Today I visited Shira's nails for the first time since I was in town for the weekend. I was a little hesitant based on the reviews but I was only getting a gel manicure with no enhancements so I thought why not since it was close to my hotel. I was quickly greeted and seated upon arrival without an appointment. Travis started taking off my previous gel and was friendly. He cleaned up my cuticles but could've done a better job at removing all of my previous gel polish. He started applying the new polish and things were going well until he began applying the second coat. He seemed to struggle with avoiding polish around my cuticles and had to constantly remove that off. Some of the other nail techs noticed he was having a hard time, and eventually just took over. It caught me off guard and I asked "Is everything ok?". I wasn't expecting to have 3 other people surrounding me during my service which didn't cause for a relaxing experience. I felt bad for Travis because he was trying his best. I was grateful for his constant effort in wanting to make sure I was satisfied. Do not recommend. Got the deluxe pedicure with gel polish paid 85.00 plus 10.00 tip. I got this done on a Saturday within a few days one top was chipped. Walk in has always been super easy. We booked manicures here online once and by phone another time but the service was really good. Love the Egyptian theme of the salon and the cosmetologists are really great. It's always busy when we go in and it's in a great area. I had an inspo pic of ombré nails for my upcoming wedding and he made my nails look even better than the inspiration picture! I've come here a couple times since moving to Nashville. They are fast and thorough but I wanted to warn everyone about the chrome. I got dip + chrome and it was $90 for a very streaky job. It was also supposed to be a light pink base (I went off one of their plastic nail examples) and it came out beige. Very overpriced for what the outcome was. I would not get the chrome again here. Overall, their dip manicures are great though, it's even and they grow out nicely around the cuticles. read more

I booked a gel manicure with Bi and look how cute my nails turned out! Bi is very nice and gentle with her tools. I showed her a photo of what I was looking to do and she helped with color and glitter suggestions. She used builder gel so it was a bit more expensive than a regular gel manicure, but I think this will last a very long time. The staff were very nice! I didn't ask for gel and the max advertised price for non gel acrylic is $60.. that's what I was expecting to pay. Idk how they can rationalize $25 for regular powder??? Doesn't make any sense nor did they inform me of the price until it was time to pay. They did give me $15 back after I had to go back and forth w them so I wound up paying $70. ZERO STARS. I went in for a simple gel manicure. My nails were semi-long and healthy. The manicurist wrapped them in acetone and foil to remove the gel polish and then applied a hot towel to my hands to "speed up" the removal process. When she went to remove the gel, the color had seeped into my nail beds, turning my nails pink, and my nails became PAPER THIN. Like tear them apart thin. I sat and waited for a bit to get a dip manicure. When I sat down, all the tools, dirty towel, and other items were still there from person before me. I thought she was going to clean up, but she went ahead to start my service without doing so. It was honestly pretty gross looking down at someone else's nail shavings, and dead skin all over the towel. I had to ask the nail technician to stop, and get a new towel for me. I ended up leaving because it felt unsanitary, and honestly made me wonder what else wasn't getting sanitized in between if they couldn't even switch out the towel. You definitely need to be using all new/clean items in between guests. (I posted a review earlier stating my experience, but the manager responded stating that I left when the nail technician was "getting a new towel." No, I left AFTER I personally asked the nail technician to get a new towel. She had already tried to start the service when I had to ask her to get a clean towel.
