I stopped next door at "verde salad" around noon (lunch time) but their line was very long and not moving so I walked to Mirai Bowl. I encountered fast service, healthy and delicious food. I have visited the Mirai Bowl locations in different parts of town and always get great service. There is a female employee at the Montana location who is very rude and unprofessional. The gentleman who makes the food is very polite and professional he has worked there for sometime. This is my go to spot! The sushi is amazing... I recommend the Amigo roll if you like spicy food. It's fried & has a kick to it! The food is freshly made as soon as you order it. Found this place totally by accident. I was actually on my way over to Zinos for some Greek food but I stopped here to try out their spicy udon. In a nutshell, the place is small, the service was quick and friendly, the food was yummy. Thumbs down for the old lemon slices they had next to the drink machine. They were so dry I didn't understand why people kept getting them to put in their drinks. Yuck. Maybe I'm just one of those people who notice stuff like that. Made me wonder how long the various sauces near the lemons had been sitting out as well. I'll pass. The portions are HUGE. The bento boxes looked yummy, I will most likely try one of those next time. Service was nothing more than typical service. When we had to-go, it was fast and prompt. The fish is tasty and fresh but I don't think it's worth price you pay. One of the slices of the roll didn't even have the cream cheese it was suppose to have. And there's only 5 pieces (pictured) $7.50 We had a chicken teriyaki bowl. For $4.99. Place an order for me and my family and guy in the kitchen decided to prioritize the guy next to me and all the window orders, when I asked what was happening he said that my order was mote difficult and haven't even started with my order after 40 minutes!!! When I asked for my money back the guy denied my request and said he was the owner. When I asked for his name he got confrontational infront of my wife and 2 kids and did not get a refund. For a place with the tagline "Japanese Express," I felt like there was more of a Korean influence on the place. I grew up in Japan, so I get excited when someone tells me about a place that serves Japanese cuisine. Before coming into Mirai Bowl, I was expecting a beef bowl place similar to Yoshinoya in Japan, but their beef bowl tasted more like Korean bulgogi. I also tried their Korean Ramen and it actually wasn't too bad. Maybe it's just me, but it seems like Americans have reduced ramen to Cup Noodles or Top Ramen, which is so disappointing being that ramen in Japan is much more than meal for broke college kids. With that said, Mirai Bowl's ramen does a fairly decent job representing what a bowl of ramen could be. For such a large bowl, I would've liked to have had more noodles. I kept digging around hoping to find more, but had no luck. All in all, it wasn't horrible. I'd definitely go back again. Only thing I thought they could improve is their customer service practice. We had never been there before and stood there attempting to decide what we want. The cashier stood there with a stone face, just staring at us, no smile or anything. Mirai makes a pretty decent Chicken Teriyaki bowl, my only issue is that they don't put much sauce on the chicken, though the chicken is still tender and juicy, it needs more sauce! No big deal, I'll just ask for more sauce next time. I also wish they offered a spicy version of the Chicken Teriyaki, though again, its not a huge deal because they have chili sauce on the side. I also tried their California Roll, it was alright, the sushi won't blow you away, so I'd only recommend ordering it if you're in the mood (but in that case you're better off going to a sushi place). But if you want to order a roll as an appetizer, it will do the trick, just don't expect much. All in all, not bad, especially for the price, the Chicken Teriyaki bowl is only $5, and its well portioned too! So you'll leave satisfied for lunch. The restaurant is kinda small, so expect to sit close to others (like in Japan!), or you can just grab it to go. A great place for a quick lunch. Quick service. There might be a long line when you get there, but it will move fast. You can pick from ramen, sushi, teriyaki and more. You'll certainly be able to find something on the menu that you'll enjoy. I've found the food to be very consistent the several times that I've been here. Gets quite crowded at lunch time. I find it very conspicuous that this doesn't exist on the Northeast Side....in my opinion, it's similar to the one Korean restaurant in Houston that is the only one in Chinatown. Shadowless kicks aside, I was really looking for a more traditional, filling noodle experience, Japanese or Korean, it really didn't matter to me. I knew that the place was owned by Koreans (I'm Korean myself), but I didn't appreciate the bland cabbage, snow peas, and other assorted veggies that don't typically find their way into Korean OR Japanese-style ramen. I could tell it was made from a Shin package or bowl, which I could have easily picked up at the Korean supermarket. The people were friendly enough, and they had a small but decent selection of Asian drinks. I can also appreciate that the servings are big, so two stars there. But I think these weren't redeeming enough for me to go back. If I'm super hungry, I'll get a burger instead. read more

This is one of best places to get good sushi at an amazing price. I usually get the Chirashi Fish Bowl which is a big serving of tuna, salmon, yellowtail, crab, spicy tuna, and shrimp on a bed of rice for $11.25. I can never seem to finish it. Today, I tried their Tuna Poke, and it was glorious. Seasoned tuna topped with seaweed, masago, and sprouts on a bed of rice for $10.99. I may have found a new favorite. The location on Montana has these awesome dishes that they don't serve at other Mirai bowls. I don't even live nearby, but I make the trek out here as often as I can. read more

It wasn't that great. I ordered the #1,#2, tuna poke and a Vegas roll. The Vegas roll seem to have a lot of rice in it and very little salmon. The chicken was rubbery and the tuna poke bowl was blan and didn't seem fresh. I was intrigued by the special half off sushi, but unfortunately that special has been expired for 3 years and failed to remove it from their website. Upon entering I asked the girl behind the counter what she recommended, and she shrugged saying most people got the Teriyaki bowl. Mirai Bowl is the closest thing to healthy i can get when i forget my lunch or need to get something quick to eat. The chicken teriyaki bowl with brown rice is the basic but delicious option i always choose but you can also get beef, white rice, or fried rice on your bowl. A nice extension to their menu is sushi. Although i've learned its very hit or miss with the sushi freshness, it is very good when made to order. Personally i love Mirai Bowl because it is definitely the healthiest option i have available in the UTEP area. It is quick and affordable. The only thing i have a problem with is the customer service. They don't really seem to care about how they speak to customers. They seemed bothered to take your order and since its the same employees most of the week that never changes. I love their food but without the proper customer service skills they might scare away some people. read more
