First time trying this place out. Interior was dreary and dirty looking. I was sat right away with no appointment. The station looked very dirty, usually they open a new kit for you each time with brand new tools, but these tools looked dusty and paint smeared. No towel or cushion for my arms for manicure, just a paper towel on the table. I got my dip soaked off -- usually a place will have you soak in acetone for 20 minutes and it comes right off -- but this tech used cotton balls wrapped in aluminum foil, which left cotton residue on my nails even after she was finished with the whole manicure. Dip job was sloppy, nails uneven with file and she did not trim my cuticles even though it was supposed to be a manicure. Only pro was it was cheap. $40 dip! But, I will not be coming back. read more

It's a small nail salon that offers the typical services such as manicures, pedicures, and waxing but what sets this place apart for me is the sheer number of gel polish colors that they have available for you to choose from. I am gel/shellac on natural nail kind of girl so color options and the ability to properly shape my nails are important to me. Having been to my fair share of nail salons in this city, I don't believe that any other place can come close to the choices this place has from magnetic "Tiger's Eye" to flat and glittery "Mood Change" to Pastels to Glow-In-the-Dark to Metallics and plenty of colors and types in between (All Gel). While this isn't my go-to for a mani-pedi, they are my spot for quick gel color changes as my options are borderline endless. read more

With your service you get one complimentary cocktail and if you want more, it's an additional $3. I had one person do my toes and another that did my nails. They both did a great job, especially with the size of our bridal party they were able to service everyone in a timely manner. In short: I'm super picky & I LOVE my nails. I made a 4PM appointment for the Wednesday before Thanksgiving. Arrived a few minutes early & was seated around 4:10, no biggie. I got my SNS soaked off & a full set of acrylic with gel polish. Tyler worked between myself & another regular client of his so in total I was there for about 2 hours. On a normal day I would've been annoyed; but again - it was the day before Thanksgiving. He's definitely a perfectionist, which I can appreciate. I've been to 3 other nail salons in Nashville & no other has been able to achieve the perfect coffin shape - except Tyler. I definitely plan on returning regularly & asking for Tyler - especially since he looks out for his regular clientele. After my first visit during covid I was so excited to come back and give Tran another try. He absolutely perfected my shape last time, took his time, and was kind. The only reason for two stars instead of one is due to the enormous selection of colors to choose from. This is the place where you can get absolutely anything. This time I am very unsatisfied. Tran, the owner, did my nails again. Firstly, me and my friend did arrive for our appointment 5 minutes late but I had called and was told this was no issue, but then had to wait an hour before we both got started. As for my nails, I'll go in order: I showed a picture and was told "easy, no problem". My shape is absolutely off and after so long of him filing them away and just getting them to a point of no return, I gave up on trying. Both hands are completely different from each other, my nails aren't the same shape or length. I know I'm very specific but I just expect consistent, clean looking nails. My gel is bumpy and messy around the edges. I was cut with the finger file on 3 different fingers. Toward the end I told him thank you for his patience (because I needed to see a few different polishes before committing) and he responded with "it almost ran out" and I said "oh no" and he said "you're asking for a lot".... Well yes, my service is $65 plus the $10 tip I shouldn't have even left - I'd like decent looking nails for that cost. The breakdown for that is $35 for the full set, $20 for gel, $5 for shaping, and an additional $5 for some reason unknown to me. I will attach pictures. My friend was also very unsatisfied. I came in for a sns manicure and wanted a design with rhinestones but the nail tech was so rude and not in the least bit gentle. He was straight up aggressive. Nothing zen about it. Aside from his attitude, he nicked almost every nail bed. He also kept pushing my hands back in the acetone. When I kept telling him it hurt and tried to just keep my nails flat, he would push them down in it more. I've never wanted to walk out of a salon before this experience, but at that point at least needed to get the rest of my old nails off. I just couldn't get out fast enough. I should've had him stop immediately and switched with someone. I just had him put a top coat on and left. And after all of that, I really could've painted my nails better at home. When I called the night before to make an appointment the guy on the phone was very nice and booked my appointment for the next day. When I arrived today, I was met with very kind and empathetic service. The guy that fixed my nails really took his time to make sure they looked even and paid close attention to detail. My nails look and feel soooo much better and I am so happy with how they look. The guy told me that the price for a full set here was nearly the same as the price that my very badly done full set costed me. Which reassured me even more that I will be back again! The man who did my nails suggested getting a white tip with acrylic on top (I wanted French tips). I didn't love it (I'm used to getting the white painted on top) and be very graciously took my acrylics off and started over to get exactly what I wanted for my wedding weekend. They just want their money. The environment is so dirty. Nothing was wiped down. Trash everywhere. Sticky seats with gum stuck to it. Terrible. Just terrible. Went to Nails & Cocktails for the first time today after my dip powder from Athenian popped off after a week! I had Tyler, who did an amazing job! He took a lot of time filing to make sure the finish was smooth and listened when I said I wanted my nails pretty short (most people nod when I say short, but go longer than I what I like). This place isn't anything fancy, but they do a great job! Cocktails? Not so much. That's the only negative I would say. I wasn't offered anything to drink until about halfway through and was told they had sodas and wine. Not my definition of cocktails, but I got a free moscato none the less, so I'm happy. I did overhear another customer say they do mimosas on Sunday, so there's that. TLDR a good place with a misleading name, but they do an excellent job! read more
