Im in town for a concert and decided to try this Korean place. The place is extremely small. I know this is not their fault but at least when I was there it was packed and people were standing outside, I do think they could have a bigger space at least one with more than just 4 tables. It was a bit uncomfortable with how loud it was and sitting next to strangers not being able to have a comfortable conversation with the person in front of you. The food was really good! I enjoyed the tteokbokki so much and I feel like as simple as this dish is, a lot of places sometimes miss. Again I know it isn't their fault maybe the day I came in it was really busy and maybe it's not that busy usually but I would have liked to be in a bigger space.

We got the family meal with Pork Belly, a Kimchi Stew, combination fried rice and a sample of Pork Bulgogi.

Great new place! The food was delicious! And the servers were super sweet and kind!. Its a small place but the food packs a huge flavourful filling meal! We're definitely adding this to our Favorites!

Garlic 1% - A Must-Try for Authentic & Healthy Korean Food! After months of anticipation, Garlic 1% has finally opened, and it exceeds expectations! This small, family-run spot is already packed daily, proving that their healthy, MSG-free, and fermented Korean flavors are exactly what El Paso needed. What We Ordered We went with the Family Meal (available all day, despite being listed as dinner). It came with: Three meats: Beef Bulgogi (sweet), Pork Belly, and Chicken Bulgogi-- all perfectly marinated and tender. Rice, salad, and a generous spread of banchan (side dishes): Kimchi, fish cakes, lotus root, bean sprouts, seaweed spinach, celery, and my favorite--tiny anchovies with pine nuts and walnuts, a perfect balance of sweet and salty. Because of the busy crowd, the owner generously treated us to house-made fried mandu (dumplings), which were crispy, flavorful, and paired with a perfect dipping sauce. We also ordered the salted fried mackerel. The chef personally asked if we wanted it filleted or whole (we got both!). It's salty and has bones, so if you're not used to traditional Korean-style fish, take it slow. The Heart Behind Garlic 1% This restaurant isn't just about food--it has a meaningful mission. The owners, who both lost spouses to cancer, wanted to create a healthier Korean dining experience featuring house-made kimchi, black garlic, and soybean-free paste, all without artificial additives like MSG. Instead, they use natural ingredients like: Seaweed - For umami Mushroom powder - Deep, savory notes Tomato paste - Natural sweetness Garlic and ginger - Bold, warming flavors A Few Things to Know It's very busy. Seating is limited, and you may be seated close to others. Try coming for weekday lunch if you want a shorter wait. The Family Meal is an amazing deal--great portions, quality, and value. Garlic 1% 1475 George Dieter Dr #L2, El Paso, TX 79936 If you love authentic, flavorful Korean food with a health-conscious twist, this is a must-visit. I can't wait to go back!

They are on DoorDash now!! The fresh deliciousness does not fall short if delivered. I got my favorite Kimchi Stew and Kimchi pancake. And they included rice, and an assortment of their starters you get in person! As always the service was perfect and am happy I can place an order for delivery from my favorite place.

Food doesn't taste as authentic as other Korean restaurants in the El Paso area. Sercvice is good and friendly.

Let me start off by saying that the kind lady who I believe is one of the owners was so nice. She reminded me of my own grandmother serving me food with love back then. The food was also delicious and fresh!!!!! Banchan (Korean sides) were so tasty that I asked for more. We got the kimchi jigae, bulgogi plate, and mandu. AMAZING!!!!!!

Cafe Korea's New Far East Location: Great Food, But Some Growing Pains…read more Cafe Korea has officially reopened at 1452 N Zaragoza Rd Unit A-900, and as someone who missed their Northeast location, I was excited to visit. The space is larger, parking is easier, and the menu still features those comforting Korean staples--but there are some definite hiccups that need attention. First impressions: each table comes equipped with a portable butane grill, which is impressive considering the cost to run them. But while the grills worked well, the ventilation is poor--expect to leave smelling like smoke, and brace yourself for the heat. The restaurant was already uncomfortably warm, and with summer just starting, that's going to be a serious issue for both diners and staff. Service was, unfortunately, disorganized and inconsistent. While the staff were friendly, they seemed overwhelmed and underprepared. There didn't appear to be table assignments, and we often had to wave someone down for water or more banchan. At one point, I saw groceries being brought in through the back--suggesting that even the kitchen operation might be scrambling behind the scenes. Now, to the food--still the highlight. The banchan was delicious and clearly homemade, and once we got a refill, they were generous with portions. The meat quality was excellent, and we were able to share a BBQ set among two adults and two kids and still leave satisfied. But the price point? High. Our modest lunch totaled around $60, including charges for water. A friend who went earlier in the week paid $70 for a seafood pancake and galbi--for one person. With Gen Korean BBQ opening nearby offering all-you-can-eat options, and other local Korean spots like Tommy's Express and Garlic 1% serving equally fresh meals at lower prices, it's fair to question how sustainable this model is. Final Take: Cafe Korea still delivers on flavor, but the overall experience is rough around the edges. Between high prices, spotty service, and a sweltering dining room, it's hard to fully enjoy the meal. I want them to succeed--but to compete in today's Eastside food scene, they'll need to iron out the basics fast.

We both wanted to try their food since it's hard to find Thai establishments out here in El Paso. I'm from SoCal and there were plenty of options where I lived. Flame Thai is a pretty big restaurant when you walk in. They have plenty of seating for their customers which is nice. The decor is very sparse and two out of the 3 tv screens up at the front were not working. They allowed us to pick where we wanted to sit and we chose one of the booths. Right away I noticed part of the crown molding on the wall was missing. The overall visual appeal of the restaurant could use some tlc or a whole new revamp. For the positives: our waiter was friendly and attentive. He came to check up on us a couple times throughout our meal which was nice. Their Thai tea came in pretty big glasses and tasted good! Tasted like the bottled Thai tea I used to get from the market. I did like their crab Rangoon for appetizer, it was fried perfectly and the sauce for dipping was tasty! I also ordered the red curry and requested extra curry sauce. The portion was huge and enough for two people. They also got the spice level perfectly. The negatives were the beef bowl my husband ordered. He said it was very bland and had virtually no flavor. It also looked more like a salad bowl with how much lettuce they filled it with. The biggest disappointment was their pad Thai. That is one of my favorite Thai dishes and they managed to mess it up. For some reason it tasted more like sweet and sour noodles rather than pad Thai. I did not taste any fish sauce at all in the dish. It make me think of orange chicken sauce mixed with rice noodles. Not very tasty at all and I was left disappointed. Pad Thai is one of the most common dishes you find at Thai restaurants so I'm not sure how they managed to screw it up so badly. Lastly, the price of everything was over $80. Which both my husband and I did not think was worth the quality of food we got. Very expensive for subpar dishes. Not even the crab Rangoon or red curry could make it worth the price. We most likely would not return but I'm glad the whole meal wasn't a busy. They had a couple decent dishes but the ones they messed up just couldn't justify the price paid.
