I get dip manicures and I've never had an issue with them not lasting (typically my issue is that they are on there so good that I have to go get them professionally taken off when they are over grown). To call my experience here mediocre would be giving it too high of a praise. I was looking for some much needed love for my overworked and long-since tended to toes and went for a signature pedicure ($55 for exfoliation and two different moisturizing treatments in addition to standard pedicure nail cleanup and polish.) Unlike the other patrons, I wasn't offered a beverage with my service (they boast a pretty full menu of wine/beer/mimosa/soda options). Color selection is vast but mostly within the same palette range (and I wanted something bright and fun for summer, something they didn't have much of), so I went for an old OPI favorite. The layout of this place is large, beautiful and very clean, with lots of scent options for the exfoliation gel (though I was never given a choice in which scent I wanted, even though it seemed like they had set it up so you should be able to choose your scent.) I had a younger dude as my nail tech. I asked for my nails to be cut short, but then had to repeatedly ask for him to cut them shorter, as he did not seem to understand what cutting nails short meant. His use of the tool to pull at stray skin was brutal, and my feet were left stinging in pain. I was a little shocked I didn't bleed. The massage was so light, I wondered if he was even attempting to put any pressure. He didn't really allow any of the moisturizing treatments to be worked in but rather put them on my legs then promptly washed them off. He cut my nails unevenly and it became really obvious when he put nail polish on, how uneven they looked. Sloppy polish job with nail polish oozing to the corner of my nails and on my toes afterwards. I asked someone else to help me put on my shoes after the drying time and he was at least, wonderful. I don't know if my subpar experience was due to a dud of a nail tech - I really wanted to like this place. But alas, I do not think I will be returning. read more

I went in for a full acrylic set with nail art. An older gentleman did them. While the construction and application was fine, I wanted a clear base colored acrylic and traditional polish. He kept trying to force me to get pink acrylic (upcharge) and gel polish (upcharge) I refused. He was mad. He also stated he didn't feel confident giving me nail art and a younger lady ended up doing that and she was just ok with her nail art skills. They don't offer apres nails here (my preference). I also got a pedicure and one of the older ladies did it. She did a great job. I would go back, only for a pedicure though, not nail services. read more

I recently moved and needed to find my new go-to nail spot. Came in for a dip manicure and regular pedicure. Nearly walked out after the pedicure without even letting them touch my hands. I do t know her name, but my pedicure lady was just awful. Rude, rough, and didn't listen to my requests. Luckily for me, after I realized I would have someone else doing my manicure, I decided to let them try. And because of that... I found my person. Tyler is the man! He is so kind, personable, fun to talk to, and he killed it on my nails. Even gave me ideas for next time that 'aren't on the menu' he can do for me. It's been four years in the making, but I finally found a nail salon I will continue to visit. Love this place and don't mind the 20 minute drive to visit. Mimosa offers a wide range of services at reasonable prices in a very comfortable atmosphere. Their hospitality is on point with friendly staff and multiple beverage options to enjoy during your service. I also appreciate the bar style seating for hand services. To me this setup is more comfortable then trying to lean forward over a shared table. I highly recommend the starry night pedicure that comes with extra massage time. It's delightful! Definitely would not recommend. I came in town to visit my friend and she just found this place because it was close and she loves the sushi place next door. First, no one speaks English so it was like pulling teeth to get anyone to understand you. Second, the actual pedicure was horrible. I'm actually back home now getting another pedicure. My go to mani/pedi place! The staff is friendly and they have remembered me which I really like. I go out of my way to go here because my dip lasts a long time as well as my pedicure. This location is nestled in the back of a shopping center where's there a grass area where there's corn hole and looks like a concert series might be happening tonight. It's a new location and I love the massage chair. Everything is clean and I really like the orange blossom sugar scrub. I usually do dip for my manicure and regular pedicure. I could forgive them for drilling into my skin accidentally, but the shady business practices to get money from clients and bypass compliance regulations is concerning. Went in for a mani/pedi. Super expensive prices. Beyond anything I've seen in the area. Mani was ok. Nothing to write home about and the tech didn't actually do a manicure when I said I wanted dip. The pedi was painful and I was distracted, with a huge pillow in my lap so the tech could do my mani, and so didn't really look down to my toes. (I was also really, really tired and trying to work while also getting this done) He put my shoes on really fast. It was only when I got home that I realized they were HOT PINK, not the light color I'd chosen. In addition, it was sloppily done. He hadn't tended my feet. It was bad. (Granted, my own fault for not looking more in depth when I left. But who thinks they need to review a pedicure every time you get one to ensure color accuracy?) When I called to complain, they asked for pictures confirmation and said they didn't do refunds but would redo the color. I had to go back--I'm in a wedding wearing purple and hot pink toes won't cut it--the girl literally was surprised when she looked at my feet, realizing the whole process pedicure needed to be done again. She was sweet, and I'm grateful I won't look horrible for the wedding I'm in. But seriously. $150, everyone, for this experience. Fighting traffic to come back and have something redone when I've already got a crazy busy life and work schedule, on top of being in a wedding. Run. Run far away. The instagrammable posts aren't worth the pain. (Also, no one even offered me a water when I came back. They typically will give you a glass of wine or mimosa. So, that's about how welcome I was. In my never-ending quest in trying to find a nail salon that knows how to do nails (after a series of frustrating experiences from a salon I'd been going to for several years), I decided to try Mimosa Nail Bar, especially after reading all the positive reviews. At first impression, the salon was clean, the staff was friendly, and the nail color options and selections are vast. That is where my positive experience ends. When I called to make my 1st appointment, I explained that I wanted to schedule with a nail tech who be able to understand my specific requests on how I like my nails shaped, the look I was going for, etc. When I arrived at the salon, I was pair with an older man whose hands kept shaking while he did my pedi and my dip. He was a pleasant individual, but he didn't listen to what I had constantly tried to convey re: my nails. When I got home after my appointment, I had multiple cuts to both of my big toes from the pedi, and every single fingernail had a different shape and were completely misshapen all-together. 3 of my nails chipped/broke at the corners as well. I called the salon, explained my frustration & disappointment, and asked if it was possible to come in to have the dip service fixed (to at least try to make my nails look even/consistent). They were nice enough to schedule me that evening, and I requested another nail tech. The owner met me when I got to the salon - she kept asking me why I didn't bring up the issues with the tech the day before I did let her know I kept bringing it up, but the tech either wasn't understanding me, or wasn't interested in what I wanted. I was then told they would either fix at no charge, or I could get them completely redone but have to pay full price for the service. I opted for just fixing them. The nail tech who did the "repair" was nice, but she also didn't completely fix the issue. When I left, 1/2 of my nails looked relatively the same, but almost all of them were filed very crooked. One side of all my nails were over-filed, the dip powder wasn't filed down smoothly near the cuticle (3 nails have lifted), 2 cut 3 of my fingers while using an Emory board (I jerked my hands away every time she cut my hand, but she did not adjust her filing methods), and another nail has chipped. Every time I've looked at my hands over the past week or so since I went to this salon, I get frustrated and upset at how awful my nails look. To spend that much for such horrible results is incredibly frustrating. I was trying to decide whether I should call the salon back, but at this point I'm not sure I'd ever get my nails to look the way I prefer with this salon. I'm sure they do great work for a lot of others, but it didn't work out for me. I won't be returning, and will keep trying to find the right salon for me. read more
