I'm sure there is some merit to what they do but there is red flags all over this place. Their patient onboarding is incredibly repetitive and pushy. It feels strange especially considering how much money they cost and how other places will do the same things they do only they are covered by insurance. I am updating my initial review of MindEye Institute that I made in April 2022. I graduated! I "rang the bell" after 2 yrs 4 months of appointments and updates to the neuroplasticity glasses prescribed for me. To some they may say big whoop or so what!? Well... let me tell you this was life changing for me! In April 2022 when I walked through their doors, I was 7 months post a car accident, where I hadn't been "knocked out" and doctors at the local University hospital trauma unit, and my PCP misdiagnosed me to not recognize a fairly severe concussion had occurred. A chiropractor diagnosed me and told me to return to my PCP, and when I did, he only suggested I try physical therapy. 6 months later a "2nd opinion" doctor who was from sports medicine, who treats concussions all the time, said take this Rx of anti depressants, because I would need them ...and I had to accept this was my "new normal"!! I said, "but I am not depressed! Fix me!" He said there's nothing we can do! ... He referred me to speech therapy, thank GOD , because it was my speech therapist who had had one other patient that had went through remarkable healing via MindEye!! For me: my symptoms were that I had almost constant "squeezing" headaches. These were made worse by being in brightly lit areas or outdoors. I wore sunglasses all the time. If I bent down to pick up something from the ground, I fell over, no balance at all. If I stood on one leg, I fell. If I stood with eyes closed, I lost my balance. I could not use an escalator-- I would lose balance. I could not read, more than 2 paragraphs-- & I had been an avid reader previously. I could not see if items were aligned in a straight line, or if they truly were in a curved line. Math was now impossible to comprehend. Loud noises gave me headaches. In 2 yrs and 4 months-- ALL those issues are gone. No more glasses! No more headaches! No more balance issues! This was and is a MIRACLE. I can see and hear normally, stand on 1 leg, bend over etc normally, and so this means I can drive! My memory is still off, but it is better than it was, my days to memorize verbatim are probably gone but I just don't need to memorize...I use my phone, etc. They say it takes a long time to recover but the parts I have recovered from makes me so grateful that I took a chance to see if they could help me here! Everyone's timeline to heal is different. If this sounds like you or someone you know? Please don't give up. For 7 months, after the car accident, felt so disconnected --like I was under a glass dome-- I could see and hear, but seemed to be almost a disconnect from life. Be very cautious about setting up any appointments at the Mind-Eye Institute. I was told that the only way to set up an appointment with Dr. Z is by putting down a $300 deposit. Due to unforeseen circumstances, I had to cancel my appointment with Dr. Z, sixteen days prior to seeing her. When I politely asked for a refund, I was told that the $300 appointment reservation fee is NON-refundable and that it was all stated in the tiny print at the bottom of the confirmation e-mail. read more

After being "treated" by Dr Zelinsky my wife is now unable to leave the house and is left with zero hope for any recovery. I'm so thankful I've been able to be a patient of Dr. Adams at Mind Eye. I'm on my 3rd pair of glasses; I went for treatment related to ADHD and executive functioning. The results for me after 2 years as a patient: I have had a significant reduction in anxiety (I can think clearly and calmly under pressure; I don't get that stomach-flipping adrenalin rush in response to everyday triggers); I can pay attention all the way through a conversation-- no longer need to fake that i'm hearing everything. Trees are 3D now (I didn't know I had impaired 3D vision at all prior to this); headlights are so beautiful now--soft and liquid--every single time I see them! (I had had light sensitivity but never realized it). I didn't know that my reading/scanning ability had been affected (concussion 20 years ago and Lyme disease along the way could be the reasons) but I was reading at a 4th grade level (in terms of the time it took me to get through a passage well enough to understand it). I can read comfortably again and tested at an 11th grade level last month. I can organize "stuff" and scan and sort items so quickly now; I don't lose things anymore. The science is fascinating to learn about... the office isn't fancy, and the doctors don't spend much time explaining everything, but I don't see how they could... it's so complex, and they see as many patients as they can. It's incredibly exciting to get to participate in this new science, and to benefit from all of the learning that Drs Zelinsky & Adams have done in order to achieve the mind-blowing changes that people like me have experienced. read more

This place saved me. If it wasn't for Mind Eye and Dr. Adams, I don't know where I'd be. They have helped correct so many cognitive and physical problems other doctors told me I would just have to deal with or wouldn't even acknowledge. Yeah it's expensive but for the time and effort that goes into each appointment totally understandable. I've never had an issue with calling or making appointments. The wait has always been reasonable, sometimes appointments run over. I recommend this place to anyone. It's a process though not an instant cure, time and effort are required. read more

I am amazed by Dr. Zelinksi- seriously amazed. I am dealing with post concussive symptoms (1 year out) including difficulty with sensory integration. Her Z bell test is mind blowing. I don't get it, but I don't need to. All I know is that I have been wearing lenses for 4 weeks now and the impact has been staggering. I wish I had come to see her sooner and am excited for my next set of lenses. If you have a TBI or PCS, save your $ and see Dr. Zelinski. I am so grateful I decided to after putting it off for several months. I have tried several other therapies: including vision w another Neuro-optometrist and NUCCA (upper cervical chiro) and these lenses have yielded the best results. Hands down. read more

After spending an obscene amount of money, I was expecting a state of the art facility and an exam completed by a doctor (as was done when I spent $250 at our local VTOD office). It was a very basic office with seemingly basic assessments that took 2-3 hours done by a tech. The doctor that we saw for 20 mins at the end was knowledgeable and friendly, but honestly $2250 out of pocket was hard for us to come up with and I don't feel like this exam was remotely worth the cost. They prescribed almost the same glasses as our original eye doctor for an extra $250 just for the lenses I believe, and very basic exercises/apps (some of which cost another $30 each). If you have tons of extra money and a severe eye issue, give it a try, but don't expect to see the world-renowned doctor despite all the money you spent. Pretty sad that we had to sacrifice a lot of other therapies for this one visit and didn't see much improvement at all. This office knows people with these issues are willing to throw any amount of money at miracle "cures", but for literally 10x more than a normal eye doctor, they didn't deliver, in my opinion. I hope someone at the office reads this and they change their pricing to reflect the services offered. I can understand paying this money to see dr Z for an hour, but I absolutely feel like we were taken advantage of :( read more

Dr. Z is very knowledgeable and compassionate but this business is a complete mess. Expect every appointment to be 2+ hours and a front desk staff who couldn't care less about you. My wife is the only reason we still go here. I'd find someone else. It's too bad because I think they're good at what they do but there is no customer service. My son has always struggled with developmental delays and academic performance. After spending years working with doctors, interventionist, special ed teachers, reading specialist and tutors, I just had that motherly instinct that there's was something more to my son's struggles. After a lot of research, I found Dr. Z and decided I was desperate for help and would wait the two months to get in, pay the price required and spend the 4 hours in her office on appointment day. I'm here to tell you that it was worth it and I'm just sorry I didn't find her sooner. The outcome was life altering! Just being able to identify that my son has eye tracking issues and has dealt with that challenge the last 8 years of life was enough to almost bring me to tears. We just received his custom designed glasses so only time will tell how effective they are at correcting his issues but after FINALLY finding someone who would listen and could identify his issues was worth more than I can ever express in words. I've already referred a friend and haven't stopped singing her praises since we left her office. Dr. Z is truly an amazing person!! read more

Expect the worst customer service on the planet. First you are going to schedule your appointment weeks ahead. Then when you show up for your appointment expect to wait no less than 30 min. To see the doctor. Don't expect anyone to answer the phone when you call and they won't call you back for at least 24 hrs. If there is something wrong with the perscription expect a hassle and don't expect to ever have the doctor call you back. They are also really expensive. read more

I booked an appointment with Dr Zielinsky for my Mom (89 years young) who suffered a stroke resulting in the loss of her right peripheral vision. We were referred to the Dr by my Mom's neurologist. The tests performed by assistants were incredibly long and after some 3 hours we saw Dr Adams who started an eye exam. My Mom was so tired from all the other tests, she just couldn't continue. We ended up coming back and I asked desk when we would see Dr Z. They told me that they would try to get Dr Z to see my Mom when we came back to finish her exam. No such luck, Dr Adams continued and finished exam when we came back. Dr Adams seemed to struggle with getting my Mom to see well and she finally called in Dr Z in for a few minutes to assist. The result: prescribed glasses just don't seem to help. Called for followup but found out that was an additional fee. Seems that after you spend $$$$ for the exam, they would want to know that what they prescribed worked. It didn't work. I called to complain and they said someone would call back...the didn't. They also won't submit to insurance so be prepared to pay out of pocket if you don't have time for all the paperwork. read more

Yes, 10 years and I am still truly amazed at how her techniques and bell test still help my son with his auditory processing disorder. Dr z has a solid practice in eyes but for anyone who personally struggles with spectrum related issues or who has a child that struggles with autistic spectrum issues, dr z is a god send. Her innovative and deeply researched approach has produced amazing results for many families. I Highly recommend this practice. It is true that the doctor has struggled with some of her help in the past, but she has made major strides in this area and we have had great service in our basic eye care, glasses, and eye therapy. I have been a patient of Dr. Zelinsky's for several years. When I was pregnant she gave me several suggestions of things I could do with my children even as newborns to help with their development. I brought my older son to see her when he was a few months old and Dr. Zelinsky made a few suggestions to help even out his development (he favored his right side). She mentioned that the sooner you can correct the problem in a child's life the quicker they can make the change (makes sense to me too). So needless to say my second child went to see her early on too. I really trust Dr. Zelinsky's advice. She is truly brilliant at what she does connecting the mind and eye. And since I have been a patient for several years I know first hand what the other review mentioned about the office staff but it has gotten better and continues to do so. But it really is Dr. Zelinsky who is worth the wait and the visit. The five stars is for her work as a doctor. read more

Accounting will harass you and ask you to provide proof that you already paid them, only to continue sending random past due balances. I agree with all the other comments made. Although Jax M. has only negative things to say about most of the places s/he reviewed, I found that the results provided at Mind-Eye are outstanding! Most doctors that are any good I have had to wait for, and to wait 30 minutes although not ideal is not horrible. Beside that, when it came time for it to be my turn to be seen, I was given the time I needed and not rushed out the door to make up for lost time. Dr. Zelinsky is an AMAZING doctor who gives such thorough service and individual care, that you cannot help but tell others about the office visit. BTw, the staff do call back within an hour, and they have even answered after hours, if they have been there, to try to be of help. The bottom line is Dr. Z will save you money in the long run by solving your mind-eye issues quickly. read more

I agree, the office is very disorganized, but once you get through that process, the service they offer is not like anything else. They are very specialized and if you have a problem such as mine with concussion they know how to help. So, you need to decide if you want to wade through the staff to get to Dr. Zelinsky. At my first appointment, she came out to the wading room to introduce herself and said that she would be with me shortly and the assistants would begin with me. A total scam. After $500 and a pair of glasses I couldn't get the Dr. to email me back or get the support staff to return a call for a request for the prescription. I took the glasses to another eye Dr. and they couldn't even find a prescription in the glasses. My son's eyes are fine. Dr. Zalinsky finds something wrong with every kid that comes in. Our daughter had a great deal of difficulty learning how to read and wore prescription glasses. Several people suggested vision therapy and we took her to two different doctors for an evaluation. She has been seeing Dr. Zelinsky for almost a year. During that time Dr. Zelinsky has made several changes in our daughter's prescription glasses, which has resulted in incredible progress in her ability to read with greater ease. Ok the office is a bit difficult to deal with, but once you have the opportunity to see Dr. Zelinsky, you understand why there might be a wait. When my daughter was 8 months we went to see a physical therapist to help with issues my daughter had with crawling. The physical therapist referred us to Dr. Zelinsky's practice. At the time I did not see how her vision was linked to the issues we were encountering with my daughter's crawling. Dr. Zelinsky assessed my child, gave us additional exercises for our daughter to do and asked that we came back in four months to see progress and for a one year evaluation. At the time she told us the issues with her having everything (crib, changing table, car seat) for her right vision to focus on, but we were not doing anything to help her left eye develop. We did all her recommendations and even the PT was amazed with her findings and agreed. The issue was corrected. We still see her office and there has been some improvements with office staff, but truly the high marks go to Dr. Zelinsky. She is proactive and just brilliant in diagnosing problems and coming up with creative solutions. read more
