A Hidden Filipino Gem in the Heart of El Paso - Kanto Fud…read more
If you're craving bold flavors, warm vibes, and a taste of the Philippines, let me introduce you to Kanto Fud -- El Paso's newest Filipino food spot that just opened its first brick-and-mortar location off Dallas and Montana.
What started as a humble food truck has blossomed into a cozy café-style space that feels like a mix between your favorite coffee shop and a karaoke bar. Karaoke happens daily, and live music adds to the fun on weekends. Come ready to eat, relax, and vibe.
Here's what I ordered (all for just $40!):
Sisig - Crispy, sizzling pork chopped and tossed with onions, garlic, and a touch of chili. Add a fried egg on top and it's even better.
Pancit - Filipino stir-fried noodles with veggies. Light, savory, and comforting.
Pork Adobo - Tender pork chunks braised in soy sauce, vinegar, and spices. It's rich, flavorful, and melts in your mouth.
Fried Pork - Like crispy pork chops, but thinner and crunchier. Served with rice and dipping sauce. Simple, satisfying, and perfectly seasoned.
You can add a fried egg to almost anything -- and you should.
Desserts available now:
Flan
Ube cookies
Turon (crispy plantain spring rolls with brown sugar and jackfruit)
Coming soon: Halo-Halo, a popular Filipino shaved ice dessert with ube, sweet beans, and leche flan.
