I made an appointment here to get a mani/pedi at 9 am on a weekday. When I arrived they said that the person would be there soon to take care of me. When they got there they took another girl who was waiting before me but they seated me in a pedicure seat and I commenced to waiting. By 9:30 am I was still waiting in the pedicure seat. My pet peeve is when places take appointments then do not take you on-time. What is the point of an appointment if they do not honor the time at all? I started getting up to leave since I had things to go do and they all scrambled to start helping me. Although they apologized for the wait and still attempted to get me out in a timely manner I don't think I'd be back here. My friend and I started going to Wonder Nail after our old salon changed ownership. We tried several other nail salons in the area and didn't care for their service very much. Love this place. The owner, Kim, is so great and has made a huge difference in the health of my nail beds. She is funny too and very thorough. She really does a great job. I have gotten gel nails several times and they looked great and lasted a solid 2 weeks. But I mainly go in for pedicures. I started getting regular pedicures this year and Kim's work has seriously improved the health and look of my nails and my feet in general. It's amazing what a difference it makes! I always thought pedicures were superficial spa treatments for spendy folks but now I can see what a difference they make and they have become high priorities for me! We have squeezed them into our budget so I can go once a month. I love going to the same place every time to the same person who knows me and does a great job. I also love the location! Right in Brentwood next to Honeybaked and behind The Perch. I went in for dip nails and a gel pedi today. They were very nice and got me in very quickly, however; the quality of the service was sub-par. My dip is very uneven with lines and inconsistent with size throughout my nails. I also had to clean all this junk off of my nails when I got home. I will say my toes didn't look the greatest when coming in, but they didn't look great going out either. Would have appreciated a better job. I don't feel it was worth the $113 I paid today. Clearly people have had great experiences here, but for me that was not the case. Short story- a technician messed up, bad. Longer story- As an out of towner, I was paired with a woman who seemed to have very little experience or customer service skills. First, she started taking off my gel polish. She did this by soaking for just a few minutes and then scratching (I'm not joking) the polish off my nail with her fingernail. I asked her if there was another way to do that, as I'm accustomed to soaking my nail and then wrapping with a cotton ball and foil, but she said no. So, as she started scratching my cuticles, I asked if she could at least be more gentle. She laughed nervously. I showed her where she was damaging my nail beds (one was nearly bleeding from where she caught it with her nil) but ultimately I let it go. When the polish was off, she asked if I wanted to cut my nails. I said yes, but she didn't bring out the clippers- she filed them instead. The filing left some residue on my hands, so I asked if I could wash my hands. Because she had already started painting a base coat on the first two nails, she said no. I was really irritated at this point and said (rudely, I'll admit) "No?" She repeated no, at which point her coworker jumped in and tried to figure out what was going on. Ultimately, I offered to pay for taking the polish off but left to take my business elsewhere. I will say that the other techs seemed far more competent, which may have stemmed from the fact that they spoke more English. As a first gen American, lack of language proficiency itself does not turn me off- but competency is a must. I had high expectations after selecting this place based on Yelp reviews. Needless to say, expectations weren't met. read more

I'm not a customer but my 92 yr old client is, I took him there to get his toe nails cut. I've gone to many and have never been treated so rudely! The salon was empty and I sat next to my client to talk to him while a very nice young lady took care of him. At the same time another older lady with short black hair sat in a chair on her phone, I went to turn on the chair and she demanded that I can't use the chair? My daughter went in to get dip on her nails. The technician was extremely rough when preparing her nails causing her cuticles to bleed. Then after only one day, the edges starting popping up. I arrived a few minutes early and waited until almost 5:30 before leaving with no manicure or pedicure. She said she told to arrive late which is a total lie! I booked it the previous day and took what was available. When will nail salons learn that having an appt means others wait, not the one with the appt??? When this happens I never go back. I was visiting Brentwood from the Northeast. I pre- called because my gel manicure had gone beyond my average " redo" they said no appt necessary. Went in soon after. Waited a bit and finally given a technician. I asked to just have the gel removed and a manicure to hold me til I got home. The recent high school grad ( and I think owner's daughter) was cute, but whoa, what a ridiculously poor manicure. I took a pic to show my regular tech back home. I'm new to the area and need a new nail salon. I tried Wonder Nails and wanted to love it because the location is very convenient for me. Unfortunately, I will not be back. The gel polish selection is about 5% of the selections at most salons these days. The owner told me (twice) that she has over 200 bottles but no time to paint the little plastic nails for demonstration, so I was left with only a few color options. I found that disconcerting, but not a deal breaker. However, my nails are very crooked and the gel polish is already lifting after 24 hours. And my cuticles seem to somehow be in worse shape than they were before the manicure. Yikes. I may be commuting to my old salon for a while. read more
