For example, we have a very active Malinois mix who frequently bounces off the screen door to be let in, scratching the existing Plexiglass. After considering heavy duty screening to prevent damage to the Plexiglass (vetoed because it would obstruct the view out), Roger came up with covering the existing Plexiglass with another sheet so it could be more easily replaced when we decide to sell the house. He replaced the door hinges, refinished all of the scratched wood & the screen door looks & works wonderfully. Roger is a bit OCD about the quality of his work & I'm very thankful that he is. My husband & I were both amazed at what Roger charged for the quality & amount of work he did. We will definitely be calling him when we need more work done!

At first, we were a little worried because his bid was low and he seemed a little nervous when he met with us. He turned out to be the best contractor experience we've had. He had a really good understanding of the period and architectural style that we were after for the moldings and quickly built out example pieces for us to look at based on suggestions that he added. For the doors and windows we gave him basic specs and he could have cut corners on the actual materials. Instead, he installed really high quality materials that probably exceeded our expectations. We had both a flooring and drywall contractor on the job and, despite the fact that they were nice guys, Rod is the only one I'm writing a review for. While we are generally happy with the other contractor's work, it is Rod's work that shines; uncompromising quality, honesty and within our budget. We would call him back in a heartbeat. They stepped in quickly last summer when another contractor was unable to complete the work and finished the exterior paint job during a week we were away on vacation. Anthony just was out to paint exterior and interior of the new front door and sidelights that completed the job and he was absolutely terrific! Anthony was at our place for an entire day -- more than he certainly expected. He was polite, professional, understanding (the a/c went out during his visit!) and the finished product is beautiful. We've had bad experiences in the past so we were delighted to have a great one! They were hard working and reliable. They came when they said they were coming and finished the job in a timely manner. They were conscious, careful, great attention to detail. Johnny and Javier have a great work ethic, are kind and Johnny is a great communicator. I'm sure Javier is a great communicator. The quote for the work done was fair and a great value. Highly recommend. 5 stars. Will post pics when the sun is out.

Justin worked with us to confirm the height of our bed and headboard, the dimensions for our nightstands, and the dimensions and specific design of our dresser. We're very happy with the result. Prices are fair for the quality of the work. We have been very happy with the craftsmanship. The custom nature of these orders means there is a wait time, but we were in no rush and were very happy with the products we got. I will highlight that we specifically asked about low VOC finishes and were assured that's what they use. When our bed arrived, it had no smell. Our dresser does have a very strong smell and it does transfer onto clothes still, even though we aired out of room for a day after it arrived, wiped it down, and it's been 4 weeks now. White glove delivery was also included and both times (it was two separate orders, months apart) the delivery people were professional and were careful about placing items where we wanted, and not damaging anything while entering our home / navigating stairs and tight corners.

The craftsmanship is outstanding, and their attention to detail is obvious. The project was completed on time, and for a very fair price. I couldn't be happier with the finished product, and with my overall experience. I would hire Makers Woodworks again for other projects, and recommend them to anyone looking for high quality, custom wood furniture from experienced craftsman who stand by their work.

Now I have another job that requires the skills of an electrician so naturally I thought of Summit. Over the past couple weeks I have left three voicemails asking them to install a new chandelier.
