Right then, I knew she was serious and focused on the people during their allotted time. When we came back at the right time, she got right to it. I just laid down and she got right to work. Initially it felt like she was working my body to feel where the knots were and she was able to find them without me saying anything before hand. The pressure was really good and I actually told her she could go harder. There was only one time I winced but that was a problem area for me. Mina's massage is so fabulous that my husband said he wanted to come back to Maui just so he could have her deep tissue massage again! Last visit, a year ago, he discovered Mina and said her deep tissue massage was the absolute best massage experience he has ever had before (and that says a lot since he has tried at least 10 different deep tissue massage therapists over the years, as he has had severe back, neck, and shoulder tension). He was able to get about 3 of Mina's massages before we had to leave last trip. Now that we are back, he has lined up at least 5 of her massages. I went with him for a couple's massage recently. I requested a Swedish massage since I enjoy the opposite type of massage than him. Both of us loved our massages and were pleased to start off our vacation with some great relaxation. I've had massages in all places and all skills levels (best one so far was a random spot in NYC...see my previous reviews!). The massage my bf and I received from Susan Welck at Mina's massage was the most relaxing and professional one I have received. She talked me through everything we were doing and even had a fun conversation about our personal lives. She knows the human body really, really well and so could figure out why I had pain in the most random parts of my back. She's also REALLY strong - omg the pressure was amazing. Not proud to admit this but I drooled several times during my 80 minute massage because of how much it relieved my sore back. DEFINITELY coming back here the next time I visit Maui in Oct. While it is a small place in the 505 Lahaina Hawaii building, the rooms are perfect for a great expereince. i have gone to Mina's since about 2015. She is great. Definitely recommended and definitely not your standard massage. Expect a new experience. After hopping up on my back to straddle my body, Mina put her entire (small framed) body weight into the massage. She rapidly twists and manipulates you into various unusual positions I have never experienced in a massage. We booked a massage for my husband & I (Susan was the other masseuse) and we ended up doing it couples-style (side-by-side tables). The space is very comfortable and tastefully decorated. Mina was incredibly accommodating - booking us for the same day (and very fast - within 20 min via text) which was exactly what we hoped for, as we stayed right next door at Lahaina Shores Resort. Massages were $80 each person (so $100 with nice tip; $200 for both of us). Overall, I needed to have this kind of massage, but I was totally not expecting it. It was also nice at the end, when they put my husband's hand and mine together (so we were holding hands to end the massage ... but it was funny because neither of us knew we were holding each other's hand, because neither Mina nor Susan spoke the entire experience other than to have us turn over). read more

Wow! Just wow! Hands down the best massage I've ever had. Mina seemed like a regular human when I first arrived. I don't know what kind of magical creature she transformed into soon as I was face-down with my eyes closed, but it felt like she grew a whole set of extra limbs which she used to knead the stress right out of me. Mina's touch was strong and confident. She bent me and stretched me, jostled me around like a washing machine, and got deep into the muscle tissue. She worked fast, and one of her (seemingly many) limbs was in contact with my body at all times. Not a single second of our time together felt unproductive or wasted. I got more out of my massage with Mina than I've gotten in twice the time with other masseuses. She clearly has an excellent understanding of body mechanics, as she did an expert job working with my frozen shoulder. Mina relocated from Lahaina after the fires and is rebuilding her business in Pa'ia. She was able to fit me in at short notice, so you might be in luck if you didn't plan ahead.
