Absolutely fantastic. I had a rough week with my Dad going into hospital for emergency surgery and when he got out and home, their HVAC went out. I called another "big name" brand first and they showed up and proceeded to take hours to troubleshoot, quoted me several wrong solutions and repeatedly tried to completely gouge me on ridiculous options that made no sense. I excused them and found Cool It on Yelp. Soooo glad I did! I had previously called another company because they came highly rated and had done a good job for us before. They sent a technician out that either had no idea what she was doing or her gauges/tools were bad/malfunctioning. She stated the coolant pressure was VERY low and that there was a leak in the system. She couldn't find the leak, so her solution was to offer an "isolation test" to "find the leak," which would cost $2200!! I told her no thank you and that I would seek a second opinion. I called Cool-It Air Conditioning and Heating. The owner of Cool-It, Vixiene, came out personally and performed diagnostics. He stated that not only was the coolant pressure COMPLETELY normal (not VERY low as the other tech stated), but that there was definitely no leak in the system either since the pressures were reading totally normal. I saved $2200 by calling Cool-It Air Conditioning. Vixiene, the owner of Cool-It Air Conditioning and Heating was VERY professional, courteous, and most importantly VERY knowledgeable. He was so nice, punctual, and did a great job. Because he found no issues with the system, he waived the diagnostic/service charge as a courtesy and told us just to monitor the system. He told us that if we had any further issues to call him and he would come right back out. I would without hesitation use Cool-It Air Conditioning and Heating again and would recommend them for any HVAC or heating needs that you might have. A heating/cooling company is only as good as the technicians that they send out, and I think that any tech that Vixiene sees fit to hire or trains in his company is going to be very knowledgeable about any issues that a residential property might be having. read more

I contacted Vixiene on a Tuesday morning seeking a repair visit for an issue that was not urgent. He told me he had time on Thursday morning and I told him I had a commitment later Thursday morning. He scheduled a time for me between 9 and 10. He called me at 8:55am Thursday land asked if I was at home. I told him I was ready and waiting for him. He said his ETA was 30 to 40 minutes depending on traffic. Crickets until I called him at 10 to tell him I had to get going. He was still on the other side of town! He gets a second star for picking up both times I called. Other than that, I prefer someone who will be straight with me about time and let me know when they are running late. After getting screwed by Reid's Refrigeration Cool-it was there to save the day. Reid's sold me $500 of parts I didn't need then they told me I needed a part they didn't know if they could get and never called me back. They basically left me and my family with no air conditioner and the Texas summer heat of 90° inside my house and could care less. To make it worse they kept asking to speak with my husband!!!!! I called Cool-It and spoke with the owner and he immediately told me that he had a part I needed and they could be there within 30 minutes. Cool-it's service is awesome. I've called on them for help a few times, once for maintenance and a couple times for repairs. Vixiene is who has come out each time and he is great. Most recently I had a problem with my house taking a long time to cool. Vixiene took a look at the unit and asked if anyone had worked on it before. I told him about a year ago the coil had been replaced and he pointed out that it wasn't installed correctly which was causing an air leak. He suggested I contact the installer and have them correct the issue. He didn't charge me a cent for coming out and even checked my refrigerant level as a courtesy. But the awesome service doesn't end there. I had the other company come out and they suggested replacing the furnace which would cost almost $4k. I wanted a second opinion so asked Vixiene to come out and if he agreed with the diagnosis I'd rather he do the work. Well, he came out and said that the furnace was fine and to escalate my issue with the other company. I did that and had a senior tech come out. He agreed that the furnace was fine and went ahead with repairing the original install. He also admitted that the original diagnosis was wrong and apologized for the mistake. I don't know if they were trying to take advantage of my situation but I'll give them the benefit of the doubt. What I do know is Vixiene for sure was not doing that and he saved me from potentially spending thousands on an unnecessary repair. And he never charged me a penny for his time. One of the two A/C systems in my house stopped working, so I called the company that had been using for 12+ years. After making their diagnosis, they told me that they required ordering a spare part. After 4 days without hearing from them, I called them and they informed me that because of the age of my equipment, the spare part was no longer available, and the only option was to replace the entire unit. Due to the questionable arguments I was given and the lack of updates about the repair process, I decided to look for another company. The reviews I read about Cool-it include in many of them the key words of what is important to me, such as honesty, timely service, reasonable price, knowledge, and professional treatment. Sent message from Yelp that my air conditioner was not working and thought it was the thermostat but it was something else. Instead of selling me a thermostat, when I didn't need one, Cool-It's technician, Billy, diagnosed the problem within five minutes - clogged drain caused the A/C to turn off which is what is supposed to happen but I thought it was the thermostat. Cleaned the drain, told me what to do every few months to keep clear, and we had air conditioning on. I contacted them around 10:00 AM on a Sunday and they were here by 1:00 PM on Sunday and didn't charge a crazy amount for a Sunday repair - just normal amount. Technician Billy was professional and polite. Had to go into the room with the A/C unit but asked first if anyone was in the room because the door was shut (it was in a different room but he did ask first). We've used Cool-It for 2-3 years for annual ac/heat checkups. They always seemed to do a thorough job for a competitive price. Until this year, I would have rated Cool-It 5-Star. The HVAC equipment in our house is old and will need replacement soon. Last year, Cool-It gave me a reasonable quote to change-out all of the equipment. I began to question the cooling efficiency of the downstairs ac system during the May-July, 2021 time period. I made repeated attempts to contact Cool-It (via text and website service request) and never received a return call. At the beginning of the summer I noticed the mercury, well...digital temp on the thermostat climbing a little so I gave Vixiene a call. He came out to the house and noted there may be a leak in the system. Taking another look at the evaporator coil, he still could not determine if this is where the leak was coming from. He proceeded to refill the Freon (1.5lbs) and added a sealant to the system that would stop small leaks. Well, here we are almost 5 months (and 1 brutal summer) later and the system is still running cold without massively expensive repair. I would just like to reiterate this man and Cool-It is by far the best AC service in town and Vixiene has a customer for life. If you know anything about Houston in July, then you know how distressed I was to see my thermostat keep ticking up, despite my desperate and futile jamming of the "down" button. With the temperature in the house hanging around an oppressive 92 degrees at 10 o'clock at night, the hubby and I loaded up the baby and two puppers and escaped to the sweet, sweet refrigerated air of a nearby motel. Billy was at the house by 11 a.m. He was very professional and courteous, and was quick to diagnose the problems in our A/C unit. So about two months ago my ac wasn't cooling the outside unit wouldn't run I found Cool-it they sent out this Vixiene AKA the Business Owner came out on sort notice wow right. Well until after only being at my house 5 minutes?for condenser never even stepping into my attic starts saying I need to replace everything and the minimum would exceed 8k just for starters I told him that I could not afford anything right now and sent him on his way. So then I called on friends to get referrals and someone said did you check the breaker I was like no and so I go check it is flipped I reset it and the unit has been cooling every since I didn't write anything sooner because I wanted to make sure it stayed on and I got busy.
