Dr.Riley is super amazing. I had a calf strain from training for a half marathon and a really bad neck problem from bad posture at work. After the initial assessment my calf strain flew out of the window and I am so glad I can still run my half - marathon. He is working on my neck and the adjustments he gave me are pretty good. I have been going to the Milpitas Spine Center for about a year. I am a 28 year old woman with degenerative disc disease with herniations at L4-L5 and L5-S1. I came to see Dr. Riley a year ago because I was tired of living my life feeling that I was constantly on the brink of throwing my back out, I was frustrated and emotional about how unstable and how much pain I experienced all the time, and I was DEDICATED to not turn to using muscle relaxers or narcotics to treat my symptoms. I began treating with the Milpitas Spine Center three times a week for about four months, and as my body began maintaining and holding adjustments longer, the doctors cut me back to two adjustments per week, then to one visit every five days. I am currently only treating with them once every seven days and I am THRILLED to report that I have not thrown out my back once since I've began treating with them (keep in mind, this used to happen to me at least once a year, if not twice). The treatment I've received at Milpitas Spine Center has been truly remarkable. Both Dr. Riley and Dr. Patel work together and collaborate in order to best meet your needs. I began treating with Dr. Riley for about six months, and I ended up switching to Dr. Patel because my body seemed to respond a little differently to Dr. Patel's adjustment style, and I am impressed and admire how professionally both doctors handled this situation. There was no ego invested. They want you to be treated by the doctor who meets your body's needs. Everyone responds to adjustment styles differently. I had to put a lot of my own work into getting to where I am. It took a big commitment to go to these appointments so frequently during a month, it also took a lot of patience because it took my body a long time to learn how to maintain the doctors' adjustments. I also had to change my workout routine. Working out has become a HUGE part of my life and maintaining the stability in my back. If I take a week off from working out my core, I feel a very noticeable difference in my body's overall stability, especially my back. One of the biggest lessons I learned with Dr. Patel is when I was hitting a plateau about 9 months into treatment and began getting frustrated, the doctor suggest I chart my pain and daily activities for 30 days. I learned SO MUCH about what activities brought on pain that I wasn't aware of. I was able to identify a pattern with certain activities and I was able to begin limiting or eliminating the activities that triggered pain and flare-ups in my back. I also learned, through the journaling process, that my diet was playing a huge role in my back pain! I discovered I hadn't been eating enough for the activity level I was maintaining and for my height and size. I made some very simple adjustments to my diet by adding healthy fats, proteins and calories to my diet, and my pain decreased VERY noticeably and my overall strength increased. It was a huge personal breakthrough for me and I had no idea how my inefficient diet was impacting my pain levels. (I wish I had done this journaling at the beginning of my treatment with Milpitas Spine Center). The front office staff is wonderful and helpful, and the doctors seem willing to work with people with a whole variety of issues. They just want to see people feel better, and they are dedicated to figuring out a way to work with you, with or without insurance. It may seem like a big investment, but I will confidently attest that this one of the best investments I've made. My health is worth it. I started coming to MSC several years ago. All was well until I had acquired a licensed California Service Dog, and that is where a MAJOR problem arose. I brought my service dog to my next appointment, at which time I was told that I could not bring him into their office because, get this, others patients would complain of allergic problems. The second time I brought him in I was retold about their policy regarding bringing service animals into their office, again because of the allergy issue. Now, I can fully empathize with the issue of allergies, as I have several myself. But, since the dog is in the office for so short a time during the visit, it cannot possibly be much of an issue. But that is not the point. When Danesh Patel, D.C. threatened me with raising my costs to full price (I had ben receiving a discounted rate, due to my husband's unemployment) if I continued to bring my service dog into the office, I found his reaction to be completely hurtful and unprofessional. When I discussed this again with both Danesh and Scott Riley, D.C., their solution? Leave the dog outside the office, on the public walkway - their receptionist would 'watch' him. He is a beautiful dog, and would probably have been stolen, Besides, due to some of her duties she is not always at her desk, so how could she possibly watch him full time? Finally, I asked them more than once, to try to make them see how absurd their stance was, "If you had a blind client, would you make him leave his service animal outside, just because someone may complain about an allergy?" I asked tis twice of both of them and never got an answer. I am sure you will agree with me that this is extremely unprofessional behavior on their parts. Although they are competent at their profession, based upon my treatment at their hands, I cannot condone referring their services to anyone. read more

Just woke up at 3 am due to an aggravating hip problem caused by "doctor" riley. Although I am well aware of the positive experiences noted by other individuals, my experience is unfortunately nothing similar to theirs. Three things I learned that you should always look out for when going to a chiropractor: 1. You MUST feel safe or mentally comfortable with your physician. 2. The chiropractor MUST NOT use machines in his/her practices. 3. NEVER sign a contract stating that the facility or physicians are not reliable of any charges if results are damaging. I initially went to the Milpitas spine center 3-4 months ago for their free consultation over an issue I've been having for a while. Sadly, none of the three points I stated above were met on positive terms. First of all, let's talk about the customer service. On my first day, I waited about 20-30 minutes to speak to doctor riley AFTER he finished his appointment with his patient, and my appointment was next on the list. I returned twice for treatment and I experienced almost the same experience with the waiting time. As for discussing payments, the receptionists were very unclear. They told me that visits were 30$ with extra services like the therapy they offered such as massages - not the ones that the physicians gave you, and 15$ without these "extra services". She affirmed her credibility on her statement by asserting she was also a massage therapist. However, the plain adjustments done by the physician were already included in the 15$ payment, so I decided that was all I needed in a 15$ dollar visit. Turns out to be, the therapy she was talking about was the normal adjustments - not the extra massages they did in the backroom. I don't know why it was so complicated for her to straight up explain the costs and services during appointments. As for feeling safe or mentally comfortable, doctor riley seemed very unwelcoming in his office, but he had the ability of answering all of my questions which fooled me into believing he was credible as an expertise physician. Later on, I found out some of the stuff he told me turned out to be bullshit like how he pointed out that the ends of the spinal bones were growth plates in my x-rays. Actually, they were vertebral endplates that everyone has. In addition to the unreliability of dr. riley, while he was demonstrating how he performs his adjustments, although not actually doing them, I opened my eyes and witnessed him with a red malicious expression on his face like he wanted to break my neck. Moreover, he applied more than necessary pressure while massaging areas that were apparently needed. Yes, it may seem logical to perceive that I only felt the pain of my tenderness in this particular situation, however one can identify whether the pressure is applied more than necessary, and that was definitely the case. Now let's review the 2nd point stated above. Unfortunately, this is what destroyed my hip. Doctor riley used some sort of hammering machine on right the side of my pelvis for some reason hoping it would knock it into place. Some time after I left the facility, I couldn't lean over to the right or bend over to the right side without my hip getting in the way and it was visibly poking out my side. Moreover, I still today cannot lie down on my right side because it feels VERY uncomfortable as if my hip shifted outward so that when I lie down "my hip is in the way" pretty much. I hoped these damages would reverse, and the first part of my problem did go away. However, for the second part, I still cannot normally lie on my right side - even in bed. Which is exactly why I am up at 3-4 am writing this review. Worst of all number 3, they make you sign a contract prior to treatment so that if anything goes wrong, they are not responsible for it. Horrible! So any damages they make they're not reliable? I should've never signed that contract because I believed they knew what they were doing, and they had so many positive reviews. It's like going to a mechanic and they have you sign a contract stating that if they mess up your car it's not their fault. It's ludicrous, only if you don't know what you're doing that's when you do something like that. Overall, I would love to sue if I could. read more

Nothing to me is more important than finding someone you trust and more important than that, a doctor you trust. I found Milpitas Spine Center in 2010 through Yelp and it was the highest rated Chiropractors office in the Milpitas Area when I was looking. I have since moved about 60 miles away and I still make it a point to drive there for my visits. The thing that I specifically love the most about their service is that they are huge on fixing the problem and not the symptom - they are not pill pushers and truly believe in total body health. I would highly recommend seeing them and having yourself checked out. For those people who don't' "believe" in the effectiveness of Chiropractors, perhaps look at the fact that every sports team and most musicians that perform physical routines have them on staff not to mention many many others. -- The Cure Center -- They gave me back my "back" :).. I was having lot of pain in my back because of extended hours of sitting at work. And I been having this for a long time. I tried couple of other things, including other chiro, but none worked. After reading reviews, I thought I would give a try to Dr.Patel. He was so thorough and more importantly, he listens to what you are saying and treats you exactly where it needed. He is honest too and will tell you if he thinks that he wont be able to cure you. Those short massages before the treatment are awesome. There were few days, where I really needed them. Anyways, after 10 sessions (my back was that bad), I started feeling relief. When I first came to Milpitas Spine Center, my body was a mess: my right arm was too painful to go straight, my right hand was numb 80% of the time, and my left wrist was aching over 50% of the time, plus neck pain and back pain. I am only at my middle 30's. I thought I need spend thousands of dollars to fix my problem as the other Chiropractor who doesn't take insurance quoted me. Then I found Dr. Riley online and decided to give it a try. Dr. Riley really knows where the problem is and how to treat it. He is absolutely caring and professional, same as his staff and co-workers. They do what they are doing. Within 1 months, after a couple of treatments, the numbness and paid were reduced by 50% percent; 2 months later, my right arm is back to be straight and my let wrist is also cured. My appoint can be spaced out from twice in a week to once in two week now. And I only feel a slight back pain after sit in front of the computer for long time. I will continue my treatment with Dr. Riley. The best part is that they were able to negotiate with my insurance company and make my treatment really affordable.
