    Classic French Toast

Oooh wow! Definitely coming back to Oakley for this one!!! A refreshing breakfast that keeps you feeling full. The perfect ratio of balanced savory and sweet recommended is both a signature plate and French toast. The meat is heavy if you're not used to spam etc. Pairs well with their tropical drinks. Service is quick! BUT without the rush feeling. Servers are nice and friendly, wait time (you put your name on the list) and wait to get called, on a mid Sunday was less than 10 mins! Huge win! I'd definitely come back with the fair pricing with the portions you receive. (4 drinks, 4 plates around $100?) Yes, sign me up! It was SO delicious! Only con - please maintain your bathroom!

Food and service is phenomenal. A cute little restaurant that is very homey, and intimate. Portion sizes are well worth the price you are paying for. You have to try their mimosa flight where you get to choose your flavors. Only comment is that the tables felt sticky.

I've never been to Oakley, but a dog meetup brought me to the area! My companion, Dad, and I came to the area with my pup. My Dad recommended we try Bistro Punahele Tonnelier due to it being dog-friendly and offering Hawaiian fare. Since we had my puppy, we sat outside. I can't speak for the ambiance inside but outside was super casual and rustic. The furniture was a bit dirty outside (ants crawling), but the staff wiped it before we sat--we just had to monitor the ants. Service by staff was great. We were notified that there was only one server so things would be slow but our lovely server was phenomenal. They gushed over my puppy, provided water and snacks for her, and took care of us checking in regularly. The bistro serves typical American breakfast and lunch with a Hawaiian and French influence. When it comes to Hawaiian food on the mainland, I don't play around. Having lived there, I do have high expectations. For my meal, I had the House Signature Omelette, Smoked Salmon with Spinach and Onions. For my side, I had the potatoes. The omelet was generously packed with spinach, a filling portion, but lacking a bit of seasoning. The potatoes were superb--crispy and creamy. Companion had the Fried Portuguese Sausage and Spam omelet. I had a bite and thought it was okay--just meat and egg nothing else. Flavors weren't truly there. My Dad had the Aloha Tower which was a sight in itself--meat and carb forward galore. He said it was delicious. Though I never come to Oakley, I'm glad we had a pleasant meal. I say this restaurant is worth trying if you live in the area for the unique offerings, but not one I'd go back to especially for the Hawaiian food. The wooden bistro is right off Main St. with lots of parking out front.

First time visiting for breakfast. Finally after all these years! I was super excited! Looks bigger on outside than actually inside. Tables are really close together and I personally didn't feel like I had my own personal space. Like when my neighboring table mate got up to leave her butt pretty much rode down the side of our table. Definitely could not walk straight out... even walking sideways was too close The bench seats along the wall are uncomfortable, I had to switch seats with hubby. The food was aiiight. I ordered the egg Benedict. It wasn't the one thats on the website menu. This one had the English muffins, sautéed spinach, poached eggs, caramelized onions, bacon and French hollandaise with smoked paprika. It was meh. Just meh. It looked messy when presented. The English muffins were soggy AF from the sautéed spinach. Then layered with 4 thick bacon slices then the poached eggs with hollandaise & a sprinkle of paprika. The 2 csmall tablespoon size dollops of caramelized onions were on my potatoes. Not on the Benedict at all. I could have gotten a better Benedict down the street. I was disappointed for sure, no Aloha there. Hubby ordered the Aloha Tower... he liked it. Aloha for him. Service was fast & friendly. Coffee was BLACK! They do offer honey to sweeten it up a bit. All in all, I'd go back to try one of their burgers.

So good!! I love coming here when they are open and the food is always good no matter what you get!! The owners are very sweet and chit chat with the table when they can!! only complaint is that they aren't open very much just the weekends in the morning.

Ok, so I found this place on a fluke. But I'm happy I did!! So I didn't know what to expect because I've never really eaten Hawaiian themed food. But upon arriving you had to wait outside and write you name on a list! It was kinda cold that day so this method sucked! But that being said once we got inside the overall service was great. I went with the Loco Moco fries, my daughter went with the chimichura steak minus any kind of sauce! And my wife got the same thing with all the sauce. Plus we tried the French Toast. All the food was really good. The Loco Moco was really good! I'm skeptical of eating gravy but I must say this meal was really good. The burger patty was really good. Overall I really enjoyed this restaurant and I will come again! I'm so sorry for the photos I remembered I needed to take them half way through!

Came here on a whim Saturday morning around brunch time and glad I did. We wrote our name down and waited maybe 15-20 minutes before being called for our table of two. We thought we'd have the option of sitting outside but instead we were brought directly inside and sat at the small table by the window; unfortunately our view to outside was a little blocked by the baby seats stacked outside lol but otherwise the natural lighting was beautiful at that time of day. The inside is much smaller than I expected but the ambience is so wonderful! It felt cozy and intimate inside and we absolutely loved all the decor. Our orders were promptly taken by our server, he had curly hair and a septum piercing, really nice dude. I ordered the smoked salmon eggs Benedict and a mimosa and my bf ordered the tri tip sandwich and a beer. We both thoroughly enjoyed our meals and agreed on coming back. Wait time was reasonable, vibes were on, food and drink were delicious, and service was great. I can't wait to come back and try their other menu items - I was so excited when I saw they had spam on the menu lol. Definitely recommend coming here :)

Great Burger the flavors were outstanding. It didn't have mayonnaise or mustard no lettuce no pickles no tomatoes. They didn't need it and the salad was fabulous. My wife said service was great. Kept checking back with us making sure we're doing OK. Ambience was very good.

Yes to it all! I loved my experience here. Get here when they open. They are popular and have a waiting list for a reason. Mimosas are delicious. The service is friendly (shout out to our server who gave us edible glitter in our mimosas! Made our day). The food is instagrammable and fulfilling to every desire. Potatoes are crispy and soft. The decor and overall vibe is welcoming. Many ceiling fans to cool you down during hot summer visits. Clean bathroom. Single stall. Located just outside the restaurant. You'll see it on your stroll in. Street parking. This is the full package. Go try it.

Finally had the opportunity to try Punahele, and I'm so glad I did! The service was above and beyond! The food was absolutely delicious. I had the Eggs Benedict with French Hollandaise, as well as the Coconut Fried Rice. Generous portions, bacon was perfectly cooked, as were the eggs, and hollandaise. (I was only able to eat about a third of the meal, but it made for a fantastic dinner that night!) I highly recommend!!

!!! Amazing experience !!!! We went for breakfast last weekend it's a small place but amazing food & excellent service. Vibe is very cool.... We had to write our names on the waitlist it was not bad at all we hardly waited for 10 mins... parking is very limited but still there is public parking on the street. It's a very small downtown area. We loved all our dishes & enjoyed the half sampler mimosas. It was fun tasting various juices with our champagne. Will definitely be back for trying other dishes... we both are remembering those potatoes... OMG !!!! They were awesome!!!!! Prices are very reasonable with generous portions... we had plenty leftovers.

Ask the Community - Bistro Punahele Tonnelier

Are pets allowed for outdoor dining?

Yes, they have an outdoor patio where you can bring your pooch.

Hi, can management pls reach out to me asap?

Is this place currently open? It sure looks like a mystery? The hours on the website are different from the hours posted on the door. And if you go to the storefront, it looks like it's been closed for quite a while So what's the deal?

They are only opened Friday-Sunday 10-2pm

    Is this place dog friendly?

If you get outdoor service on the patio otherwise no

Is it ever open? I've tried to go 3 separate times now and it's been closed every time ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

They are only open three days a week. Friday,, Saturday and Sunday. On Friday it was open on 10. Not sure on weekends think 10 or 11?

I saw a post from 4 days ago from the business owner that they were open Monday thru Friday 10am-2pm? Is this wrong. I've been here several times now and they've been closed? *okay, so it's Monday Thursday Friday then. Owner response said "Thru" Thx!

That is correct three days a week only at this time

Do they offer bottomless mimosas? If so what day?

I went in on a Monday and they informed me of the bottomless mimosas that day!

Do they serve breakfast & brunch all day?

Not that I know but I would call just in case. Make a reservation if you go. The place is tiny and when I went it was packed

Do they take large groups, would like to try this place for my birthday?

It's a really small place with most tables being 2-4 tops.

No scoop mac salad for the loco moco? Also how much for extra gravy all over and extra scoop rice?

No Mac salad with the loco moco. Not sure on the extra gravy. The rice is $2 as a side order

    Do you have haupia?

Yes they did last time I went

    Any Gluten Free options?

Yes there are several they said on the menu were gluten-free.

Can I order something to go, a la carte?

    Yes you can!

Do they do to go orders?

Yes I ordered to go once

    Is it kid appropriate?

Don't see why not, it's a very casual restaurant.

Is there anything vegetarian or vegan on the menu?

Yes, you can order vegetarian omelets and they have crepes and pancakes. See their menu at www.oakleybistro.com

As a huge fan of French cuisine, I'd been following RÊVE for years and decided to book a table for the graduation dinner. I made a reservation about three months in advance just to be safe, since the restaurant only has about eight indoor tables. The restaurant was tucked away in a nondescript strip mall, but upon entering through the side gate, I felt like I was stepping into a Parisian neighborhood bistro. Our friendly waitress walked us through the menu and seasonal specials and even pointed out the can't-miss dishes. Thank goodness we followed her advice - the frites were among the best I've ever tasted! We debated ordering another cone of frites but decided to pace ourselves because we also ordered the gougères, RÊVE salad, and escargot to share. Additionally, we received complimentary fresh baguette and butter. For my main dish, I decided to try the quenelle, which can be described as a soft dumpling made from seafood purée that resembles a velvety soufflé. Every bite had a rich seafood flavor that, even now, I can't stop thinking about. Even though we were quite full after dinner, we were tempted by the dessert menu and decided to split the chocolate mousse and French opera cake. Both desserts were exquisite - they were small portions but packed a lot of richness without being overly sweet. Our dinner was made extra special by the restaurant staff, who remembered that we were celebrating a graduation and signed a card for us. From the team going above and beyond to the excellent meal, this was one of the best meals I've had this year. I'm already looking forward to my next visit.

As for the food, it was a bit of a mixed experience. The salad was fairly basic and didn't leave much of an impression. The dessert was a bit underwhelming and didn't quite end the meal on a high note. On a future visit, I would likely opt for a different dessert. However, when we arrived, the restaurant was surprisingly empty, and we anticipated a quiet, relaxed evening. We started with the half oysters and salmon tartare, and for our entrées, I had the lamb chops while my boyfriend ordered the duck confit. For drinks, he had sweet iced tea and I had Tito's with soda. The food was excellent--flavorful, well-prepared, and generously portioned. That said, I'm giving three stars primarily due to the service and ambiance. Our server (whose name I unfortunately forgot) was very friendly but not attentive, especially considering how slow the restaurant was. He didn't check on us after delivering our meals, and my boyfriend had to request a refill on his iced tea. Additionally, the bartender was loudly sharing what sounded like personal stories with another guest, to the point where it disrupted the atmosphere. We could barely hear ourselves talk. When dining out--especially for a special occasion--we were hoping for a more peaceful environment where we could enjoy a quiet conversation. While the décor is elegant and inviting, the overall experience didn't quite match the setting. I would return for the food alone, but I hope improvements are made in service and ambiance. Also, given how slow the evening was, the food took longer than expected to come out.

Chef Hassan created a customized menu for our group, and every dish was beautifully prepared. I ordered the Beef Wellington, well, because there was absolutely no reason not to when that's on the menu! HA! It was incredible. The flaky dough wrapped around that filet mignon, ooh, amazing. It sat on creamy potatoes and veggies of some sort (it's been a minute, I can't recall the exact option). The private room was nicely lit, there were some candles and flowers across the table as well as wall decor. The server and busser took a little to get things rolling, but eventually things were moving along. We also had a few children in our party, and the staff was wonderful accommodating, which made the evening even more enjoyable. We were so impressed that we came back a second time - just my lady, my 6-month-old daughter, and myself - and it was on a busy Saturday night when you typically need reservations. According to Anthony Bourdain, "A bouchon is a uniquely Lyonnaise institution, a casual, laid-back kind of a pub/bistro with a limited, usually old-school menu and always, always an unpretentious vibe. People come here to unwind, to relax, and to eat with abandon." Bouchon is chef Thomas Keller's (The French Laundry) heartfelt homage to the traditional French bistro in Napa Valley's charming 1.5 square mile town of Yountville. Located across the street from V Marketplace on Washington Street, we easily found free parking in the lot adjacent to the market. The restaurant is housed in a cozy red building that sits right next door to its sibling bakery. Decorated with whites, reds and marble tones, the velvet banquette seating and polished brass accents pop out through the wood furnishings and mosaic floor design. Upon entry, we were warmly greeted and promptly seated. The place was buzzing with almost every table occupied in the tightly-seated dining room. The seasons dictate what's on offer at Bouchon. The menu features a variety of traditional French dishes that perfectly highlight the essence of bistro dining. Upon seating, we were served a complimentary ramekin of pistachios alongside some butter and pain d'épi, the classic "stalk of wheat" variation on the classic baguette. Below are what we ordered: Escargots de Bourgogne ($19.75) - Six Burgundy snails cooked in parsley-garlic butter, each topped with Bouchon Bakery's puff pastry, were all absolute perfection, as expected. Soupe à l'Oignon ($19.75) - A true test of a French bistro is its French onion soup, and Bouchon's comforting, piping hot bowl of caramelized sweet onions, savoury beef jus, topped with country bread and melted Comté cheese, did not disappoint. Served in a proper vessel? Yes. Baked with a toasted baguette slice and ooey, gooey cheese topper? Check. The flavour of the soup base was also richly robust. I couldn't decide between the Saumon Poêlé ($38.00) and the Steak Frites ($47.50). Since our waiter said that I could have a side of the sauce au poivre from the Poitrine de Boeuf au Poivre ($45.00) with the Steak Frites, I had to go this route as it's one of my favourites. No regrets at all on my choice; I savoured every bite of the delicious pan-seared prime flat iron steak topped with maitre d'hôtel butter and side of crispy French fries. The additional sauce au poivre was the cherry on top. Steak Frites truly is the quintessential bistro entrée and Bouchon's was excellent. Service was great. As a sweet birthday gift, Mom was given a pack of chocolate brownies, served on a plate alongside a lit candle to blow and make a wish. Dinner was remarkable. I'm not surprised that Mom chose to return here for her birthday dinner. I loved Bouchon so much that it's now my favourite restaurant in Napa Valley. Yes, I was able to decide this from my first visit. I most definitely will return. It's a must!

We hadn't been to Papillon in several years and decided to go for our Christmas dinner this past…read moreDecember. Our party of 4 really enjoyed the food (particularly the calamari, duck, and ribeye), drinks, and service. The vibe was on the upscale side but not stuffy, a bit format but still warm. We also like that there were pockets for more private dining. So when it came time to have a small gathering for a group of 10, Papillon came to mind. Papillon's service was excellent - from the time of my reservations to the end of our evening. We requested a private room and boy were we impressed when we got to the venue! Without going into too much detail, because there's so much I can write about, let me just say that if you are looking for a place that is easy to get to, has ample parking, nostalgic and warm ambiance, friendly and professional service, classic and signature drink menu, and balanced food offering that are as well-plated as they are tasty, Papillon is the place! Special shoutout to Shawna (spelling?), our host, who took good care of our dining experience

This is not my first time coming here so I was excited about the promotion. I am never disappointed about the food and service when I come here. The wait staff are always attentive and accommodating. I requested my bread to be hot and they were able to do it for me. The food was delicious as always and cooked perfectly. The only drawback is that the restaurant looks outdated. The carpet is worn and I can smell cleaner they used. Overall, it's a place worth coming back again since the food is delicious and the staff is very friendly. The owner even came to the table and offered us a drink on the house.

Love that their menu is constantly changing as they outsource all their ingredients from local vendors in the area. So it's nice they offer different selections each time. Although, I would love to have their ribeye entree available all the time. This time around, we order the Stracciatella Cheese for starters and my husband ordered the fresh catch of the day which was scallops over risotto and I ordered the hanger steak. I also ordered the Margarita Fuego cocktail and that was so refreshing. I personally loved the stracciatella cheese. It had sugar snap peas, strawberries, basil, pickled ginger, balsamic, evoo with toasted bread. You think the ingredients would be weird together but it really blended well and tasted so good. As for my Hanger Steak, everything tasted delicious. Overall, we really enjoyed our meal and will definitely come back.

Great service, but the execution completely missed the mark. Won't be back…read more The service here was actually really good--the staff was attentive and friendly. Unfortunately, the bar and the kitchen just didn't deliver. My Gin & Tonic was a hazard; it was so completely overloaded with peppercorns that I felt like I was chewing my drink and had to spit them out after every sip. For food, the corn elote lacked balance, and the scallops--which arrived swimming in a soup instead of a puree--tasted noticeably off. The chicken parm was entirely forgettable. With these kinds of texture and flavor issues, there's just no attention to detail in the kitchen. Even with great service, we won't be returning.

You ever go somewhere for dessert and wish you could have "second dinner" too? This just happened…read more After dinner and a walk through beautiful Yountville, my friends and I felt we deserved a little something sweet - and Bistro Jeanty was all too eager to help! The biggest lie we were told was that the desserts were "shareable" because after one bite, I had no desire to "share" my profiteroles and I had every desire to commandeer my friend's chocolate croissant bread pudding. The profiteroles... the pastry was light and flaky. Perfection. The ice cream had a distinct fresh vanilla bean flavor which just begged for the chocolate ganache. Beautifully plated and served with a coffee I was in heaven. ...and then I had a bite of the bread pudding... Why I had never thought to use chocolate croissants for a bread pudding I will never know... because this was amazing. Easily the best bread pudding I have ever had and now one of my favorite ways to eat a chocolate croissant. The richness of both the butter and the chocolate was almost too much for a single person to handle - but I'm sure my friend and I would have been willing to try. I just wish I had a picture of the bread pudding to show you...

We were able to get seated for our party of ten without a reservation. We shared the soupe a l'Oignon ($18) and the boeuf bourguignon ($46). The onion soup was standard with a layer of cheese on top and some bread inside. The beef bourgignon was soft and I liked the addition and saltiness of the lardon. It felt like home cooking and comfort food, and it didn't give off any unpretentiousness that you might expect from a French restaurant. In fact, our server was very welcoming and friendly.
