Spoke to manager and the justifications were ridiculous. Invoice also references work that was not done regarding mulch outside the house. Still using Milton Frank, still receiving quality work, fair pricing, folks who clean up after themselves, with no after the fact issues. After all these years they've replaced a garbage disposal, snaked three drains, replaced two water heaters, given countless heater and a/c tune ups, repaired our old a/c at least adozen times, and now finally, after 19 years, replaced the whole a/c system, inside and out. They're small, local, privately owned, and probably not the cheapest, but they're reasonable, fair, and I've never had a problem they couldn't solve. My relatively EXPENSIVE toilet flooded my 1st floor dining room I bought this from Milton Frank The BOLTS that held the tank to the base busted and one was leaking I went to their office to see if I could get a replacement bolt The receptionist (?) said they don't stock parts! REALLY a repair firm WITHOUT parts! I have never had a problem with toilet bolts. I suspect this was a cheap product BUTTT the important thing is in their office are two LARGE board that rate their plumbers on REVENUE per job. We weren't really impressed with the plumber who came this week, so we would not use them again for plumbing, he just didn't go above and beyond, he only had one answer for our problem, and quite frankly we would've liked to have seen him try something a little more, other than just telling us we need to re-pipe our home. OMG ... Finally a business I can put faith into that the right thing is being done and the price right! I am not afraid to say that I have lost faith in HVAC, Plumbing, and Mechanics ... shout out to the professionals who have dedicated their lives to this thankless professions, however the business models of many of these industries is outright garbage ... I expect each of these visits to end in a outrageous recommendation of services needed and even more outrageous prices to go with them. The scare tactics used to make you think your AC, Car, of Plumbing is set to implode and cause thousands of dollars of damage is deplorable. So after spotting a potential leak in my ceiling, I called ARS Rescue Rooter who had performed service on my HVAC units just a week or so prior and ironically suggested i needed over $5,000 worth of work (mind you that I've only been in my NEW home for just a little over a year) which included float switches to prevent leaks ... which I'm sorry, but just seemed too coincidental .. you tell me I need work to prevent a leak and a week later I have leaks ... so needless to say I called them back to have them come and take a look at what may be the issue. To make a long story short, luckily it was not my AC units (sorry for the skeptical nature) and it was recommended I call a plumber. And just for a side not ... the ARS technician Eduardo was great and trustworthy after my experience with him ... but man the prices that ARS charges compared to their competition is crazy ... 2 float switches with ARS would have ran me almost $1000 whereas I called another company and their cost was only $180 ... WTF ARS ... Ok back to Milton ... when I realized I needed a plumber, I called Milton Frank (keep in mind that when I originally wanted my HVAC serviced it was btw MF and ARS but I chose to go with ARS due to having ARS in a previous state and they were just a tad bit less expensive than MF for the HVAC servicing, but i should have just stuck with them from the start) .. but it was a no brainer now that I need a plumber and I was not going with ARS. My initial appointment was set 12/24 ... however an hour after i made the initial appt. the nice ladies who work there (I spoke with Lauren first) called back to tell me something opened up and they were available to come same day ... so that a positive already. I also received a text message telling me that Gus would be my technician and he was on his way! It even included a picture so i would know who to expect. When Gus arrived he was very professional in his demeanor and seemed genuinely happy to be there to assist me. He took a look at the spot in my ceiling and immediately went to work to try and diagnose where and what was causing my leak. Needless to say he was a superstar in figuring out what the issue was (with a little assistance from his coworker Fred) and fixing it ... took a hole in the ceiling to get to the bottom of it ... but it was well worth it. Throughout the entire process Gus was thorough and he made sure I understood what he was doing and why he was doing it. He was upfront about costs and constantly asked if I had any questions and if I understood the process. He even recommended someone who could help repair my ceiling when it was all done. This was by far a top notch experience and I am very pleased I chose Milton Frank ... I will continue to use and recommend them for any plumbing needs and will soon sign up for the HVAC service ... I have appreciated using Milton Frank plumbing over the last 30 years on and off.. today I called requesting someone give me an estimate for what I had been told by a prior group was a grease buildup requiring a specialized machine to fix. I was surprised when the scheduler was able to accommodate and have someone come out "tomorrow. " An hour later I received a call asking if it would be OK if they sent someone today. Matthew arrived 30 minutes later- was polite and astute, indicating it didn't appear I had a problem; he spent a while, checking and making sure he was correct and he was. The honesty was really refreshing, and in addition I was not charged for the service call. I really appreciate the professionalism and friendly service. I highly recommend Milton Frank Plumbing for anyone looking to have plumbing or air-conditioning issues properly repaired. I contacted Milton Frank Plumbing because Kohler National Service recommended them. Matt Vaughn from Milton Frank Plumbing came out to repair my Master Bathroom Kohler Shower DTV after it froze and broke in the cold weather. Matt visited the first time and told me I needed either four different parts kits that I needed to order from Kohler or a new valve. He charged me a $150 trip charge and I ended up ordering a brand new Kohler DTV on Amazon for $1350. Two weeks later Matt came back and installed it. Installation amounted to replacing the existing valve with the new one and attaching the hot/cold water feeds and the six output valves also and plug in the power. This took Matt two hours and the installation charge was $817.50. Matt did a great job. Seems to me that a $400 an hour labor rate is excessive. In fact, that could be considered price gouging. Kohler devices are expensive but really? I gave him my old valve because I didn't have need for a broken one. I am a retired IT guy, but I was never paid $400 an hour. Wow. read more

Noticed that one of our thermostats wasn't displaying the outside temperature correctly so we called Milton Frank. They were responsive and professional, as usual. Richard quickly determined that we needed a new air temperature sensor to correct the problem and provided an estimate. He also mentioned that since we have 2 thermostats fairly close together we had the outside temperature correctly displayed on one and replacing the other immediately wasn't critical. My neighbor used Milton Frank Plumbing to replace a toilet. Started out simple, but wound up replacing the whole toilet. That is not the issue. The issue is, after several trips to Lowes for parts which they didn't have, the total bill was over $900.00. How can you justify over $900.00 for replacing a toilet. I did an average of replacing toilets in this area, and it was approx $400.00, so how can a company justifying more than double. I emailed this company to request an estimate for a complete plumbing job involving installing a plumbing system for my home. I spoke with Lauren via email. Now we are talking about a job that costs between 15 and 20,000.00.. Prior to calling Milton Frank Plumbing, I called Unuversal Home Services. Universal waived any fee just for giving them the opportunity to get the job. Milton Frank and Lauren wanted to CHARGE ME $48.50 for the opportunity to bid on my project and PAY THEM upwards of 20,000.00. If you need good people that don't use money as a basis for doing business, call JB Plumbing or Universal Home Services. I wouldn't recommend Milton Frank for any Plumbing Services it's all about the $$$$. read more

Absolute scammers. My mother's house developed a main leak in the ground at the inlet below the shutoff valve. I dug out the area to trace the leak and found it coming from a coupling that had a poorly done PVC weld from a recent sprinkler system install. With the hole dug, this should be a simple fix that would take a plumber less than an hour of work to do and require, at most, less than $10 in materials. Unfortunately, I didn't have the time that day to fix it, so suggested she call a plumber. She called Milton Frank Plumbing. Today, the plumbers that arrived produced an estimate of $779 to my mother. They told her they needed to replace the gate valve (common when the house was built in the early 80s) that controls the flow into the house with a ball valve. This valve was not the source of the leak...in fact it was no where near the leak! The leak was underground and I had already dug it up for them! They also tried to up-sell her to some "MVP program." When she balked, they dropped the price to $553 to replace the old gate valve with another gate valve instead of a ball valve. Again, NOT THE SOURCE OF THE LEAK! Fortunately, while no plumber, my mom is no fool and can spot a grifter. She sent them packing with their $48 dispatch fee. I'm absolutely disgusted with these people. Again, complete con artists and crooks. DO NOT USE THEM! read more

We have been Milton Frank customers for quite awhile and have always been pleased with their service. Today I discovered a dripping ceiling and put a call into the service desk and a plumber was at our door within the hour. Joel Long accessed the problem, located the leak and had a new pipe installed within about 90 minutes. He also checked and replaced the filter of our tankless water heater which Milton Frank installed about 10 years ago (and it's still working fine). Had a great experience with David Galvan from Milton frank to replace a cartridge in bath faucet since hot water wouldn't turn on. He was respectful, informative, on time. Called during the winter storm for a busted pipe and couldn't get through for days, called a handyman to fix the broken pipe so we could have water again. Recently the gas company came to change gas meter and turned off the water to hot water heaters. Soon after we had hot water again after gas meter installed, our overflow sensors kept going off . Logan Hughes came to troubleshoot and was able to reset the sensors, pointed out that Kevin who installed the system missed our 3rd hot water heater completely, so we needed to order another overflow shut off fir the 3rd. Soon after Logan left, the two sensors on the two water heaters kept going off, we'd press reset then they'd go off again. Thank goodness Kevin missed the 3rd water heater at installation was a blessing in disguise because at least we could take a hot shower but no hot water in kitchen or laundry room from the other two water heaters that had sensors tripping. Milton frank sent Kevin back on Tuesday - 3 days with no hot water- and he couldn't figure out why they were tripping, blamed it on the gas company and ordered two more sensors. He was not solution oriented and was defensive to us, and didn't apologize for missing the 3rd water heater at installation of the shut off system. Also Milton frank wanted to charge us for the two new sensors they were ordering to replace the ones that tripped- even though they didn't know If they were faulty. They should have been under warranty- it was only 2 months since they were installed. Then they tried to sell us their MVP plan and told me it would save on future visits and was helpful during the winter storm. Ironically we already were MVP members - didn't help us at all during the storm and then shouldn't need it as a benefit for service trips- if the job is done right initially we would not have needed 3 separate trips! We will not be using them anymore. Very disappointed in their customer service, workmanship, and integrity. read more

They have provided products and services including hot water heaters, disposals, water softeners and water filters and toilets. We decided to replace our pedestal sink in our new home and purchased a vanity sink from Home Depot. I called the MFP office the next morning and by that evening I had a new vanity sink installed. Carlos our service person and installer for this small job is one of the nicest, friendliest and knowledgeable technicians. I needed a new AC Compressor Capacitor on my air conditioning system. The Milton Frank tech installed a new one. The total cost for travel time, diagnosis, and install was $351.21. I thought this was extremely high considering it only took the tech about 9 minutes to install the new part. Afterwards, I checked online and found that Amazon had the exact same part for $16.90. Obviously they are ripping off the customers to an extreme level. Not sure how they can sleep at night! If I could give them zero stars I would. read more

Milton Frank Plumbing installed a water heater at our house on 10/30/13. Over the last couple months, I've had to relight the pilot. Today it would not relight. I called Milton Frank because they installed the unit. They offered to have someone out today but because of the age of the unit, "It will need to be replaced, $2400-2800". I scheduled someone to come out. After my call, I asked the Google and YouTube. I have learned that most likely the part that needs to be replaced is the Thermocouple. $14 on Amazon or through Ferguson. When the technician got to my home, he was insisted I needed to replace the water heater because of its age. I said why would you not replace the $14 part first before spending $2800 for a replacement. He said that the labor was too expensive, with the age, it has to be replaced. I asked him to leave. WTH... Who in their right mind would choose to replace the entire water heater before trying a $14 part? Oh, and I forgot to mention, during my time to research - I got quotes from 2 other plumbers. One was $1200 and one was $1500 for a replacement. This exact water heater is in stock and $631 at the plumbing supply store down the street. Now, is it time for a new water heater, MAYBE. However, I'm so tired of the price gauging and companies like this taking advantage of people. read more

I recently clogged my sink cleaning out the refrigerator. The plumber sent by Milton Frank left three separate messes inside and outside of my home. If I hadn't inspected his work after he left, the significant amounts of water and food debris would have damaged my cabinets and attracted pests.
