Using, my iphone maps, it tried to kill me getting here. haha, told me to turn into the curb into the building.. Regardless of that factor, the building itself is very modern and the office is nicer than you would expect. There are usually short wait times: AWESOME but sometimes, one can feel ... dismissed. The receptionists are straight forward on the policies your insurances. There are 2 dermatologists: male and female. Dr. Michael Hoang Duong and Dr. Katherine Hong Do. Similar names, so kinda confusing. They offer a lot of services from medical skin problems like eczema (my son has it and Dr. Do helped him a lot!) And they do more cosmetic procedures such as botox, laser hair removal, fillers) A tip: Like every doctor's visit, please make sure you pay attention to your copays and deductibles before coming. Call your insurance if you must to verify. So in all, my 4 stars are in regarding to the visit I had to for my son. Good news is, he's a lot better! read more

I went to this place pre covid to burn something off my face. When i visited kathrine she laughed in my face saying "you really think you have good skin, your skin is really bad". So she couldnt even tell me what i had on my face and even when she burned it she couldnt even get rid of it for me. She wanted to try to correct for me a 2nd time for free since the 1st try didnt work. I came in and there were 3 girls working front desk, i waited an 1hr none of them called me up and kept skipping me until i told them. I brought my father here. Nice office but wish there was some movie or something playing on the screen. Receptionists were friendly and helped explain to my father about insurance stuff. My father and I thought Dr. Do's exam was really quick and she helped remove a cyst for him that never came back. The results was really good and the cyst healed fine. She just talked a lot and sprayed too much perfume or something because I felt like I was suffocating with in the room. read more

I've seen both dermatologists at Milpitas Dermatology and all of my experiences with them have been great. Both Dr Do and Dr Duong are respected doctors in their fields so you know that you are getting an expert opinion and treatment on whatever skin affliction you are dealing with. Every time I've come here, whether it was for a minor problem (such as dry skin treatment) or a bigger concern (such as a mole removal), I'm always left with satisfying results! They both also give away free samples whenever I request for some and who doesn't like getting free stuff?! Two thumbs way up for both of these doctors. read more

My point is no star but it asked me to put at least one star for the review. Dr ( ???) Duong didn't care about my problems. He would not listen to me at all. Whenever I was about to describe my symptoms he told me to stop and let he talked first ( but I didn't have any chance later ). He wrote a prescription and told me to come back in 2 weeks. WT "beep"! I visited dr Do, the experience is awful. I never had a doctor charges you before the visit. And on the phone, the reception said the consultation fee of $125 would be waived if have the laser surgery here, but Dr Do said no. The whole visit only conversation with Do took only 5-6 min, but waiting time took 50min. They are from Vietnam. She keep convincing my to take the laser like sales. Makes me uncomfortable, I am here to say a doctor and need to here some useful suggestions , not buying a stuff. Awful place, not recommend !!! read more

I visited Dr. Do from Milpitas Dermatology and found her to be great. Not only was I impressed with her abilities, I am happy to use any medical professional who comes from the US military. Updating my review from Dr. Do's old office. I've been traveling a lot this past summer and since my sis lives in nor cal, it gives my mom and me the opportunity to see my mom's favorite dermatologist. My mom has been going to Dr. Do since I can remember. She has removed most of my mom's moles and skin tags throughout the years with no scarring or the "c" word. Dr.Do always checks for irregularities and discoloration of the moles as a preventative measure. I'm extremely thankful for that since my mom grew up in an age where sunblock wasn't first priority at the beach or anywhere else she went. As for me, even though Dr. Do is not in my insurance network, I go to her because I trust her with my skin. She knows exactly what to prescribe when my eczema flares up and always gives me advice on how to keep my skin looking good. Sometimes she gives us free samples to try, which my Mom and I both love. Dr. Do shares her clinic with Dr. Duong. I've had a chance to speak with him in passing once. He seems very quiet and calculated, but didn't seem like how others portrayed him in other reviews. I just called the office and I spoke to the receptionist asking if I can come in for a complimentary consultation if they offer one. She said no that the consultation with the doctor is 125 and the office is closed this week and will be open next Thursday for appointments. I then asked if the office offers microneedling and her response was I don't know??? How the hell don't you know if the office offers that service!!!? Worst answer to say to a patient! read more

Since my first visit in 2015, I have returned 3 times for additional treatments (my skin is prone to keloiding). Each time Dr. Do has provided the same quality service. This last visit (about a month ago) was nothing different. She treated me kindly and the appointment was short and sweet. And about a week later, the results were absolutely noticeable. The reason I gave this office 1 star because I do not have the choice for 0. This office is so unprofessional, rude receptionists and irresponsible. It's a medical office but they do not know or understand what patient care mean. They see you and give you the prescription, they're already done their jobs. If you need to change your prescription due to insurance issue or something else you have to do the work for them. They will not do it for you. This office is very chaotic and unprofessional, starting with the reception staff. My appointment didn't start until 35 minutes after the scheduled time. It was clear that they overbooked in order to get many patients through quickly while spending very little time with the doctor. I only spent about five minutes with doctor. This was actually the worst and most bizarre doctor's experience I've ever had. The issue with Dr Hoang Duong is that he is a poor listener. He gets irritated very easily when a patient asks some questions. I was trying to explain him my condition but he was in such a rush to get me out of the cabin that he became agitated at me for asking my doubts and wasting his time. He easily becomes visibly annoyed. After the visit, I did not take his prescribed medicine as I was not sure if he even understood the reason I was there to visit him. I took my dad here many times now to see Dr. Michael Duong, but several times we had to wait long. I asked one of the receptionists, and she said something like "first come first serve". That made me feel like the appointment time doesn't matter at all. Another receptionist told me that usually Dr. Duong had to do some kind of lazer treatment for some patients something, so even if it is your appointment time, you still have to wait. Again, it's like the appointment time doesn't matter at all. This's weird! I think the Department of Consumer Affairs would be able to handle this, but I don't want to take this step yet! read more

We got a referral from our PCP for Dr. Duong to treat my callus. The only thing I wonder is our california medical licensing system. By no stretch of imagination he appears a genuine doctor. Severely money minded (tries to maximize the visits), rude and easily irritable. You ask a question, and he will snap back at you. In last 4 visits I have never seen him smile, even once. Even the treatment is dubious because all he is doing is dilly dallying on a little callus on my sole. Everytime I go, he does a liquid nitrogen treatment and the whole area is back to same situation by the next visit. Finally, I decided to seek another dermatologist. read more

First, had to wait 30 minutes past appointment time. When I finally saw Dr. Duong, he didn't even listen to the entire chronology of my case-- he butted in and then began writing a prescription before I had told him how I even ended up in his office for suspected subungual melanoma. When I questioned his diagnosis and stated that several doctors including the ER (which took x-rays) concluded that a BIOPSY MUST BE DONE (!!!!), he became angry with me and yelled: "Well why didn't you say that?!" I said: "Look buddy, you didn't even listen to me or let me finish. Now, I DO NOT TRUST YOU! How can you even turn this around on me now?!" Then he had his partner come in and look at it, but she didn't even ask me any questions or look me in the face. She just came in to agree with him. He gave me terbinafine and said come back in a month if it doesn't improve. I guess, if I weren't already dead? Did NOT schedule me a follow-up, did NOT prescribe a topical cream as I have been told he should have (for maximum effectiveness), did NOT even take the precaution of sampling the nail to make sure his diagnosis of fungus is correct! My first appointment was today 1/8/16 at 4:30 I came early at 4 to do paper work and they didn't even give me the paper work till 4:50. When they final let me in Dr. Duong was rude to not only me but my mom. He talked to us like we were dumb and ignorant and I don't think he should be treating his patients that way. He was also racist. He said "ba tau sao" which means Chinese are liars. My mom and I were extremely offended because we are half Chinese and Vietnamese. This is a great dermatologist office. I have been going to Dr. Do for many, many years and she has helped me with all of my skin problems over the years (acne, melasma, removal of moles, etc...). Every time, Dr. Do has quickly diagnosed the problem and effectively treated it. She is smart, quick and very efficient at figuring out what the problem is and how best to resolve it. Dr. Duong, the other doctor in the office, is also a wonderful doctor. He is very caring, kind and listens to what you are saying. He is extremely compassionate and tries to do the most he can for his patients. Many of my family members have also been helped by Dr. Do & Dr. Duong over the years - everyone has been happy going to them and we will continue to see them for as long as possible! read more

This clinic has a very unfriendly and unprofessional environment. As you walk in you will feel the negative atmosphere wether from employees or even from frustrated patients waiting for their names to be called. You can never be seen at the time you were scheduled, you always have to wait unless you are a regular patient for laser or you are one of the doctor's friend/ relative. I have been regular here for a few months helping a friend of mine for her appointments and I have witnessed this many times since the very beginning. Some patients complains for having them to wait for more than 30 mins every time. This clinic is very old school that everything is done manually not electronically so you have to remember your medical record number as if it was your birthday. It is going to be a big trouble if you don't remember this particular number especially if you are calling to make an appointment, requesting medical records, or even upon checking in. Also, this practice don't make phone calls for appointment reminders so you have to remember your appointment even if it's going to be 3 months later. This private practice seems to only care a lot more on how much they will make off from you rather than treating you and make you feel confident about yourself. And, be sure you have your co-pay ready at the time of visit or else you won't be seen. Please choose your dermatology wisely. This is not a place to be. read more

This place is a rip off, they milk your insurance $$ as much as possible. They scheduled me for multiple appointments, most lasted 5 minutes or less. One appointment was to schedule an appointment for something else... They sent my skin for a lab test, without telling me that there will be two additional charges to the test, 100$+ per charge. Result came in, nothing serious. Prior visits, I received ointments and sprays to put on, 0 progress on the healing! Will literally make sure to keep your sickness/infection around so he can keep prescribing medicine he profits from. After telling him my infection was still painful he discouraged me and told me I didn't have an infection anymore. Giving me minimal amount of antibiotics to make sure my infection would never completely go away. He prescribed me creams that after researching about, was not even what I needed. She asked my name, while I was saying my first name, she asked my phone number and asked me next week. I said I have to work that day and asked on Monday, she said they don't have any space. When I asked for following Monday, she still said they don't have any space. I asked are you full schedule any Monday, she said: "OK, you can come next Monday at 10 o'clock" and hang the phone. WTF. I came in because I had an infected cyst to be looked at, hopefully cut and drained. I had paid $90 up front. As soon as Dr. Duong calls me in, he took a look and instantly told me I had to cut open my cyst and drain it at the ER. I was asking him why couldn't he do it here. His reason repetitively was its " too messy and will contaminate the clinic ". Are you kidding me? What kind of a dermatologist is this. But then I thought okay maybe I really do need to go to the ER. When I got there, multiple nurses and physician assistants asked me why my dermatologist didn't cut and drain it instead. They said it was something he could easily done. It made me realize I am never ever going to this office again. And it is true reading some of the other reviews, the other two times I've visited here.. Big No No. I was required to pay $125 consulting fee prior the visit. I did. After a long wait, the doctor finally was able to see me. But only for ONE minute. I am not exaggerating. It is that short. Take a look at my arm where I have problem. Told me to come back later for the procedure and need to pay several hundred more. He did not tell me what problem I have or why. I saw Dr. Michael Duong for the first time on Friday for a mole on my arm that looked funky. It was a very positive experience. The front desk is welcoming and professional, I don't think I waited for Dr Duong more than five minutes after filling out my paperwork. He was friendly, professional and helpful; he examined my arm and told me that the mole should be removed. He questioned a medication I take that might make my blood 'thin' so asked me if I could avoid it for three days which was no problem. He answered all my questions and told me that my insurance would cover the procedure. I am confident of a positive experience this afternoon when he removes it and sends out to pathology. I have no idea what all these other people are referring to with their negative reviews. I would recommend Dr Duong and this office to anyone needing a dermatology specialist. read more

I was impressed by this clinic. After getting no help from my PCP for multiple cysts, I decided to look up the closest dermatology clinic and stumbled upon Dr. Do. At first impression, the office looks very modern and clean. The staff was friendly and checked me in promptly. I waited for about 10-15 minutes before seeing Dr. Do. She was courteous and very conscientious of cost, explaining all options to me from inpatient to outpatient treatment. She was also knowledgeable about insurance coverages to help me choose the best option for me (costs versus results). In the end, I had her remove a couple cysts, which she did a great job, leaving minimally noticeable suture. I'm happy with my experience here and would come back for other skin care needs. read more
