They had seamlessly loaded the contents of my 650 square foot apartment including large/heavy fragile furniture with glass (8 foot tall dresser with mirror weighing 250 lbs, and 50 galloon reptile tank) in about 1 hour. We promptly left via car to meet them at our new address in Philly, and they arrived at exactly the same time as we did. They unloaded the truck in about an hour again, and helped partially unpack and put items in the proper places, especially the furniture that would have been hard for me to move on my own later. I will continue to use Piece of Cake, and have recommended to several friends over the years that I have been using them. It was quick working with the customer support team initially to quote the move, make payment, and on COIs and confirmation. When we move again in a couple years Piece of Cake will be the only mover I call. My recommendation to others considering the service, be transparent and honest about the contents of your move, especially items requiring extra protection even if there is an additional fee involved. There were no surprise add-ons in my move because we carefully selected every single item that would be included in our move early on in the process, and made sure to reply in detail to the follow up emails regarding insurance, access to the apartments (stairs vs elevator, reserved elevator, etc.), and so on move-in day everything went off without a hitch. I price-compared a ton of NYC moving companies and J & G gave me a competitive moving quote. Additionally, the building I was moving into required a certificate of insurance (COI) and J & G was able to offer it for me for free. A lot of other companies charge for this. Before moving, I communicated with them via email and they always responded promptly and were very clear about what their moving package included. The day of the move, they called and asked if it was okay if they came an hour early. They were very communicative with me during the whole move. The lead guy (forgot his name!) assessed how many things I had and then discussed with the other 2 men on how to efficiently approach the move. The 3 men were over 6' tall and strong, and they were able to finish my whole move in a little more than 1 hr! I did not have anything that was easily breakable but the men treated my things with care. They provided blanket and shrink wrapping for all of my furniture. Everything was loaded up into their truck very quickly. These guys wasted no time. When I arrived at my new apartment building, they had already started unloading my things. I had my boxes labeled with what was inside (i.e., kitchen supplies, shoes, jackets) and they actually placed each box in the corresponding room. Best of all, there were no hidden fees. They ended up not charging me a processing fee that was included in the quote and gave me $40 off my quoted price. The movers were so friendly, communicative and professional, I will definitely be using J & G Moving again! I also wanted to note that on the day of my move, the street I was moving from was blocked due to construction. J & G movers did not complain or make any mention of that until I had stepped outside of my apartment building and noticed it. Before they even arrived, I got a tracking link to follow their location just like Uber, which immediately made me feel at ease. Crisanto and his crew showed up right on time and were incredible. They worked quickly but carefully, wrapping all of my furniture and somehow managing three giant mirrors without a single issue. Not one complaint and not one moment of stress. What really stood out was how above and beyond they went. They helped me figure out which part of my couch would actually fit in my space, laid out my rugs, and organized everything so I could still move around my studio comfortably.
