This place is so cute and the food was pretty good! I was hesitant at first since there were a few unfavorable reviews, but super glad I took the risk and ate here. Mom ordered the chicken club with soup of the day and gobbled it up! I ordered a plain burger with a side salad (super pleased with the salad) and it was delish, boyfriend ordered the fish and chips and he enjoyed it. I tried his fry and didn't care for the skinnyness of it (my preference are thicker ones) but he liked them. We ordered a pina colada and enjoyed that as well. Lastly we shared the calamari as an appetizer and enjoyed it very well!!! :) but most of all the place is super cool looking inside, I would go back just for the atmosphere and drinks if the food wasn't good lol. read more

Called ahead to ensure there was a spot available, otherwise we'd be making a reservation. I'd read the reviews and this seemed the "it" place to be; and as we drove past the front looking for a parking spot we could see several people dining out on the front patio. Drove around a bit to find a parking spot (we're hauling a 18' trailer) -- there's plenty of good parking around the area. Arrived and told the ladies at the hosting area (podium?) 2 for dinner, and they smiled - i think they knew it was me that called ahead. They decided where we'd be sitting and we were going to the back. I cringed as a recent "put them in the back" at a restaurant didn't work out well. Spoiler alert -- this was not the case in this adventure, all worked out well. Quickly we had water and drink order submitted (we talked about beer and wine choices with our waitperson). Drinks arrived and we talked through the entree ordering with our same waitperson. Rolls along salad for my dinner partner and corn jalepeno chowder for me. The corn jalepeno chowder did not disappoint, the salad was what you'd expect from a dinner salad (some salads don't meet expectations, so this was a solid). After a while (not quick, not long time) the entrees arrived. Dinner partner ordered filet mignon with baked potato and the obligatory vegetable (broccoli which he doesn't like - we should'a changed that part). I had ordered the crusted tuna with steamed veggies and jasmine rice. All in all, it was good food. What we'd change: put the sauce one the side -- it comes with the filet and get a different veggie; change out the jasmine rice for something perkier and the two sauces that were with the tuna were a bit underwhelming ... need something a bit spicier. The service was AWESOME, couldn't ask for better; each person that saw about us (i counted four) were extremely kind, friendly, and on target with timing. read more

Everyone said this is the best restaurant in Silt. It may well be the best in Colorado. Different food and drink special every night and top notch service. We would particularly like to commend Brandy and Shay who kept our table cleared and our drinks full. We had tacos, mac n cheese, boar strips, and a steak to eat. All were excellent. This restaurant is a hidden gem in Silt, Colorado. Founded by a chef from Aspen, every dish we had (and we ate there more than once during our short stay bike touring around Colorado) was amazing. Great food and great service are hard to find in the restaurant business these days, but you will find them at Miner's Claim. All the staff are welcoming and helpful. Your water glass will stay full and empty plates won't sit on your table for long. It's hard to find a great server these days, one who knows the menu, can make suggestions, provides great customer service and works well with people. Chris delivers in all areas. We've never been disappointed in the food. It's delicious, cooked to order and never over-salted. I'd definitely recommend Miner's Claim over Juicy Lucy any day. Make a detour to Silt. I had the filet special - rare- & the wife had bistro steak: both cooked perfectly and tasty! We didn't make a reservation but were able to get a couple seats at the bar. Wonderful dining spot in Silt, CO if you end up there like we did. We stopped in for dinner after a very long day of traveling by plane and car; it was a well deserved feast. We had the beef tenderloin special that came with two medallions topped with a delicious reduction of some sort and bacon. The house mashed potatoes were to die for (a combination of Idaho and sweet potatoes). Steamed veggies were fresh and the house salad was also good. There was a little bit of a wait for two on a Friday evening as there were many large parties in the indoor and "outdoor" heated tent dining area in mid-October when we visited. I'd say this place is good for pretty much any occasion; family, date, escape. Service was wonderful and genuine, you really got the "small town" welcome here. They have a beer, wine, and a full bar with some interesting cocktails listed on the menu, all reasonably priced. You can score 10% off by unlocking a Yelp discount and I also saw a business card in the hotel that offered the same discount on meat/seafood entrees. read more

Great spot, great food, great service. We barely waited on a Saturday night but did make reservations. Everything very fresh, broccoli cheddar soup was on point. Ordered pork tenderloin with creole mustard cream sauce, the artichoke scampi salmon special, and stuffed blue crab and cheese bacon wrapped jalapeños. Very happy with everything except the veggies, steamed bland veggies. Would like to see some slightly charred roasted veggies instead. Other thank that I would say on point spot! Driving by on I-80 and found this place in the IExit App. Great atmosphere on the patio and inside. Clean and exceptional service. Stopped for lunch. Raspberry Vinaigrette house made with chunks of fresh raspberries for the house salad and Jalapeño Corn cheddar was perfect as the soup/salad combo. Ordinary food, slightly overpriced, poor service, odd menu, tacky, Hillbilly inspired surrounds. While nothing was "bad," exactly, i find it difficult to offer rave reviews on this place. The cheeseburger was barely warm. I cut it in half and sent back the second half for a re warming. The quality of ingredients was generally pretty good. The bun, however, was just doughey wonder bread, barely toasted around the edges. I kept dreaming of a good piece of buttered sourdough pan fried for this burger. Not the case here. The onion rings were not bad, but possessed an odd smell and taste. I suspect that they were fried in either older oil or oil that was inadvertently mixed with the grease of the meat being served. Despite asking for extra lettuce, none whatsoever was present. The cheese lacked flavor. Everywhere are reminders of how many martinis that they've sold. To me: irrelevant, demonstrating a lack of focus on the food itself. Who cares? Why not brag about your May heating bill? What made the experience painful was the ration of accolades showered on this restaurant, in yelp and elsewhere. The food was patently ordinary. The menu also, to me, was odd: all-out high dollar steakhouse exotica for the region (which is usually risky in rural places like this), coupled with a lengthy list of appetizers, with barely 3 or so affordable sandwiches. In my opinion, with some measured TLC, they could transform this ordinary food into something truly wonderful. Why? The quality of ingredients--but for the wonder bread hamburger buns--was pretty good. It's a shame. What so often happens: the ownership tirelessly creates a rocking establishment, then hires "cooks" with no culinary training or understanding of American culture / American cuisine to carry the torch. Pricing was on the high side. Service was poor. While they were operating at about 1/2 capacity, it took nearly 10 minutes to be seated. Getting my order taken posed yet another challenge. I kept seeing this young high school busboy walk by me and I came dangerously close to just demanding that he take my order, in lieu of waiting for the one and only person authorized to take my order. The odd shaped booth in the rear of the place was so uncomfortable that I nearly dropped 8" when sitting in it. I moved. The irony: I can't recommend any other "steak house" styled restaurant over this in the area though, not without a drive to Glenwood. There is one in Rifle that I look forward to trying; you never know. My preferred places of late in the region offering good value: Polanka in Rifle (combination plate is outstanding), Rib Crib in Rifle, and Juicy Lucy's' lunch menu in Glenwood Springs (although I had a dreadful experience recently there, sending my shishkabob back 3 times to get it properly cooked--(Another possible inexperienced new cook situation, unfamiliar with local standards). read more

Stayed at the Holiday Inn in Silt for the night during my move from Cali to Colorado, and the staff recommended this place for my family and me to dine at. This place is cozy!! It's on a corner of the main street, easy to find with the signs. Parking is all street, but it's free (woocha!). As soon as we stepped out of the car, the blissful scent of burning firewood in the crisp fall air greeted our noses. We walked around the corner to the entrance, where the hostess welcomed us into the warmth. The Colorado aesthetic is strong in this restaurant--aspen logs rising from the corners, bare wood walls, blue accent lighting with the warmth of the electric candles flickering from the tables. I felt thoroughly at-home and comfortable. The menu had so many delectable options, it was hard to choose! I opted for the 6oz Petite Sirloin with fresh greens and their special mashed potatoes. LET ME JUST SAY: THOSE POTATOES OUTSHONE THE ENTIRE REST OF MY PLATE. They're a mix of sweet and Idaho potatoes, with a special ingredient: love. Every bite intrigued my senses. Notes of garlic could be found, as well as some other mystery flavor. It was slightly sharp, slightly tangy, yet so delightfully smooth that I still cannot place my finger on it. All that is not to say the rest of my plate lacked flavor. The steak was perfectly cooked. The veggies were perfectly prepared. The salad was perfectly fresh. Overall, it was an incredible, nomilicious meal! To top it all off, our server, Ben, brought on a hella lot of charm. He played off my family's humor and bounced back with his own. He checked on us frequently-but-not-too-frequently, which was great. It's been a long time since I've met a server so agreeable. Can't recommend this place enough!
