Suzie was the best server you can ask for! We came in this morning for an early breakfast and she greeted us with a smile. She was so happy and helpful. The meals were yummy. Quiche was flaky and fresh, muffins delicious- carrot and the blueberry were tasty. The bacon and eggs were cooked well and arrived hot. Cappuccino was creamy and hot. We love to come on Sunday mornings and sit at the bar. Natalie is an amazing server! So genuine and kind she remembers customers and their situation which is important because it makes customers make important. The menu is French based but very delicious! The menu has a full variety of choices! The crepes are amazing but so are the omelettes! The specialty coffees are delicious and if you add a little liquid courage to it then it only elevates it even more! They are great for families, couples, and/or large groups! Sundays do get extremely busy, especially after church hours. Unfortunately, we don't have a Mimi's near us. My wife and I are fond of Eggs Benedict-- Mimi's gets it right with a Hollandaise that has just the right pop that most competitors don't get. (We just had a potato pancake Benedict that was surprising and quite good.) My wife loves their corn chowder. I really like the pressed chicken (not sure if this is still on the menu.). We both give hearty thumbs up to their muffins. After a particularly long streak of mediocre to bad coffee, Mimi's is very good-- and, they have French vanilla creemer, which we are particularly fond of. A special note on our waitress, Suzie. Ever bright and cheerful, Suzie caused us to laugh when she told us there was no need to hurry after paying our bill "we're open until 8 o'clock(tonight)." The "faux French maison" interior decoration is also quite charming. Many reasons to return. read more

After being treated horribly at a nearby restaurant, we decided to give Mimi's a try (it's been at least 10 years since the last time we came). Immediately greeted with a smile and "good morning" by Tracy (who ended up being our server)! The omelette was flavorful, and we were able to substitute for things that our diet allows. Restaurant was clean and had great decor! The manager, Gabriel, was wandering around making sure his customers were happy; he even sat with us for a while so we could tell him our story. I was meeting my mother and sister on Mother's Day. A day of next level chaos for restaurants. The service was spectacular. The person seating us was super friendly. Our server, Daisy, always had a smile and suggested items on menu items. I hadn't been there so didn't know the menu and needed recommendations. She came back a couple times. Once after we had a moment to start eating to make sure everything was satisfactory and then near the end to see if we needed anything. I hadn't the Spicy Mary which could be spiced a bit more for me. Then had the Pain Perdu with Mixed Fruit. It was delicious and filling. My sunny side eggs were cooked perfectly. As it was Mother's Day, there was a lot of children including a few screaming babies. Probably not as loud on a normal day. Certainly a place to comeback when I'm in town. Love Mimi's. They have seasonal pancakes and muffins right now. I did the pumpkin spice pancakes and had part of the pumpkin muffin. The pancakes are thick and you get four. But the star of the show was the pumpkin muffin. Awesome. read more

Service: 7/10 We came after lunch rush but it still took some time to have someone and take our order as well as bring us enough utensils for the table. Our server was really nice though. Ambiance: 7/10 The place is designed so weirdly like there is a lot of space in the front when you walk in but cramped in the back where you actually ate. My husband has been eating here for years!! I started going about 4 years ago. The food is always good. But what keeps us coming back is the service. We love our girls. They go out of their way to make you feel at home. Now that he is on hospice care he is almost very close to being bed ridden. Real terrible customer service. Went for breakfast today, got seated, waited for the waitress whom was a middle aged blonde lady to get me and company a beverage and never even acknowledged us. I have been a fan of MiMis for a while. They have gone through ups and downs over the years but recently have really done a great Job. I encourage you to visit the Modesto Location and try the burger as it is excellent. Most of the servers are really good and it's always a short wait. Good Ambiance and always clean including the restrooms. The Turkey dinner is great just make sure you request it to be extra hot. I also like the Quarter chicken and finally you cannot go wrong with the breakfast. Take a look at my burger and consider ordering it the same way. I always put sauce on the side. read more

Staying in Modesto for business. This restaurant looked interesting. I arrived earlier in the week at 8:00pm which was closing time. As I grabbed the door handle a worker grabbed it from the other side and pulled and locked it. The manager responded by giving me a business card and asked me to come back. I did tonight. It was mediocre at best. I had turkey Stuffing, green beans and mashed potatoes. Not real turkey but the processed type. Also had a lemonade and crème broulet for dessert. Bill was $40. Service was mediocre. I waited 20 minutes after asking for my bill. I'll most likely not be back. read more

Absolutely the best breakfast I have had hands down. Passing thru on my way to Fresno stopped to get a bite. Wanted to try it because it looks like a cute little grandma house on the outside. Parking lot was full expected a wait but they took us right away. Waitress took our drink order within 10 mins. After ordering our food was out within 15 mins. Ok I'm not a breakfast person but I finished every bit of my food. It was soooooo good. I got the farmhouse tacos. The country potatoes were perfectly crisp. Sooo--normally I love Mimi's Cafe of Modesto for their food and mimosas but their take out service was less than stellar today. After several attempts at phone calls being unanwered throughout the late afternoon/evening on Wednesday to finally have it answered by a gentleman who took my order, understanding that my daughter was picking it up sometime after 3 on Friday, I placed an order for Mother's Day. Fast forward to pickup time today (Friday after 3 PM) and there is no evidence of my order being placed, complete with credit card # to be used at pickup so it could be my gift to my daughter. Instead, she got personnel who chose to ignore her and act as though she was an imposition to their chatting among themselves about Harry Potter rather than try to figure out the problem. They also told her they did not take cards over the phone. So much for customer service. Disappointed. We're choosing to eat elsewhere for Mother's Day. read more

Went here as a family for Mother's Day and had a horrible experience. First off, waitress forgot my moms coffee, we had our soup and salad and still no coffee. Then our food took 1hr and 20 minutes to come out, and when it did, half of it was cold and all they did was put it in the microwave. Then I had to wait another 20 minutes for my dessert, which consisted of strawberries drizzled with chocolate...not sure how that takes forever to come out. Sure they apologized a time or two for the wait but then they charged us completely full price. As someone who works in a restaurant, at least comp a drink or something. So disappointing. read more
