to prolong the process. The "original" style burgers are thin, like a McD's small burger patty. They also have the texture of that cheap beef jerky that is chopped and formed. Not being hyperbolic or exaggerating: this was the worst burger that I've ever paid for and eaten (because once I pay for food--no matter how bad--it's going down my gullet. Unless the safety of doing so is questionable). Hard, finely ground and juiceless, these burgers have had the joy smashed out of them. They're like pucks of pencil erasers, and, if you play Frisbee golf, could soar 68 yards with a flick of the wrist and sustain no damage. Seriously, if I lived next to Milo's and they had free hamburger day, I'd drive 10 miles to Dollar General and buy one of those nasty $1 frozen burgers on a bun. Because those are exponentially better than the double-decker dreck that I ate today. And the Milo's Special sauce tastes like dollar store BBQ sauce with a bucket of cigarette ashes stirred in. WTH? But, hey, those fries were delicious! So. I scratched that off of my bucket list and have no reason or desire to ever return. But you may like it, so give it a go. The place was busy with locals when I was there, so maybe crappy burgers are a Montgomery quirk. read more

Just noticed I was given expired Orange Juice along with almost cold Conecuh Sausage biscuit and hash browns and the coffee was not hot at all after driving so far for some breakfast. One booth was being used when we got there. All others (I walked them all to try and find a clean one) were dirty with food or trash in or around them. Floor had used napkins laying around. I order my food and paid for it and left I started to eat it when I git on the freeway, it was terrible my fries were warm and soft and my cheese burger tasted awful it was not hot and fresh it was Luke was and had no seasoning on it. If you've ever loved or enjoyed Milo's hamburgers do not come within 10 miles of this place. The fries were under done, not seasoned properly, and the hamburgers felt like they were preprocessed mystery meat. The service was friendly but totally slow and no sense of urgency. It's just okay. Took the kiddos there this evening after t-ball practice. . We were the only people there inside. The lady that served us was prompt and friendly. Got them a couple of plain cheeseburgers. I got their single cheeseburger with their standard toppings, including the Milo's sauce. I got a regular order of fries for us to share. Food came out promptly. The lady that took our order brought it out to us. She gave us an extra order of fries for my girls to share, which was nice. My first time eating Milo's reminded me of my college experience. We had a restaurant called Bert's Café and they had the best honey mustard that I've ever tried. Unexpectedly, I ordered the 3 piece combo and asked for honey mustard. After dipping the crispy breaded tender into the sauce and eating it, this immediately became my favorite fast food chain while I'm visiting this state. I may have rated this higher than an out of towner would, but being raised in Birmingham when Milos originated, for us it's a taste of home. So it was nice after being on the road for almost a week to finally get a taste of home. The restaurant is updated and very clean. The staff are friendly and were fairly quick with our order. For anyone who hasn't been it wont be as quick as McDonalds or any other fast food place because milos cooks to order so your food is fresh when you get it. It's true there is a long counter full of tea, but it's sweet or unsweet or tea mixed with lemonade. It's long because I'm Alabama tea goes fast no matter your fancy. read more
