I just recently moved to middleburg, and I wanted to get a pedicure. I picked this place because it's close to my house. I got the top line pedicure, paid $60 because I wanted the works. I got to soak my feet for all of 30 seconds before he started. He used the nail rotary tool on my toes, and that's it. Didn't clip my nails, didn't try to get any dead skin from around my nails. He used the little exfoliating block on my heels, swiped all of 4 times. That's all the exfoliating that my feet got... and I DESPERATELY needed it. Everything after this was mostly ok. The last thing they did was paraffin bags on my feet. He got the wax EVERYWHERE. I was finding bits of it on the back of my legs HOURS after my pedicure. Once he dried my feet off, he got up with his tools and walked into the back. Didn't come back out until one of his coworkers called for him to work on someone else. I didn't even realize he was done! Didn't say a damn thing to me. I had a friend come with me. Her nail tech cut her toe with the rotary tool. They didn't listen to what she was asking for with her nails. They kept pushing acrylics on her, but she just wanted gel on her toes and fingers. She brought her daughter, who is 10. She asked for gel on her fingers. They didn't do gel. Both of them had polish missing from their nails within 30 mins of leaving the salon. They didn't even want to try to go back to fix it, because of the experience. TLDR; find somewhere else to go. read more

Very unfortunate visit. I got there and there was only one other customer when I checked in. Shortly after, 4-5 more come in. One of the customers had an app. After sitting in the front for 30 minutes, one of the men working there had me go back to a work station to pick a color. 45 minutes later, I'm still sitting there 3-4 people that came in after me were getting their service before me. They were getting a similar service, and this does not include one with the appointment. After they were brining the next person back, I got up and left. When I was getting up the lady said I was next after she was sitting another customer down at the work station that just left. During that time, the man working there asked everyone if they wanted a drink except for me. It seems everyone else was made to feel welcome except for me. I just left in tears as a mom who was finally able to fine time to do something for myself. I don't think I will ever go back there when I was just ignored. read more

I've tried this salon a few times now and I can say I will never go back. The customer service is horrible. They seem to forget we are paying for services and treat us like we owe them. They are rude to their own employees right in front of customers. I did address the customer service and the woman got very friendly after that, and made excuses. read more

I mean like ten shades off. they don't want you speaking a word to try and voice anything. then yell over you. and still charge you. insane. I'll never be back and I'm contacting my bank. At 63 years of age, when I tell you that THIS was the BEST pedicure of my LIFE - you need to pay attention!!! We just moved to Middleburg from Ft. Lauderdale, and I was in dire need of a pedicure (definitely polished toes, but moreso I needed the massage due to the stress of moving and the aches and pains that go with that). Holy WOW! Mike was my nail tech and he has MAGIC hands!! I opted for the $45 pedicure, which included extra massage plus hot stone massage, clay masque, hot towels and more - and, as I said, it was ABSOLUTELY the best pedicure I have ever had! Part of me doesn't want to let this secret gem out to the public - but the better part of me wants these folks to succeed!!! I have found my "forever" nail salon and will be back often! read more

i would not recommend going here.. i went in to get a fill in and the lady was taking my nails off hurting me so bad i was almost in tears as she says "ik this is hurting u i see ur face" and just giggles abt it and goes on. i told her i would rather her just paint my regular nails bc my nail beds are very sensitive and she just hurt my nails. she cut my natural nail in half and made it bleed, cut my skin, didn't put clear polish over the whole nail, got the polish all over my skin and didn't remove it, filed my nails all the way down shorter than i asked.. my clear coat is also changing colors..DONT GO HERE!! read more

I absolutely love this salon. I drive from Starke to Middleburg to get my nails done at MIMIS. Me & my sister have been making it a girls day regular for awhile now. They give the best pedicure out of anywhere I've ever been. And my favorite thing about mimis is they don't cut or nick my cuticle or skin, or burn me when using the drill... every other place I've ever been would end in me leaving with sore fingers. Not here! The staff is so friendly & good natured. On my last trip in I watched them give a pedicure to a person with an intellectual disability. The kindness and patience they showed was very nice to see. That being said they are a little higher priced than most salons. My mani & pedi (gel on both) runs me around 95$ For me it's worth the extra 20 or 30$ to not be cut. Very happy with Mimis & will continue to return. read more

Last week I had a gel fill here for the 2nd time due to my regular nail tech being unavailable. Should not have given them a second chance. Just like the first time, the nails were all different lengths and shapes, and the polish was applied terribly- sloppy with spots missed and polish on my skin and the back of the nails. When I lifted my hand to look at a spot that was missed, the lady caught an attitude with me. She popped off SOME of my existing tips but did not replace them, so I have some acrylic tips and some regular nails. All different lengths and shapes and painted terribly. She was also extremely rough and kept getting frustrated when I flinched- well, that's what people do when you're hurting them! I've been getting my nails done for 20 years and never had someone so rough. Left with mismatched nails and bleeding cuticles. Giving them a second chance was a mistake. read more

I've been here several times for the last year and this is the only salon I will go to. I'm really surprised by the bad reviews but most of them are from years ago so they must have taken the feedback seriously. They do great work and have fantastic service. They offer you a drink and keep the atmosphere relaxing (as much as possible in a busy atmosphere anyway). Nobody is pushy with "upgrades" and there are no surprises on price at the end. I told them to take my nails off after I did them for 2 months straight and my real nails under earth was so long they started talking shit for no reason. Kept getting mad that I just wanted my nails off instead of redoing it. It's $10 to take off and I tipped him $5. Next time stop talking about ppl cause it could've been $20 you never know why people want the nails off and if you work off of tips or something then just chill cause you could or couldn't get tipped and I tipped yet you told me before I left "you feel better?" I picked my pedicure type (and no one was pushy, which is RARE and at a nail salon). The woman giving my pedicure was wonderful. Friendly enough that it wasn't awkward, but not too chatty. I always get almond shaped nails, which all salons do for free. But not Mimi's!!! They charged me $5 extra without even telling me. I have came here several times over the past 3 years. I have had some great service, some that wasn't, but this evening it was absolutely horrible & I won't be coming back. I was charged $110 for two $35 pedicures. I asked that we be upgraded to gel which they said $5 more each. (So now we're up to $80 for services.) The staff was super loud over the TV joking with each other, grab@ssing around. They got both of the shades of polish we picked wrong (even with their polish choices being numbered), treating me & my daughter like an inconvenience. When we were done I went to pay. The lady at the register said the total was way more than I was expecting. I tried to ask my technician but he motioned me to hold on, said he would be right back but didn't come back to the front. After several awkward minutes, I just paid it & left. I've been to this nail salon a few times as my daughter gets her nails done by Jennifer who is very sweet and does her job well! However the last two times they have up charged us ridiculously - today my experience was fine until Mimi decided to take the polish off my toes while sitting in the nail chair telling me that there was gel polish on them I told her it was not gel cause I have never gotten gel on my toes she proceeded to take the polish off with the drill and then put cotton with nail polish remover and foil over them - I went and sat in pedicure chair and she told Jennifer who was doing my basic pedi to do gel nail polish I told her I wanted regular nail polish she kept insisting I do the gel so instead of arguing I just sat back when I finished I told Jennifer I felt it wasn't her fault and this was the second time of being misled and up-charged So now they lost 2 customers my husband and I will never go back - I'd rather pay more to get what I want and not be ripped off!!!! read more

This salon comes recommended from family who live in the area. Having just relocated here a few months ago, I adopted Mimi's as my new nail salon on their recommendation. I've been here probably 5 times and each time I swear it will be the last.....but I keep coming for convenience. This is officially my last time! Seriously this time!!! The employees are nice enough. But it is very difficult to communicate with a lot of the staff. As a result, I rarely end up with what I've asked for. For example: today I asked for a mani + pedi (and wrote it on their sheet). I had a relaxing pedicure - but instead of then taking me for a mani, my technician started FaceTiming with his family abroad. The paint job (French) is just ok. Not in my top 100 French paint jobs and in fact, more like my in my bottom 20 all time. I brought my 9 y/o niece today and after an exhaustive discussion with her about why she can't get gel nails before coming in, we then had another technician pressuring us into it....after I clearly said no three times. Talk about awkward having the discussion AGAIN as to why it's not appropriate for a 9 y/o to get gel nails. I keep seeing nail salons all over the place and I'm finally going to try one of them out. Hopefully I can understand and be understood at another place and have a more overall relaxing experience. read more

I walked in and an English speaking (non-Asian) woman greeted me and asked me what service I needed. I stated that I needed pink and white fills. She quoted me $20 and told me to write my name on the waiting list. About 4 people walked in behind me and answered the same question. They were all asked to sit down and wait. Then 2 employees who didn't speak English were looking at all of us and discussing amongst themselves with a look of confusion. They proceed to overlook their own means of organization (the waiting list with names on it) and started to attempt to disperse us to different ares. (pedis, manis, etc) and totally overlooking me (who was first in line). They must have read my facial expression and after 20 minutes directed me to sit in a seat in the back. I proceed to sit. One women sits in front of me and as I place my hands in front of her she says something and walks off. Then another woman (who looks like a maid) sits down and removes nail polish off one nail before telling me that no one is qualified to do pink n white fills. They upset me so bad that I won't even drive by there. This place lacks professionalism and customer service. read more

This is my second time at Mimi's. It will be my last. I did not have a problem with my nails this time. I didn't like the job last time. The acrylic was way too thin and pieces chipped off within days. This time though I was pleased, until the end that is. It is advertised at $15 for a fill. That's average in Middleburg. It's anywhere from $13-19. I went to pay and he said $18. I was confused bc I didn't have any nails that needed to be replaced. I questioned him and he said, "it's because you had to have your nails cut down". What? I told him that I had a fill two and a half weeks ago and he didn't have to cut anything. Actually I had cut down two of my nails already because I couldn't get some paint off them. He used the drill to shorten them like everybody does, every time. I like my nails short so if they weren't trimmed down they would be super long! My problem isn't the price, it's the bait and switch. Advertise $15, charge $18. He told me if I was a regular customer they wouldn't charge me to cut them down. That doesn't even make sense to me. A fill isn't only a fill. It's trimming your nails back to what you started with. If they did a full set would I have to pay for the long tips to be cut down? There are too many nail salons around town not to be happy. Besides the vents in there must not work very well because it smells so strong!! read more

So I was really upset in my experience at this nail salon. My sister and I walked in to get a pedicure before we had to pick up our niece from school, so we off the bat said we needed to be out of there in 45 min and they said sure no problem. So we sit down and get started, well my lady was trying to get the previous polish off my toe and ended up slicing my toe and she was like oh sorry, and I'm thinking ma'am if I get an infection it's not going to be good because I'm 9 months pregnant. Then the lady doing my sisters toes scraped her toe in two places with the nail file and my sister informed her and she was like oh sorry. Well when we got to the register to pay my lady said it would be $45 and I was like what is yalls gel price and she said $20. I was surprised cuz literally everywhere I have been it's $15 extra. But whatever... She asked where I usually go and I told her the place and she said oh well Fleming island is cheaper, uhmmm no ma'am Middleburg is mostly always cheaper than Fleming island. (Good try at an excuse tho!) I was more surprised at the fact that she did not give me any sort of discount for slicing my toe open and it bleed for 5 min straight. This place needs a good cleaning. I should have turned around and left when I saw all the nail polish jumbled together with no arrangement of color. The door was propped open and the wind was blowing thru the shop. Everything had dust on it. I witnessed one man cleaning scissors and cuticle instruments with a dry washcloth. I had a pedicure and then a manicure. While I was getting my manicure a bug crawled up on my toe and it dried in the polish. A lovely look. I had to pick dead bug off of my toe. read more
