Miner's Claim is a delightful find in a small town. The decor is immaculate, having the esthetic of being on a boardwalk but with the view of mountains surrounding it. We arrived here fairly close to opening time on Sunday, and were seated right away on the patio. Our waitress was very helpful with suggestions, and prompt with refills. My husband ordered the New York strip with a side of Miner's Mash (sweet potatoes mashed with russets, then topped with cheddar and bacon), and I got the Ahi tuna steak, also with Miner's mash. Both meals were wonderfully prepared, and delivered exactly as expected. Okay, so the two stars are for the drinks. Yummy martini selections! My steak was way overcooked, mashed potatoes were cold, and basically no seasoning. The veggies were steamed nicely, but absolutely no seasoning. My son had a steak at Chili's last week that was half the price and way tastier (and correctly cooked). My husband had the pork tomahawk chop and liked it, but it was really thin. The bread wasn't homemade and was pretty tasteless. It's the only game in town... and it tastes like it. read more

Another surprise fantastic restaurant in a very small town. Kind of a kitty interior, which I loved, although you might want to ask to be seated away from the air conditioner in the back room. Lovely huge patio out front, really good drinks, excellent wedge salad, and burgers were worth a second trip. Will take them up on that next time we're in town. What an unexpected surprise! This place is modern, but comfortable. The food was great. Decided to go with some small plates and salads. Had the sliders, tacos, and calamari. All great! We were there on August 9th.... my husband and I. Honestly the food was wonderful. The place was packed. We were seated on the outside of the patio. The turn off for both of us is the massive amounts of flies. It was disappointing. We gobbled our food and took some home with us just to get out of there. I am hoping this problem was taken care of. We will never go there again because we will probably never camp at the camp ground again. But for future people sit at the bar area. read more

We are 1st time visitors to this amazing restaurant (don't hold it against me because we are from Southern California). My husband is a bow hunter and was lucky enough to be drawn for this magnificent area for deer again. We chose to have the meat processed and come back to pick it up two weeks later which placed us in Silt tonight. I had the Ahi and my husband chose the wild boar - both were great choices. Not only was the food over the top, so was the service. The soup of the day was shrimp bisque and was some of the best we have ever tasted. I hope to be back in the area next year, if not sooner, to enjoy this restaurant again. read more

What a great end to a frustrating day. The lady that waited on me was kind and gracious. I ordered the Jalapeño Blackberry margarita, a side salad, and the mushroom swiss burger with fries. Everything was wonderful! The margarita had just enough zing to make it fun, the side salad was simple, fresh, and topped with crunchy thin spiraled beets. A client of mine recommended this restaurant and based on the reviews we thought we would give it a try. Sadly our experience was the worst restaurant experience we have ever had. We ordered a center cut fillet that was tasteless and full of sinew and silver skin it was tough like a piece of leather clearly not a choice cut of meat. The vegetables and baked potato were cold, so cold in fact that the cheese and butter didn't melt . To add insult to injury my husband was bit by some vermin spider, wasp, bee something that should not have happened. On a positive note the tomato basil soup was excellent. read more

Who knew in this little town that I would find such an amazing place to eat?! While out on the motorcycle for a nice weekend ride, we detoured to Silt, CO for the night. Upon recommendation from the hotel staff we ventured out to Miners Cafe for dinner. The atmosphere is absolutely stellar. The outdoor fire pit and porch seating is beautiful.... the fire was just perfect for us. Our server was pleasant, knowledgeable, friendly, and gave some great recommendations. We started with some amazing mozzarella and tomato sticks with a balsamic reduction. Our salads were amazing - the soy balsamic dressing was delicious !!! recommended the petite tenderloin and the chicken burgendy- although the chicken dish was full of creamy buttery flavor - it was a bit much for me, but it was still great, the vegetables were delicious though as was the rice. The tenderloin was enjoyed and was cooked as requested. The drinks... they were amazing!! The Strawberry Patch Martini was delightfully fresh! It was amazing ! Would recommend the drink again!! We will be coming back again when making our way through town... would recommend it to anyone who needs a great dinner!!! read more

Made reservations at 4 only to arrive to find out you cannot order dinner until 5. They gave us full dinner menu at time of out arrival. Why? We left and came back at 5. Waitress took our order before most in restaurant, yet most others received their food while we were still waiting. Waitress apologized, saying she thought she got our order in before the big group .... Yea right. Waited forever to get food, which wasn't that great anyway. Very poor service. read more

This little gem of a restaurant is found on the main drag in Silt,CO and within a mile of KOA Glenwood Springs West/Colorado River KOA Holiday. The food is prepared fresh by a chef to the stars. Excellent quality and presentation with reasonable prices. Little touches like homemade fresh whipped cream on the desserts are telling. Presentation is beautiful and taste is amazing. The soups de jour were delicious. We also tried the Fresa salad, Quesadilla, Tacos con carde. Would have loved to have tried the Kobe sliders or Italian crusted salmon among a host of others. Adult beverages were great - my wife, a connoisseur of Bloody Marys said that theirs was the best she had ever tried. Trip advisor gave this place a 5 star rating in 2020, and it is well deserved. Don't miss this place on your next visit to Colorado and be sure to also check out the nearby Sopris Alpaca farm. Free admission and you get to feed food sold in the boutique and interact with these beautiful creatures. The gift shop has a wide selection of beautifully designed and crafted alpaca items. Theres a lot to do very close to this KOA. Awesome place to stay. We extended our stay to visit Miner's Claim more than once. That says it all. read more

If you live anywhere near Silt, Co, or even NOT close, you must try this place!! I like the food but I love the atmosphere! Great drink specials and a front patio with a fire pit. My favorite app is the Brie with Lingonberry sauce! Neat place that you'd ever expect to find in Silt, Colorado of all places. My only issue with this place is that the bar tender on regular weeknights is grumpy and impersonal. He acts like he is terribly overworked and it's a just tiny bar. He could use a nice, tall glass of something warm and fuzzy, that's for sure! read more

I'm sad to say my family and I will not go back to this restaurant. Sad because it used to be our favorite place to go out for a nice sit down dinner. We had a party of 6, the waitress we got was not friendly and was all over the place. She missed bringing out a salad for one guest. Kept forgetting anything that had been asked for. And made comment like,"I'm going as fast as I can", or "I'm trying" when a simple refill was requested. I felt so bad about asking her for anything that I didn't ask anymore. Then comes the food. Our appetizers came out great! Which is why I left two stars. Our steak diners however came out cold and I mean ice cold, not flavored like usual. The waitress never came to ask how our meals were she never asked if we need anything else such as steak sauce. I didn't eat my steak. Sadly, this happened the prior time we came as well with the steaks being cold. I addressed with the manager and she gave a small discount on my the steak. I expect my plate to be comped when I'm telling you my plate came out ice cold and couldn't be fixed due to a very crappy service. We brought our friends from Texas out with us it was a total bummer. We usually spend around $200 to eat here as a family and it's just not worth it anymore the food is not what it used to be neither is the service. read more

Not just the best in town but one of Colorado's best dining experiences. We've come here with family for dinner. We've come here as a couple for drinks. We will always come back to this spot. From the fire pit out front to the back of house bar stools this place is warm and cozy. The staff has always been friendly and down to earth, just like the owner. We met him one night and he shared his story with us. We were mostly interested in hearing about how he makes his margaritas taste so good! We got that story too! The food is top notch here and always prepared perfectly. I would like to see more plant-based, vegan items on the menu to be more inclusive of all family members and their diets but won't pull my review down to four stars because of that. Fantastic restaurant in an unexpected place. Silt Colorado is a small town sitting on the Colorado River near Glenwood Springs. A place you should not pass up! Miner's Claim is a home run for dining with friends, date-night, and is perfect if you are bringing kids. They have special plates just for the youngsters the food never gets mixed up and the kids menu is perfect. Our last visit we brought our " fancy" New York friends out for the night during their visit. To say they are food snobs is an understatement. They couldn't stop raveing about the Italian Herb Crusted Salmon and the Burgandy Mushroom Chicken. They thought the atmousfear was true American fun, they kept pointing out all the details from the lighting to the incredible art hanging everywhere. The colection of Miner's Claim artifacts were a topic of discussion from the log timbers to the old fashioned phone that works. They loved the outdoor fire pit, they didn't want leave it. I thought they were going to try and convince Lisa the Bartender to move to Manhaten because they hadn't had martinis that good ever! The menu has changed in the last few months. It seems pretty exotic, overpriced and way over valued. Kids burger was fried to a black puck, which they tried to cover...i.e hide, in cheese, despite telling them we wanted it medium. For some reason 90% of the restaurants think they can cook your kids crap and you wont' notice. Or they ignore your kid while they are talking. Good luck with that. If you can't cook my kids burger, why would i let you cook my steak? Try Glenwood or Rifle for better food. read more
