Not many option in Rifle but we found this spot on the main corner in town. The restaurant had multiple tables of people for lunch and we decided to give it a shot and grabbed a few bar seats. Our bartender was also serving the entire restaurant and did a great job. She was very friendly and worked quickly. We started with the garlic knots which was a generous portion and came out hot. I wish it had more garlic flavor but we still enjoyed it. For my lunch I had the meatball hoagie and my colleague had a build your own thin crust pizza. We both enjoyed the lunches and left beyond full. Overall, not a bad spot in a town that doesn't have much. The restaurant was clean and the menu was large. We would come back again. read more

I think this restaurant is better than okay. I stopped in to eat within a half hour of closing time. The waiting staff was good. The kid's menu was good and had buttered pasta. Short staffing made for a very long wait to even be acknowledged at our table. Large group of 15 diners and one new waiter took over the kitchen which dropped food and delivered orders one at a time to the table. We were finally greeted by the bartender after 15 minutes, who saw us waiting and came our table. She apologized and gave us a free appetizer for the wait which was nice. The thick eggplant slices were stacked on too of each other with only a slice of Mozzarella on top, so there was no cheese on the rest of the eggplant. We created our own pizza and the crust/quality/preparation was excellent. Preparation was rather fast for a hand-crafted meal. It was nice to have traditional Italian offerings including liqueurs, which I enjoyed. Genesee provided truly superior service......some of the best we've had in years. Just got off the phone with the owner. Received delivery of food that was not edible. Meatball sandwich was hard, couldn't cut it with a knife. Salad served in the same tray, was hot on arrival. On top of that, they over charged her credit card. The owner was short tempered and evasive. We were offered either money back or new food. This person does not belong in the restaurant business. Can't here last night as a group in downtown Rifle. Huge indoor dining space, all tables spaced apart and you never felt crowded. COVID compliant. Customer service was great. We did not get her name but she was the only server working and serving all the tables. Ordered the spinach dip and several types of pasta. Spinach dip is a try here instead of chips like most places they added pita bread which was a nice touch. Pastas are huge for their price which is great if you want bang for your buck. We all had leftovers to go. My pasta was the Tomato basil linguine. It was too salty. Lots of chicken and not enough pasta. Overall ok dining in Rifle. Oh my gosh. This place has incredible pasta and pizza. We ordered the Italian sausage and penne pasta, a small all meat pizza and garlic cheese bread. There was enough food for 3 meals. The sausage had a nice flavor with a little bite. The service was excellent. The servers were so busy but still kept making sure we had what we needed. What an unexpected find: a great, locally-owned pizza parlor in the tiny town of Rifle, Colorado. Though I usually prefer Neapolitan-style pizza, my inner kid also appreciates a good New York-style pie, the kind piled high with cheese, meats, and veggies. Brickhouse Pizzeria specializes in the latter, though the sprawling four-page menu also touts Italian-American fare such as chicken parmigiana and spaghetti. On our recent trip though Colorado, my dad and I stuck with the basics (two pies plus an order of calamari) and were duly impressed. Fried calamari is a good litmus test for any Italian restaurant; if the kitchen can execute the perfect ring or tentacle (tender with a crispy, well-seasoned batter), then the remainder of the menu will likely succeed. I am pleased to report that Brickhouse Pizzeria passed my test with an A+. The rings and tentacles were tender throughout, a sign that they had been tenderized in milk prior to hitting the fryer. The batter was crispy with no residual oil at the bottom of the basket. The accompanying dipping sauces (a thick, herbaceous marinara and a zippy lemon garlic aioli) were also excellent and and likely made in house. For pizzas, we went with a 12-inch supreme and a 12-inch "Sinatra." The former was a classic done the right way, with fresh veggies, a quarter-pound of nitrate-laden meats, lots of shredded mozzarella, and a light, zesty tomato sauce that tasted homemade. The "Sinatra" was a concoction of funky toppings (Gorgonzola, minced garlic) offset by the brininess of green and black olives. The crusts of both pies were light and airy, a sign that Brickhouse proofs its yeasty dough prior to baking. I seldom review a place after a single visit, but I sampled enough of Brickhouse's wares to justify an enthusiastic four-star rating. It's not the "best pizza ever" (come on Yelpers, spare me the unqualified superlatives and superfluous exclamation marks), but it's a surprisingly good dinner option in Rifle. *"Family friendly" is my euphemism for a place teeming with obnoxious children in desperate need of Ritalin...or opiates. read more

We came in around 5pm, which was a perfect time to be seated immediately. I ordered a White Russian and my boyfriend had the House Mule. Both were very good. Our appetizer, the calamari fritta, was also very good. It came with two dipping sauces. I loved the tangy sauce and my boyfriend loved the marinara sauce. It took a little while for our main course to get to our table, but that was ok. We weren't in a hurry. The waitress was friendly and checked on us frequently, before and after our food was ready. Drinks: I ordered a Dr. Pepper, I love my Dr Pepper, it was flat as if it came out of a bottle. Food: (Picture 1) I ordered the garlic knots with alfredo and marinara. The knots and marinara were good, but the alfredo (Picture 2) has the consistency of country gravy and lacked flavor and tasted more like flour and water with a hit of garlic. (Picture 3) I also ordered the Meatball Sandwich. The bread looks over cooked but it was perfect, the meatballs taste like overly ground beef with no flavor. The fries we berry yummy. Servers are useless and have no common sense. I ordered two pizzas and she clearly told me it would take more than one hour. I still got there before the hour about 40 mins and she said the pizzas were ready since 30 mins ago! She took my name and number and never thought about calling me to let me know the pizzas were done. I still paid and took pizzas home but we had to get rid of them. They were completely soggy and not fresh at all. They smelled like bad pork and seem like they were steamed for too long. If that makes any sense, in other words Disgusting! I was doubtful of Brickhouse Pizzeria's "Sinatra Pie." At first glance, it may appear flat, greasy and predictable. The service was straightforward as we were the only patrons dining in, but the pizza took forever to get to our table. Totally worth it! Pleasantly surprised considering we were starvin', so we got the biggest pizza pie size that they carried. The main ingredients of the Sinatra consists of marinara sauce, cheese blend, salami, julienned pepperoni, kalamata olives, roasted garlic, capers, gorgonzola cheese. That Gorgonzola Cheese was the main ingredient, complimenting the pizza through every bite, because this pizza was MUAH!! Deliziosa!! We took some leftovers home and we actually fought for the last slice. Our hostess brought some ranch as dipping sauce and it was mashing well together, we were thrilled out of the positive experience. This was our first stop during our trip and still leaves a good impression in our memories. This great pizza place is on the corner location in downtown Rifle. This place was heaven sent for us! We had be out all day in the Rifle State Park area all day and were famished when heading back into town. With COVID many places in small towns have had to pay the price and shut their doors. Luckily for all of us that is not the case with Brickhouse. At the time we were there they were offering limited indoor seating due to COVID. We all got calzones and they were amazing! The beer never tasted better and the pre-dinner salad was great as well. I always get the bruchetta and yet again it was delicious. On a whim and seriously craving some seafood in this landlocked state I ordered the seafood linguini with a white wine sauce. Amazing! The mussels and clams did not have a bunch of grit in them, the shrimp were cooked perfectly and the sauce was delicious. (I got it without the calamari, so I can't speak for those.) I can't speak for the pizza as I haven't tried it, but their salads are fresh, the appetizer mussel came with two huge wedges of focaccia that was plenty big for a meal for myself (mussel with linguine that the gentleman next to me was enjoying looked delish as well), and they have one of my favorite IPA on tap... a perfect place to treat myself.
