Had to buy some temple sleeves to relieve the pressure off the ears. There doesn't seem to be a good solution to solve this due to my prescription causes the lens to be heavy the middle.. kind of frustrating. Adjustments don't seem to help a lot just a little so I do need the ear padding sleeves.

I was able to call and ask if they have an availability for an appointment and they checked and they said they can get me in the same day... never mind, It was a day where lots of snow was falling and probably appointments were canceled.. But after two, regular eye doctor appointments with two different optometrist (Dr. Mila Petkovic) I found each of them to be kind and super patient, and really capable of providing great service, and telling me more about how my vision might change as I get older: bifocals. Figured to make a review as I noticed no current ones shown. And I got my eclipse glasses too!

I wish they had taken time to explain that if I want both contacts and glasses I would need to pay the additional fee for the second prescription. If she was going to order them then why not charge me then. Save your time and money. RUN RUN RUN

I know there are a couple optometrists here but there could be more. The woman who helped me (whose name I cannot recall, and yes I feel like a jerk) was thorough and suggested that I try a slightly reduced prescription from what I had. She explained that this would help keep my eyes healthy longer, as over-correcting can lead the lens to focus more than necessary and that could wear out the eye's capacity to focus, and potentially requiring readers or bifocals earlier. (I think I have all that right....) Anyway the point is that I really appreciated her explaining it all, rather than simply overcorrecting as apparently at least one other doctor has done. And the contacts that she suggested fit well and my sight is perfectly clear--in fact, perhaps more comfortably clear than my prior ones--so all in all I'm really glad I came to Boyce, and barring any issues will return next year around this time. The office is super tiny, so there's not a lot of space to sit and wait for your appointment. They also don't have a huge selection of frames, but it's worth looking around if you're here getting a prescription for specs. The parking lot is funky but there are spots directly in front of the office as well as on the west side of the building.

Just when I thought I was up to date on eye health and care, I learned a couple new things from Dr Lowe at my appointment yesterday that I'd never heard before, and once again I walked away with a smile on my face. Even sitting in the waiting room is fun - yesterday one of the display cases was filled with miniature vintage fire cars and trucks. My wait there wasn't more than a couple minutes, but that gave me just enough time to check them out!

He knows his stuff and it seems as if he has done this many times especially with more difficult prescription to determine. I would suggest for anyone to always ask for their prescription in case they need for future reference. It would a waste of your time or any doctor's time if you would revisit to pick this up. Remember this. It seems as if the office has frozen in time and so it is hard to overlook this. The office has older equipment although he is able to figure things out quickly and accurately. He might have been better to work for a large chain store since the paper and system processes are more in place since this is where the office lacks. Best to call the office back every few days to check on them if you are getting new glass lenses or contacts from them. It takes quite a long time to get replacement contacts if you have a more difficult prescription to fill. I would suggest to have a bunch of good questions prepared before visiting so you can have the best experience with them. I would double check on pricing before committing to any purchase as a good consumer would do. It seems as if he keeps mentioning that vendors and the manufacturers are charging more which could reflect his cost and our cost. I haven't checked out my cost since I need to refer to insurance to verify what have been charged appropriately. I didn't get any billing paperwork from the office and so I have to look into it. The place isn't as organized in the back room or in the tight exam room area as I would like it to be although I might be just too particular. I would just follow up by phone calls every couple of days to kindly ask to get status on the whereabouts of your things you are waiting for. They are nice people. It seems that the doctor knows where most things are located and not the person answering the calls which is rather time wasting for the doctor to answer calls. It's a mere suggestion to have the workers to know more instead of always referring to the doctor although who am I to place any judgement. I would still recommend the doctor to do the exam part and it is best to spend extra time to do some comparative shopping before committing to a purchase. Dr. Frohm was able to see me on short notice and provided me with the tests and Rx medicine needed to control my eye pain and prevent further injury. He was extremely knowledgeable, professional, and most importantly, personable. The office is clean and stylish, and offers a well-curated collection of eyewear from popular designers and local brands. I returned a month later for my annual eye exam and ordered glasses and prescription sunglasses, both of which were turned around in less than a week. I really appreciated the quick turnaround time, as I was able to have them in time for my vacation.
