a pint of beer on the bar

Milo's is not quite possibly the best in Ridgewood- it is the best bar in Ridgewood. The owners are awesome, the bartenders are all great. On the weekends you can catch some of the finest DJs to play in the area. I've met a good number of friends there and will miss it. Do yourself a favor and stop by, check out the sounds, the faces, and the backyard. Not to be missed.

I would definitely go back if in the mood for a casual but kinda cute bar that serves basic bites and good music. FOOD / DRINK 1.) Chicago style hot dog = Yum! Had bunch of fixings on it, it was good. Took a while but it's ok bc I wasn't in a hurry. They have the hot drinks too, I'll have to come back for the hot apple cider. SERVICE Nice bartender ATMOSPHERE Pretty cute in a casual way, kind of unique lights in the back. Juke box playing cool old upbeat music. Went on a weekday night. Pretty slow until around 11p... good for small groups with the booth seatings, and the back room's seating area, and pretty spacious overall. Fun, retro atmosphere with the pinball machines in the back. The backyard is cute too with string lights and some tables. Only open for the summer I think or maybe before quiet hour curfew.

Life is simple. Wake up, go to work, go home or don't. Connect with friends or find your way on your own. These are the things we do so often we forget sometimes the surroundings that add the color to our daily routines. I've always judged a good new haunt by the morning after. For me the memory trigger or talisman is a book of matches. When I find a good place, when I have that lightbulb moment that the environment I'm in deserves a return visit... I look for a reminder. Something to remember the moment. For me it's a matchbook. It doesn't matter if you smoke or not. I own candles, I live in old buildings with gas stoves that have faulty ignitions. I take morning constitutionals. So a book of matches is something I will always find a use for. So this morning when I woke and reached into my pocket to find a new book of sulfur, before I opened and struck I looked down and saw the the name of a bar I had just discovered. Milos is a simple place. One that makes me proud to live in what I consider the best city in the world. Living in Brooklyn (in Bushwick) at this moment is even better. There are endless opportunities for eats and drinks and the paths that take us to them reveal hidden gems along the way. Milos is by far one of those places. Walking up to the Christmas lighted awning and opening the door to a dimly lit warmth of an old school bar was the breath I needed in a cold long day. Happily greeted by the bartender while great indie music played in the background. The music wasn't loud just enough to disguise conversation but loud enough to enjoy. Milo's layout is perfect. A nice solid bar when you enter. In the railroad layout the next two rooms hold pinball machines. The first room holding some classic 2000's titles like Shadow with Alec Baldwin in the face. In the next room thee are three incredible old school 'no title' machines. Ones that make you want to play. I mean who doesn't want to try a go at flippin when you see Jack Bot, Comet and Grand Lizard! These are the kind of machines that have not only amazing 'Tommy' play but also have incredible sounds and lights. The selection of beers is great. A little bit of everything. The prices are right and offer great cheap beer-shot options and local crafts. The kicker for me is the option for food. Now let's be clear. This isn't a bar with a kitchen or staff to cook. It's a one man bartending affair. And for the meal my girlfriend and I got that speaks volumes. We split a veggie samosa with two great sauces. My girlfriend had a vegan patty burger and I had a Chicago style hot dog. The hot dog was spot on. I lived in Chicago for 6 years so I know what a good dog is. The perfect selection of bar food paired with great beers and and great entertainment. This is what makes life simple. The bars name comes from that of a pet. Something I have found to be a trend lately in business naming and even though at this moment I don't own a pet... I have come to find if your place is named after your 'lil best friend' I become your new best friend. So if your looking for your new go to spot, Milos is it!

Great local spot. Shot and beer specials on deck. Also dog friendly, so if you're in the mood to pet some pups, this is the place!

Very cool spot! Pinball, snacks, and backyard made for a great late afternoon visit. Bartender was quiet but nice.

The bar is a bit on the smaller side in terms of seating, but it has a TON of personality. I loved the eclectic decorations and knickknacks around the seating areas and the bar. The bartender had the TV tuned in to Jeopardy, so my inner (or extremely obvious?) nerd was beaming. In terms of the drinks themselves, I tried the cocoa orange whiskey (?) infusion on the rocks, and my BF had the chipotle paloma. We would both say they were solid, definitely not at "craft cocktail" level, but decent. This bar has a fun + dive-y feel - the kind of place where you get a beer, a plate of chicken nuggets, and watch trash tv with your neighborhood crew (I think they actually do have people who have a weekly Bachelorette viewing during the week). Definitely worth checking out if you're already in the area and looking for ~vibes.~

I've had a number of drinks here and it's been a great meeting spot for late night occasions, especially ones that revolve around a good drink. No doubt it's one of the more underrated nightlife venues in the borough. The setup feels like something out of a Brooklyn type bar - pseudo hipster vibe, casual environment with the whole board games and stacks of books all within a space that is well divided to give a different feel in each corner of the small'ish interior. Like a living room extension but with adult company. Of course, the bar is the most prominent thing in the room and it's a great place to chill as a solo patron. Groups can congregate in the lounge-y areas but the feel is remarkably different depending on where one choses to hang. On a beverage front, there is no shortage of quality drinks to be had. The cocktails are well made and not expensive; the bartenders do a good job of making sure each drink carries a certain kind of potency before leaving the bar. The happy hours are lovely as well, combined with a good deals ($5 shot + beer special, $5 cocktails, etc.) and even better hours (2-8pm!). Lastly, I appreciate a good name. Bad Old Days can be interpreted in many facets, but I think this establishment prides itself on good company and somehow rewards us with simple, good drinks. Bring a friend or three, enjoy the random movies that get projected onto the wall, and enjoy a late night capper in a quiet part of an emerging part of Queens.

Yee-haw in Ridgewood!…read more My boyfriend is always asking me about my regular bar. I go to TV Eye for the shows, Milo's Yard for the yard and dj nights and Ore Bar is my fave but Jones Bar there's something about you that keeps you in my thoughts! We came on a Sunday afternoon for a cold one before heading home. It is insanely chill. The bartender was funny and inviting. The regulars were like old friends. My boyfriend loved talking sports with a few and deep diving into their love and hate for the Mets! The bartender mentioned that there was supposed to be a vintage market that was cancelled because of the rain. There is food pop ups as well and live music. This recent Friday was four live acts and for FREE. We made our return to our new fave spot. It did not disappoint. The place was packed but not annoying. People were chill. Age range from 25-40 maybe. The first guy playing is from Austin, Bubba Lucky also designed the flyer for the event. The second act, Patton Magee was a three piece. A perfect Friday night hang for sure. Country is back in the best way. This is the kinda bar I was searching for in Nashville. I'm glad it's here in Queens. I am a music lover but I like hopping around genres. So it's nice to get my fix here. So happy to finally be making this a home away from home. We tried a bunch of stuff and the star was definitely the soft scrambled egg tostada, the masa pancakes and coffee tres leches cake. These are a must try! Good to try was also the fried oaxacan cheese but at $14 for 3 pieces, it's not worth a repeat order for me. These were skippable to be honest: mega thick bacon (just ok) home fries (meh) The chilaquiles (pork chorizo, salsa ranchera, crema, queso fresco, sunny up eggs) lacked flavor for a dish with so much going on. Between 5 people - that wasn't too much food at all. I was mostly full after the meal. The ceviche, tuna and prawns split between 5 is basically one bite each. For the apps- the guac and tuna were my faves. The chicken and steak were much larger portions. Both were good but I liked the chicken milanesa more. It was fried perfectly and flavorful. Alright - now for the drinks. I wasn't particularly impressed by the cocktail menu. Mostly everything seemed on the sweeter side so I ordered a mezcal cocktail off menu and my one criteria for the drink was for it not to be too sweat. The bartender came back with a pink drink with a sugar rim. Basically a cosmo with mezcal - made me & my friends LOL. My overall review of the place is in between good and great. Fun atmosphere and good ambiance.
