I highly recommend Dr. Riley here. I think one of the most screwed up things with our health care system is that Doctors are not incentivized to spend time explaining things to their patients. Dr. Riley is different. He really takes the time to explain every single (yes, EVERY) question that you have for him. In fact, he would even ask you again near the end of the discussion, "any more questions?" This is truly rare among medical practioners. In addition, I enjoy talking fantasy football with Dr. Riley. About 12 years ago, I was in horrible bus accident. After numerous physical therapy and chiropractic sessions, I did not see any result. I still had constant numbness in my legs and excoriating back pain. The sessions provided me with temporary relief but often time was flustered with the task of going to one part of town for chiropractic care and the other side of town for physical therapy session. For the past 3 years, I have been a patient at Milpitas Spine Center and have seen a drastic improvement. The numbing pain I was experiencing is gone. The back pain has been minimal. Dr. Patel is great to show exercises that I can do out of the office which help address my specific issues. Having a massage therapist on site also makes it easier to me to arrange all of my appointments in one day and making it convenient. I went to see Dr Patel on a chronic shoulder-neck pain that has been around for many years - the Ortho wanted to cut me up to fix it, another Chiro preciously put me on the "stretch" machine (the ones that is akin to how the Mongols purportedly stretched their condemned prisoners by tying their extremities to horses and moving them in 4 different directions of the compass...)... needless to say, I lived with the pain for quite a while... Anyway, been seeing Dr Patel for a couple of months recently, skeptically at first, but must say that the pain have definitely reduced and I feel my shoulders a lot looser - beyond the actual care (I like the fact that he doesn't rely on "machines" for stretches but is very hands on, thus knowing exactly the pts to fix), the recommended exercises etc have helped because they complemented the actual chiropractic care. Must say that I am pleasantly surprised at this improvement, although not permanently fixed (doubt it will be), it has definitely improved the situation! Thumbs up! And btw, if you get a chance to, get a 30 mins therapeutic massage too - they do work out the kinks and is quite complementary to the chiro care! This review is long overdue. I have been going to Dr. Patel for almost 3 years now, and am here to stay. Rarely do you find a place where you can honestly say that the service is great from the moment you step through the front door, to the moment you leave. I have had to see Dr. Patel for my prenatal back care, my postnatal back care, a car accident, and my routine overall back health. I have never had any issues with them. I will say that sometimes there is a wait, but they are always super apologetic when that happens as well, and explain what is going on. Dr. Patel is a highly skilled, knowledgeable chiropractor. He does a great job with his adjustments, and I honestly feel the difference when too much time has lapsed between appointments. He answers all of my questions to the best of his ability, and uses current data and research to support his advice. He is very detail oriented when explaining the anatomy of my back and how my day to day routine affects the overall wellness of my spine, especially during the time of my pregnancy. During the time of my recent car accident, he was very helpful in telling me what to expect in my recovery, and what I can do to help my body recover. Now that I am feeling much better, it is much easier to see how much chiropractic care has helped me. Although I mainly see Dr. Patel, I have seen Dr. Riley as well, and he is just as great. If my schedule does not allow me to see Dr. Patel, I trust Dr. Riley with my back as well. Alicia is my main massage therapist that I see, and on occasion I see Tamika as well. Both are great at what they do. They definitely have different styles, depending on what your body needs and what you prefer. Alicia is very good at focusing on the areas of most need, and really works them. I honestly cringe sometimes when I get my massage, but I know I will feel better later, so I tough it out as best as I can. I am constantly carrying my children, and other heavy things, and she definitely helps me get through my day to day life. Tamika is also a great therapist, and if I do not have a massage that day, she helps warm up my back and gives me a mini massage from time to time as well. Jennifer and Tamika help me schedule my appointments. They are very good at returning calls, and trying to squeeze me in for an appointment wherever they can. They call me if something opens up, and are always very friendly and understanding. read more

Yes, I am a Fan! I came to MSC after being in a car accident. The staff at MSC where great, friendly and very helpful. I found that the Doctors took great care when it came to my healing and pain. While in treatment I unfortunately was in another car accident. I was rear-ended and I found myself back at stage one. Once again the staff and Doctors at MSC did everything possible to ensure I was taken care of. I have been going to see Dr. Riley for several years now. I've done martial arts from a young age and now do Krav Maga. I get beaten up on a regular basis and needed some assistance to keep everything moving. Doctors Patel and Riley are awesome! I've been going for years. I have scoliosis and other back problems aggravated by a huge car accident. I was in pain constantly with levels 6-9 for so many years. Dr Riley has given me pain free days. I never thought I would ever have even a single day without pain. Now I don't need to take any meds for my neck and back. Pain is now 0-4 with bad days if I've done any heavy lifting or gone on flights. Dr Riley has even aleviated my migraines. Now it's just the occasional headache. If I get a migraine I run to him and a neck adjustment and my head doesn't feel like it's going to explode. He also adjusts my hand and elbow for my carpal tunnel. Dr. Riley and the Milpitas Spine Center staff are amazing! You never know how badly you need an adjustment until you get one. I had excruciating neck/shoulder pain which stemmed from poor posture and a long, 11 hour flight. Every time I moved my neck, accelerated in a car, or had to lay myself down in bed, I experienced shooting pain that made my quality of life truly suffer. I lived with it for a week, thinking "this is life now". Taking my friend's advice, I saw his chiropractor, Dr. Riley. After my first visit, I was back to 100% with full mobility and ZERO pain. I couldn't believe it was that easy. I highly recommend seeing Dr. Riley for all your health needs. An unbelievable experience! Firstly, my appt was at 2:30, i received a call the morning of with a confirmation that my appt was at 2:45, I said ok, thought it was at 2:30, she said oh yes i usually tell people to come early. makes sense. then i get a call a little after 2 and she asks if i could actually be there at 2:30 now. sure - i packed up my things at work and got there at 2:30. waited until 2:45. And now....Dr. Riley! Greeted me and walked me to the back. So what brings you here. I explain that i was looking for a chiro closer to home that accepts my HMO insurance - they do. however, Dr. Riley continues to go on about how my insurance is horrible and that although my insurance covers 20 visits per calendar year, he cannot bill more than 5-8 visits due to the fact that the insurer would drop him from the network if he bills more. WHAT?! Unless the appts are for multiple injuries. WHAT?! I couldn't believe he was going on. So I ask, why would my insurance say they cover 20 visits but not allow you to bill 20 visits. He asked why I left PPO. He asks why didn't I come to him when I had PPO. He never asked me about my condition but did say that he could help me and went on about my insurance as i stood there is absolute amazement. He went on saying that many Chiro's do the work without billing the insurance companies which is why I many have had more appts in the past. I was starting to feel very uncomfortable and didn't understand why this was now turning into an argument. I was so upset. I let Dr. Riley know that I was feeling uncomfortable with the way this conversation was going. If Milpitas Spine Center accepts my HMO, and my HMO provides 20 chiropractic visits, then MSC should allow 20 visits. I'm not going to say what I think his intentions were because it is only an assumption. But I walked out after 10 minutes. So disappointing. read more

I limped into Milpitas Spine Center after my body adversely reacted to an adjustment made at a different office the day before. I could barely stand up straight and had trouble bending over and sitting for any period of time. I was met with such compassion and understanding. Not only did Dr. Riley make room in his busy schedule to address my situation and expertly adjust my back, but he applied therapy that reduced my pain and gave relief to my tired, strained muscles. By the time I left the office, the constant stabbing feeling in my lower back was gone and I could bend over to reach my bag again without pain. I am so, so grateful not only for the excellent treatment I received, but also for the kindness and care of the staff - from my first interaction with the front desk staff to the doctor. Service was more than what I can ask for. Alisha is professional when it comes to give massage. She gets into the deep tissues and makes the muscle relax. Dr. Riley is also very knowledgeable in what he does. There is no question related to soreness, back pain, etc. he does not know the answer. He explains in layman's term so that it makes sense and serves as a recommendation (warning) for what (not) to do. The treatment is thorough. I had been to Milpitas Spine Center as I had TMJ issues and severe neck pain. After getting adjusted by Dr.Patel, I had severe headache which lasted for 2 full days which I had never experienced earlier in my life (I had got adjusted by other chiropractor earlier). After the second adjustment, again I got severe headache for 2-3 days. He does adjustments blindly without any measurements/ examining the movements. Also, Dr.Patel started telling that I might have to go to dentist (If I had to go to dentist, I wouldn't have gone to chiropractor). Also, he said it could be some issue with blood pressure/heart. Everything was normal when I had got my annual physical done 4 months ago. Usually doctors suggest to do yoga for better health. Dr.Patel has no idea about Yogasanas as he said that yoga doesn't stretch the body. I completely regret going to Dr.Patel as my symptoms got worse after getting adjusted. Good that I stopped going after 2 adjustments. Now that I am going to Gonstead chiropractor, he does specific adjustments which are needed (I am feeling a lot better now) read more

This chiropractor was more interested in me getting a lawyer instead of helping me with my back pain. I was asked about my back pain 2-3 times vs the 15-20 times he mentioned "lawyer". I'm sure he's a good chiropractor, just have to get pass the grilling to get a lawyer. The patient should be their first priority not the $$$. read more
