    Super Food Scramble
    Chelle K.

I've been to Squeeze In 4 times before this review and have always enjoyed my experience, so maybe my visit last Sunday was just an off-day? I ordered the Super Food Scramble because I wanted something healthy and not too heavy. The scramble came with egg whites, spinach, broccoli, red bell peppers, zucchini, and added the turkey sausage for an additional charge. The scramble came with a nice serving of fresh fruit with melons, strawberries, pineapple, and blueberries and an English muffin. My husband ordered the breakfast burrito with turkey sausage and potatoes. Our food took a while to come out, at least 20 minutes. My food looked great, but the scramble was watery and had no flavor. I tried putting Chalula on it, but it didn't make up for the watery texture. The service started off great, but since it was an hour before close, everyone was busy trying to get their sidework done and it was difficult to get refills on iced teas and coffees. We just did without. My husband's burrito and potatoes also had no flavor. A little disappointing in terms of food quality and service. Although the experience could have been better, we'll probably try Squeeze In again sometime in the future. Modesto needs more fun and cool breakfast spots like this one.

I've always wanted to check this place out because of the reviews and finally got my chance. First off if you're going on the weekend be prepared to wait. There's usually a line, ok that's a positive sign the place is good. When we were called to a table my excitement was noticeable. My friend snickered I'm sure. As we walked into the funky establishment I looked at the patrons food. Yes, I admit it. So may options are listed on the menu. I go for savory of course while he, of course, goes for sweet. He ordered some sweet pancake thing As we waited for our...food and waited for our drink..it was crowded ok! Making a point here! I lo9ked around at the walls, the ceiling and the crazy decorations. Again a funky vibe with bright colors, alien stuff and whatever else. We liked the place a lot and have been back several times. With the cost of the world nowadays we don't go out as much as we used to. But when I stay over his place, he lives closer, and we have extra cash and wake up early enough we try to come in here for breakfast.

Food, service, and ambiance were very good. Nice little place tucked in the back of Modesto.

Squeeze In is definitely a spot I'd go back to. The food was honestly amazing. There was a bit of a wait when we arrived, but once the food came out, it was clear why the place was so busy. It was absolutely worth it. We kept our order pretty simple, but everything was done so well. I had a pancake with scrambled eggs and sausage, paired with country potatoes and orange juice. The pancake was fluffy and flavorful, not dry at all, and the scrambled eggs were soft and perfectly cooked. The sausage had great seasoning and a nice bite to it, and the country potatoes were crispy on the outside while still tender on the inside, which is exactly how they should be. We also ordered the Hangover Cure, and it definitely lived up to its name. It was hearty, filling, and packed with flavor. You can tell the ingredients are fresh and that care goes into how the dishes are prepared. Nothing felt rushed or thrown together, even with how busy they were. Overall, the food quality really stood out and made the wait feel justified. The atmosphere was lively and energetic, and it felt like a place people genuinely enjoy coming back to. The only reason I'm giving four stars instead of five is the wait time, but the food itself was delicious and satisfying. If you don't mind a short wait for really good breakfast food, Squeeze In is absolutely worth checking out.

Service was good very welcoming pretty cool surf atmosphere place. I got the pancakes with a butter honey special sauce. It was really good and I got a side of sausage. Also, good my husband got a bacon cheeseburger, which was awesome with garlic fries. Everything was good and we got that special bloody Mary, which was like lunch in a mug flavor was nice and spicy

This place is squeezed In (see what I did there?!) a corner of the Raley's shopping center. It is open for breakfast and lunch but gets really busy during weekend brunch time. There is both inside and patio seating. I love their menu! It's fun to read, and it has pictures for all sorts of items. There are a lot of items to choose from, but that never has diminished the taste or timing of the food. The food is more of comfort style, with some creative ideas in there as well. I believe Bobby Flay featured them on one of his TV shows, which is why several dishes are named after him (maybe not this particular one - they are a small chain but must be franchised?). This one is owned/run by a mother and son, if I remember correctly, and they do a great job! Everyone is super friendly and service is prompt and attentive, with everyone helping each other out, whether it's bringing the food, refilling, water, or coffee, or checking in at the tables. We told them that we were on a lunch break break and they made sure to get us in and out on time, since we came during a break in the crowds. They have different items you can order if you have allergies. This is great since I avoid gluten. In fact, when I was ordering, I asked if they had something on the menu, which they didn't, but they had the ingredients, so they made it for me. Cream cheese scrambled eggs with green onions on top! Yum! Talk about making the customer happy! Most plates seem to run about $15-$20, but the portions are good sized. Most of the time, I have leftovers to take home. Give this local place a try!

This worked fine for us. We had our menus and drinks in a reasonable time, and had a relaxing time throughout. We both had the pulled pork sandwich along with the ice tea. I also had the cup of chili - nicely spiced). I enjoyed my sandwich (skipping the bun, as I am trying to limit carbs). My friend, whom I realized often fusses about the meals we share, was more critical. His comments were "Wrong bun, hamburger bun shoulda been an onion bun" and "How long does it take to make a sandwich?" (The wait time was totally reasonable to me.) He didn't like the potato salad (but ate it all with little time spared). He liked the meat in the sandwich, giving it a 5 out of 5. He liked the service less (I felt it was on point and just fine.) Unfortunately, my dining experience wasn't as positive. I waited almost an hour and a half for my meal, and by the time it arrived, everyone else in my party had nearly finished eating. Since it took so long, I ended up taking the food home. I did try it later, but I wasn't very impressed. That may have been because the food was cold by the time I ate it, as it sat for quite a while before it was brought to me. While I truly appreciated the manager's efforts and customer service, the long wait time and overall food experience left me disappointed.

I showed up around 7pm and I thought it might have been closed because no one was here. But they were open. I ordered a Bauer burger with the house seasoned fries. They asked how I'd like the egg cooked and the burger cooked: I asked for medium for both. Given how dead the place was, it did take a minute to get my food. The burger was ok, not worth $21. The bun fell apart very quickly which is a bit of a cardinal sin in the burger game. The bacon on the burger was not bacon strips but a bit of bacon crumble. The patty was a bit overcooked so it was dry and it wasn't seasoned so it was bland. The egg was cooked perfectly, but the aioli and the egg yolk with a disintegrated bun made for a huge mess. The fries were interesting. The house seasoned fries are not salted. So the fries were almost sweet due to the spices, but no salt. And they do not have regular table ketchup or malt vinegar. I did ask for some ketchup and they brought me their house ketchup. While not like a classic ketchup, it was actually quite good. Oh, be aware. They will charge you a 4% fee when they bring you the check (what would have happened if I'd paid with cash?). I do not see anywhere on the menu where they say their is a payment fee so that is a pretty shady business practice. Overall: meh. I think for the price point the burger should have been great, but sadly I can't say it was great or even good. I'd likely not return.

The food was just your typical diner type, greasy spoon kind of place. I got an egg white omelette with ham (looked like cut up pieces of thin sliced deli meat) and asked that fresh potatoes be boiled in water or steamed in water due to food allergy. What I got was fried potatoes. When I questioned the server he just said that's how they come. Do they not have raw potatoes in the back they could have boiled for me?? The taste of the omelette was meh and I only ate 4 bites. I obviously didn't eat the potatoes. The English Muffin felt oily, like someone touched it with greasy hands. I had asked for it to be dry and with no butter. So basically I didn't eat any of my food and will not be back (this was my third time here and none of the other experiences were any better.) Such a shame because it is only 5-minutes from my house. My dad ordered the chicken fried steak and my mom got the taco salad and both of their meals were inedible too. The food here is just BAD. I told the server I didn't like my food and he didn't even answer me. He took away three plates of uneaten food and no one asked if there was an issue and no manager bothered to come over to even talk to us or try and make it right. What a HUGE waste of money. Don't bother eating here...so many other places to eat that are so much better. This place was packed and no real waiting area...everyone just squished together. This is a hustling and bustling place, so if you are looking for a quiet spot, at least don't go when we did. Best part of this place is their wall for taking pictures. I have left wonderful reviews in the past for this place but I have to share my experience…read morerecently. My boyfriend and I have been to Standard Pub several times during the day, and every visit has been fantastic. We've enjoyed the food, drinks, and even had the pleasure of speaking with the owner on multiple occasions. The service was always welcoming, and the food was consistently phenomenal. Because of those great experiences, we decided to bring some friends on a Saturday night. We arrived around 7:30 PM, and the atmosphere looked promising. There appeared to be a DJ setting up, and the crowd seemed excited for a night of music, food, and drinks. Unfortunately, our experience that evening was completely different from what we had come to expect. We ordered food and drinks, and while our server wasn't outright rude, he seemed uninterested in providing the level of service we had previously received. As the night went on, things became increasingly odd. Shortly after ordering another round of drinks, while our drinks were still full and we had just received them, the server approached our table and asked if we were finished. My boyfriend jokingly responded, "No, let me talk to your manager," and laughed, assuming the server was joking as well. The server responded, "Yeah, it's my brother," but with an attitude that left everyone at our table looking at each other wondering what had just happened. He then informed us that we needed to put a credit card on file. At that point, we had already been there for over an hour, and it seemed strange that this requirement was only being brought up then. We also noticed that no other tables around us were being asked for a card. The most disappointing part came when we received the bill. There was an additional $60 service charge added--$35 on my friends' bill and $25 on ours. Confused, we asked for an explanation. The explanations we received kept changing. First, we were told it was because my boyfriend was sitting with another group, which was completely false. Then we were told it was because the bill exceeded $100. After that, we were told it was because there were more than six people in our party, despite there only being four of us. The inconsistent explanations were frustrating and made it feel as though the staff were simply making up reasons to justify the charge. Our issue wasn't necessarily with a service fee itself--it was the lack of disclosure and the conflicting stories we were given when we asked about it. To make matters worse, the receipt also included a separate line for an additional tip. After discussing it with them and explaining that additional charges should be clearly communicated to customers, the service charge was ultimately removed. This review is not a reflection of the food, which remains excellent, nor of our previous experiences at Standard Pub. It is solely based on the service and handling of the situation during our Saturday night visit. We left feeling disappointed and confused, especially because this establishment had earned our trust through many positive visits in the past. I sincerely hope this was an isolated incident and that management addresses these issues so other customers don't have a similar experience

It is always a great spot to invite colleagues, family, and friends. They offer a solid selection of burgers and craft beer, and the location is very convenient in downtown Modesto, within walking distance of the Brenden Theatre and nearby venues like the Gallo Center. The customer service is phenomenal and they truly make you feel at home. If you need pickup, just give them a call and they will get you situated right away. Definitely recommend it.

Sadly disappointed…read more My friends and I stopped by Commonwealth on a Saturday afternoon for a late brunch. It was a beautiful day so it was busy for both indoor and outdoor seating. Here, you order your food, grab a number, and find your own seat for the food to be brought out to you. We sat at a table outside to decide what to order. There were no menus available so we just had to search for it online before heading inside to order. Despite being third in line from the register, we had an extremely long wait to order. There was only one person running the register who also had to make the drinks, meaning the service incredibly slow. We wanted to order the five taco platter, garlic fries, chicken Caesar salad, and mimosa pitcher. Sadly, we were only able to get the pitcher and salad. The cashier told us "sorry, we aren't doing fries right now." Not doing fries? Every plate in the vicinity had fries on them. She said that because it was brunch hour, only food on the brunch menu could be ordered. We looked at the brunch menu again and literally saw garlic fries as an option as a side for the burgers/sandwiches. No where did it specify that you can't order off the other menu and both were available online. What bothered us about this is that we placed this order at around 1:50pm, and brunch ended at 2:00pm. I understand that we are not entitled to things on the lunch menu during brunch-time for items like the tacos, but considering the menu swap was less than 10 minutes away and they were quite literally were "doing fries" at the time, it didn't make much sense to us. The only food that we ended up ordering was the Chicken Caesar Salad. This one dish took a super long time to receive. By the time it was brought out, the three of us nearly finished the Mimosa pitcher. The waitress noticed we had no silverware and said she would go grab us some. Because of how the service had been going thus far, we placed a bet on whether or not the waitress would come back with the silverware. Surprise, surprise. She didn't. We had to go inside later and search for silverware ourselves. We weren't even able to get sharing plates which was upsetting since the waitress asked us if we would be sharing the salad. The salad itself looked delicious, but was bland. The dressing was missing that zing and zest that a Caesar dressing typically has. I do appreciate that is was a chopped salad, had avocado, and seasoned croutons. It is just unfortunate that it was lacking any flavor at all. The food prices are quite affordable for the quantity of food you receive though. This experience was disappointing because I was so optimistic about the place. The menu looked good, it had fun and casual vibes and a cool crowd of people. If Commonwealth worked towards better service practices, it would have been a more positive experience.
