Mindy's Munchies 516 Livingston St. Norwood, NJ 07648 Giant Peanut Butter Cup This is a gourmet version of a Reese's peanut butter cup. The creamy peanut butter was surrounded by rich, hand dipped milk chocolate. It was very tasty and it took me two sittings to finish the dessert. In addition, the treat was packaged beautifully in a decorative box with a gift bag. While we are on the same page in terms of quality and taste, we aren't on the same page in terms of size. When I originally found out about the "giant peanut butter cup," I was expecting the chocolate literally to be equivalent to an 8" baked pie. (I heard via word of mouth about the "enormous" peanut butter cup, but did not see any photographs.) Although it is slightly bigger than an ordinary size peanut butter cup, it is not truly oversized. I absolutely love their chocolate. I was gifted a variety of their items a few years back and have been hooked on it ever since. I'll try a few new items here and there but my favorites are the peanut butter cups, waffle cone clusters, chocolate covered nuts & bars, and coconut bliss. I'll usually get a few boxes or baskets for friends and family around the holidays, which are always enjoyed. The staff have always been kind and helpful when I'm choosing chocolates out of the display cases. Pretzels & Oreos had a very thin layer of Chocolate. The underlying pretzel and Grahams were very 'pasty' and crumbly. Almost like a soda cracker. I don't know for sure, but the chocolate tasted like compound, the stuff they sell in chip form for easy home chocolate melting. read more

As soon as I got within feet of the front door of Mindy's I smelled chocolate which was amazing! I found this place because I needed a last minute Passover dessert and they had chocolate covered matzoh platters - AMAZING! I had placed my order for the platter in advance on their website and it was ready working 30 minutes. The order was ready and packaged when I went to pick it up. For 8 pieces of matzoh though it was a bit pricy. Since this was my first time in their shop, I naturally had to browse. They had tons of chocolate covered treats both fresh and packaged. The staff was extremely helpful and said I could browse away and let me know when I was ready. I decided a chocolate cover potato chip cluster and a Cinnamon Toast Crunch cluster, which were average, they were nicely coated in chocolate, but just not that satisfying for the price. I also got two of Mindy's marshmallow mountains in dark and milk chocolate - this marshmallow blew my mind! It was covered in caramel which was soft and creamy and did not compromiser the soft texture of the marshmallow and then covered in chocolate with toffee pieces. It was extraordinary and this marshmallow treat alone will bring me back to this cute little candy shop. Definitely a shop that will remain in my back pocket for sweet chocolatey treats. read more

A company sent a gift basket - there was a big basket, a lot of shredded plastic, and a layer of chocolates and cookies at the top; it would've been better in a smaller basket and less waste. For the last 3 years I've been very fortunate to have had a students parents send my co-workers and I Mindy's Munchies for Christmas. I think it's the one thing I look forward to the most around the holidays. I've never tried anything I didn't like (and I've tried everrrrrything! Trust me). I placed an order for 8 pounds of assorted chocolates and found upon pick-up that only 6.75 pounds of chocolates were packaged, when I questioned why, was told that each box with an additional piece would be over. By shortchanging each and every box the total order was shortchanged significantly. I asked that the owner call me and was completely ignored. I have been receiving Mindy's Munchies each year when I visit NJ for Easter. Really disappointed, in both service and taste. We ordered 3 items through a 3rd party delivery app and they sent only 1 correct item. The app options ask the restaurant to contact us directly if there is any issue, but they never reached out to us at any point in the whole process. **edited due to store's response -- I sent a complaint message to the delivery app, not providing my phone number, and they called me immediately, so I don't see any issue with my phone. other restaurants have also called me recently because they're out of ingredients, with no problem whatsoever. The app also only offered a credit of $4, after a huuuuge waste of time trying to get redelivery for the 2 items or a refund - an amount I don't understand? As for the weight of the chocolates, it was the store's decision to sell in 1/4 pound increments, so I'm not sure how to respond to them having to go over instead of under the weight. I will decline doing more legwork and contacting the store, as we didn't like the food anyway.** They sent a milk chocolate "mountain" when their menu specifically makes you choose milk or dark chocolate - and I would think a self-proclaimed chocolate lover such as Mindy would understand how important it is to get the right kind, as some people really dislike certain types of chocolate. They also flat-out failed to send the "smoreos," so we requested a redelivery; the store apparently canceled and marked itself closed. We didn't realize at the time but the store was apparently actually open for another hour?? As for the actual products, the milk chocolate mountains and marshmallow peanut butter cups honestly just tasted like cheap chocolate a + other cheap ingredients, with no real flavor profile or depth, and seem really overpriced. I'm the last person on earth to self-cook/bake anything over ordering, but I actually think I could have made better. First off, inside is tooooooo cute !!!! The chocolate covered pretzels are really fresh and delicious. Also the plain regular size rice crispy treats are good, but I must say that I went back recently and purchased the mini crispy treats (they were located next to the register) and it tasted really artificial and nasty. It didn't taste home made and it wasn't chewy and fresh like the regular size crispy treats I had months ago. It tasted more like those nasty crispy treats that are sold in the blue packaging at the markets (Kellogg's brand). Their chocolate clusters with nuts are good and the chocolate covered chip clusters are yummy as well. I really like the bags and box that they put your treats in; really cute. Well I would totally recommend this place and if you're thinking about trying them out; do it. This place is the best. I was first introduced to Mindy's when my son was born and a coworker sent me a gift basket filled with an assortment of excellent treats. I never knew how many great things could be made better with a coating of chocolate. I am torn between the chocolate covered peanut butter crackers and the white chocolate covered Oreo. I usually eat them both. I now use Mindy's for my business holiday gifts and will go out of my way to stop by the store if I am in the area. Love this place read more

I honestly don't know why I didn't give Mindy's 5 stars on my original review because this shop absolutely deserves it! I was in recently again and tried the turtles and coconut balls, along with some cake balls. If you are a fan of the Girl Scout Samoa cookies (the coconut ones that I am not fast enough in my house to get to), you absolutely must try her coconut balls. They taste just like this cookie (no.......better!!). The cake balls are SO good and so decadent and the turtles are perfection. I also decided to treat myself to a sweatshirt, which was really reasonably priced and good quality! Shout out to the service as well - each person has been friendly, always a smile on their faces, courteous and helpful.
