I had a wonderful experience here today. My company was there as wedding vendors to do hair and makeup in a gorgeous spacious suite. We were thrilled to find out they had valet parking. Even more thrilled that it was only $14 for our short 4.5 hour stay. We travel with a ton of supplies. They graciously offered to help unload the luggage onto the cart, brought it up to the suite, and back down again. They were patient, courteous and handled our bags with care. The front desk was expecting us and was ready with the elevator key. The staff treats you very well. We weren't even overnight guests. I'll be pestering the wedding planner on staff in the hopes they'll recommend us to future brides. We'd love to come back. We've been in business 11 years and have been to many hotels all over Wisconsin and have never ever been treated so well. Thank you!!!! read more

Very impressive "category 4" hotel in downtown Milwaukee. From the beautiful fireplace and library themed entry to a clean and spacious room, I really enjoyed my visit. The hotel room was pristine and king bed ultra comfortable. The bathroom had Kohler accessories and was immaculate. Gold status allowed for a later checkout (1:00pm) and access to the executive lounge, where I feasted on a hot breakfast and espresso. The service was great. One notable anecdote was that I needed a lint roller and the concierge searched in three different offices before locating one for me. Awesome effort! The gym is decent: five treadmills, three elliptical, a few bikes and weight machines. The pool is adjacent to the gym on the second floor and is more of a wading pool (certainly not conducive for lap swimming). Overnight valet parking will run $34- this is astronomical considering other parking garage prices in the city, but coming from Chicago, this was a comparable rate. read more

Stayed here overnight for a concert. Staff was very friendly at first but be warned. This hotel is very very greedy and unprofessional. My girlfriend credit card was charged a $250 fine. They said the fine was because they detected smoke in the room even though we do not smoke. read more

I don't even know were to start with my review because everything was so FANTASTIC. EVERYONE at the Marriott went above and beyond for us the whole weekend we were there for my sons wedding. We hosted the rehearsal dinner at their Jackson Street room and it was PERFECT. They set up the room just the way we requested. Our last minute request for candles in the room was instantly accommodated. They even spread rose petals around the candles. The room was perfect and exactly what the bride had envisioned for their rehearsal dinner. The space had such a great atmosphere for a small party (32 people). The food was so good and the staff was FANTASTIC!!! Every one that helped put the event together was so nice and efficient. We LOVED our bartender and the buffet staff was wonderful. They couldn't of been more attentive to keeping the buffet filled with food and being available for anything else we needed. The morning of the wedding we also used the Jackson Street room as the bridal suite. The bride and bridesmaids were able to have their hair and makeup done and spend time together. This room was PERFECT for them to relax and have food while they all got ready for the wedding. We originally booked a smaller conference room for this purpose but the hotel moved use into the Jackson Street room when it hadn't been booked for that morning. This was really wonderful of the hotel to do. We had many guest that also stayed at the hotel and everyone was quite impressed with how comfortable the beds and pillows were. My room was perfect and right down the hall from the Jackson Street room which was so convient. The hotel staff, valet and front desk staff couldn't of been more wonderful the entire weekend. They truly went above and beyond to help me with ANYTHING that I needed and were truly there for me when I was under so much stress to coordinate all the events for that weekend. The Millioke bar was a great hang out for all our family and guest on Friday and Saturday night and the staff was great. We had a lot of fun there and it has a great atmosphere for socializing. We also had tables reserved for around 25 guests the day after the wedding for breakfast. This worked out so well for us to be able to eat and talk about the wedding the day after. While the food was GREAT the service was a little slow for our large group, but I would still highly recommend it. I would especially like to say thank you to both Rebecca our coordinator who helped us plan all the details, the front desk manager Sam and all the totally AWSOME valet's at the hotel. You all helped make our weekend very special and worry free. I will definitely recommend your hotel to anyone that wants a great staff and hotel to host their events. read more

The food was over priced but descent for a cafe. There is a starbucks in the hotel which was nice. The pool was dirty and the hot tub was even worse also there were no towels. You have to park a block away or pay $25 a day for valet. The valet took up to 20 minutes to get the car as their parking lot was a block and half away. Up until this point we had a fair stay. My husband forgot his wedding band on the sink in the room on the second to last day. We were out for the day and I didn't think it was a big deal (it was a wedding band - no diamonds) but had sentimental value. When we returned to the room, the ring was gone but our room was clean. We went to the front desk and alerted the guest service representative who stated they would put a claim in if we didn't come across it. We searched the room from top to bottom and did not find it anywhere. We alerted the front desk that it was not anywhere to be found and they proceeded with filling out the paperwork. The front desk rep stated someone would be in contact with us. We waited for a phone call and she proceeded to state that since the room was in my name, I had to call her (we are married lady and it was HIS ring). I left three voicemails and she never returned my calls. Then. I got a letter in the mail stating that they had done everything they could to recover the ring. They did a physical search of the room which returned negative results and a lock out read of the room was done which ONLY SHOWED GUEST ENTRIES. Who cleaned my room? Wouldn't they need a "key" to enter? I agree that they should not be held responsible but do not make us jump through these hoops only to lie to us. That is bad business. The decor was nice but once you looks past the frills, you're only paying for the location. read more

We stayed here for a single night this weekend. The hotel was nice and had a new/clean feel. All was well and warranted a 4-5 star review until we left the hotel. I called ahead for the valet and was told 'your car will be up in 10 minutes'. After going down to the front (10 minutes later), my car was not ready. I waited another 10-15 minutes and then discussed with the valet gentlemen hovering at the stand, who let me know that it's on its way. Another 10-15 minutes go by and those that are requesting their cars to be picked up at the stand are having their cars come down. Finally the seemingly worthless guy went on break and was replaced by a lady who personally jogged up and obtained my car that I requested almost an hour prior-to. Unacceptable service for a Marriott hotel. I could have parked in the lot across the street for $12 a night, but like the convenience/ease of a valet service. What a $30 disappointment. UPDATE: Management made it right. Immediately reimbursed our valet fee & some hotel points. Major Props to Hotel management for taking care of the situation. read more

I hadn't been to Milwaukee in a few years and the return was a pleasant surprise. The downtown area was clean and vibrant with restaurant week starting. Staying at the downtown Marriott was a last minute decision after snagging a great day of rate off the Marriott website. Valet parking is steep ($32/day) but you can walk to less expensive parking garage and self park. The room was clean and good sized. The Marriott beds are usually firm and the bed linens high thread count ensuring a good night's sleep. The downside of the room was the view. Ours was an even numbered room and the view out the window was of a lower roof of the building and the back windows of warehouse or other industrial type building. As it was a quick overnight trip, it didn't matter that much but would be a concern for a longer stay. Front desk staff was helpful as could be expected at a Marriott.. There a library/sitting area with books on the first floor of the hotel and you can sip a drink. read more

Spouse will be here for 4 weeks and I came up week 2 to visit. He had to ask more than once for his bedding to be changed. Staff overall are very friendly and attentive but the constant asking for towels, cups, and toiletries, is rather annoying. The rooms are very clean, as far as floor and bathrooms are concerned. No odd smells, and the hallways are kept quiet. Overall a nice place to stay, centrally located, Starbucks and a restaurant located within the hotel. Valet folks are wonderful and always great us with a hello and ask if we need directions etc. They are very welcoming! read more

Standard Marriot expectations were almost met here. The Wi-Fi never linked up which was a slight inconvenience. Housekeeping was a bit scant for a four-day stay (asked for a new coffee set up and got coffee but no cream/sugar/lids for to-go cups, ran through our towels on the final day, etc). The Starbucks on site closes after lunch which was annoying when you are expecting the convenience factor and when there are Starbucks signs greeting you upon your arrival to the hotel. Marriott Milwaukee, 323 East Wisconsin Avenue, Milwaukee, Wisconsin 414-278-5999 9/19/18: Arrived around midnight. Was checked in at the front desk without issues and requested a wakeup call at 7 a.m. 9-20-18 wakeup call activated at 7 a.m. as requested 9/20/18 Left MARRIOTT at 8:00 a.m. and seen by dark haired white male/valet because he is stationed at the front door. It was raining and I told him that I was from CA and it does not rain there. He said, you're right. Returned to MARRIOTT at 8:45 p.m. and entered Room 327 with guest key. Found the t.v. on, unmade bed and dirty towels on the bathroom floor as I had left it at 8:00 a.m. Call made to concierge and asked for manager. Was connected to Armgod, no last name. He said, that I must have left the do not disturb sign on the door (for 12 hours?) and responded that the t.v. goes on in the rooms automatically. A t.v. operating automatically must only happen in the MILWAUKEE MARRIOT. I then asked can you confirm the name of this hotel? He said the MARRIOTT. To which I said "this must be motel 6 not a five star hotel. If YOU allow your staff to watch t.v. in my room, the least they can do is make up the bed, turn the t.v. off and clean the bathroom!" I also told Armgod the MARRIOTT customer feedback so far was zero stars as this type of customer services was deplorable. And, as a California visitor, the MARRIOTT did not leave a good first impression. Armgod responded that he would make it a priority the next day. 9/21/18: Room 327 was cleaned the next day but the carpet area had bits of candy wrapper (courtesy of housekeeping was left on the carpet). On 9-22-18, I arrived at the MARRIOTT at 7:58 pm and dialed wake up call concierge requesting a 4 a.m. wake up call for Sunday 9-23-18 to catch a 6:45 a.m. flight from Mitchell Airport. NO WAKE UP CALL WAS ENTERED. I jumped out of bed at 6:30 (for a 6:45 boarding) but I called the wakeup call desk to tell them. "I HATE THIS HOTEL, NO WAKE UP CALL AND I HAVE MISSED MY FLIGHT!" The person who answered just hung up. Nice treatment from the MARRIOTT. I immediately tossed everything into my carry on. When I arrived at the check in/out desk, I was forced to leave the 2 key cards on the counter as THE FRONT DESK WAS EMPTY. This is a 5 star hotel? When I arrived at the airport, late for my flight, later return of the rental car, I was told by American Airlines that the next flight on standby was at 5:20 p.m.! I then called the MARRIOTT and asked for the general manager and was connected to Sam. He had heard about the no housekeeping incident but was shocked to hear about the no wake up call. He stated that this event exceeded the norm and acknowledged the repercussions caused by missing a flight. THIS MUST BE THE 5 STAR EXPERIENCE WHEN YOU FORK OUT $1166 FOR BARELY 4 NIGHT STAY AT THE MILWAUKEE MARRIOTT! As a direct result of the NO WAKE UP CALL, I was forced: To pay a late return fee to Alamo of the rental car; $75 fee to change my flights, airport meals that I had to buy, additional parking fees, i.e. all additional I had to incur unnecessarily had I made my flight on time with a 4 a.m. WAKE UP CALL. Had I properly received the simple WAKE UP CALL, I would have left MILWAUKEE, aka NORTH KOREA, at 6:45 a.m. and returned to Ontario, CA at 1:00 p.m., not 1:00 a.m. read more

This is a nice hotel, but I don't understand how in 2017 hotels in major cities charge for wifi.

I will start with the negatives or rather my bad experience and then look to the bright side of this new hotel. To start off, when arriving at the hotel we were greeted by the valet only to find out that they were not helpful at anything but parking our car. We had a lot of luggage and coolers and were given a couple carts to load up on the side of the road by ourselves. As we struggled to push the carts from our cars, through the doors and up the ramp no one helped, concierge just stared and as my aunt was almost in tears, another hotel guest came to help. As we got up to our room, thankfully we were greeted with a very chic and clean hotel room which alleviated some of the stress we were just under. Overall, service was decent but that first impression really stuck. We also were surprised, which was probably just our bad, that there was no complimentary breakfast or coffee served; and that a small bag of pretzels would cost $4! Also, they apparently only had two luggage carts for the entire hotel which caused us a very long wait in the morning. Luckily, we had hotel points that paid for the room otherwise we may have caused a little more hell over our service. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone considering there are other hotels in the area with better service and better parking situation read more

This is a nice new Marriott in a good location. Not much of a view to speak of from my 7th floor room but the room was nice. I especially like the glass door shower. For room service, I had the spinach salad and bacon shrimp. Both were very good and not outrageously pricey for Marriott room service. I was only staying for a night so did not check out the work out facilities. Service was friendly but parking was an issue. It was not clear where the self-park was and valet was $33/night. read more

They were able to give me my own room to use for pumping. Free of charge. Nursing moms don't usually get this kind of treatment. Kudos to Marriott for supporting working moms!!! read more

If you are a golf fan you will understand this.....How do you have a rooms blocked for the 2015 PGA Championship at Whistling Straits but you don't have the Golf Channel available in your rooms on the TV lineup during the PGA? For the record, ESPN is not a golf network, it is more Entertainment Tonight than it is the 6:00 local sports report. Doesn't qualify as Golf Coverage. There are too many wonderful things about this hotel to write about....So I will just say this the staff is AMAZING from front desk (David, Colleen, Kerri, Shey, Denisia), to the valet attendants, the restaurant / bar (Matt, Tony, Patrick, Courtney, Kate and countless others) to the housekeeping staff (who you never see but somehow this place is impeccable).
