Heard so much about this place in food groups on FB, so my friends and I decided to check it out. Upon entering the building, you are immediately hit with a display of the Chinese BBQ items available (Roast Pork & Duck...they might offer more items but since they just opened, that's all I saw/noticed). It's a medium size business with about 6 booths, a long booth along the wall with a couple of table tops and 5 10 person tables. The service is ok from our waitress. The girl took my order (hot tea) and that was all, didn't ask if we wanted ice water or anything else. I was surprised initially, seeing that they offered not only an extensive menu, but they also offered dim sum (granted, a lot of the items they had listed were not available). We tried to order like 4 dishes off their dim sum menu and one item from their regular menu, they came back to say they did not have it. What we were able to get, was decent, seasoned properly and edible. I would be willing to come back and try other things, I wouldn't go out of my way to eat here. As previously mentioned, the service is fine when they would deliver the food, but after that, they don't pay much attention to you, even when it comes to getting some to go boxes and a bill. It is clean and simply decorated.

A hole-in-the-wall, family-owned restaurant serving very authentic and delicious Cantonese Chinese food. The service is friendly, quick, and welcoming, which makes the experience even better. Pricing is reasonable for the portion sizes, and the food tastes delicious and very flavorful. I really loved this place.

Best Cantonese food in AZ. We always come here with my grandma and there's not a single thing on the menu we don't like. Our all time favorites are the Peking duck, tofu beef egg drop soup, sweet and sour fried pork, and fried squid with Jalapeño. If you are a fan of calamari, the fried squid is like an Asian version of it! Service was average. Typical hole in the wall Chinese restaurant. It's in not the greatest part of town but it is delicious.

I've been in Phoenix for almost 30 years, and somehow, I only just found Ming Gee! This place is such a hidden gem. They've got a small dim sum menu--not a ton of options, but hey, it's better than nothing, and they were actually pretty tasty. If you're looking for a fancy spot with trendy decor, Ming Gee isn't it. But if what you want is just good, authentic Chinese food, you'll be happy here. Every dish we tried was delicious (check out the photos), and I'm so glad I finally gave it a shot. It's surprising to find this kind of quality Chinese food over on the west side--just judging by the outside, you'd never expect it. Plus, I went all out and ordered a roasted pig for Thanksgiving, so stay tuned if you're curious about how that turns out with Ming Gee's touch! Updated: OMG! My family and friends absolutely loved the roasted pig! It was such a fun and delicious experience! Who needs turkey when you have a 60-pound roasted pig for Thanksgiving?

Celebrated early Mother's Day here. Service was great! Very authentic food. The duck was our favorite, very moist and flavorful. Tried their fried egg with bitter melon. It was just as expected. The noodle dish with seafood and beef claypot rounded out the meal perfectly. Overall, very satisfying and delicious meal. Enjoy! Highly recommend!!

My family and I have been coming here for years, today we went to celebrate my sister's graduation,…read morethis is her favorite restaurant. Their house blend is the best sauce I've ever had, that alone is what keeps us coming back, I believe it is a Viet style Cajun sauce. We usually get the build your own combo, with crawfish, snow crab, and a few appetizers like french fries, garlic noodles, and onion rings. I believe they have changed management recently, or in the past few years. Although the sauce remains delicious, the food quality seems to be falling, and I see that they have a few food safety violations listed on their Yelp. The garlic noodles were swimming in the watery sauce, and the Cajun fries were not tossed, just sprinkled on top. The restaurant has never been that busy when we go, and there is usually is only one server doing all the hosting, food running, and waitressing. Ours seemed to be a little stressed today, and did not refill our drinks as much as we would've preferred, and forgot things like our salt and pepper. We will probably still keep coming just for that sauce, but looks like the restaurant has a few things to work out to bring back its former glory.

I picked the garlic and lemon pepper. well unfortunately they use the garlic that is already crushed and cut and not fresh garlic in their food and they overcooked the crab and if you do get the lobster tail, they give you 1 whole lobster tail cut in half for two people and they give you lots of shrimp, I mean a lot of shrimp compared to anything else in that seafood broil bag had they overcooked all the sea food and they used a lot of that crushed already diced garlic. That did not make the food Taste good at all. They put way too much garlic in it, and the food was impossible to eat because it was overcooked and it was rubbery. I was very disappointed on how much money I spent . if I knew in advance that they had a family emergency and was closing 1 hour early I would've waited and come back the next day and maybe the food would've have tasted a lot better. It was the lobster seafood boil for two couples, and I bought two sets for four couples. Just beware that if they're in a hurry, try not to be in a hurry to eat here. You probably get a better experience than what my family did. I've been to crab shacks before that has seafood boil and they were way better and not so stingy for the price they charge you. when I was there, there was only one family sitting at a table. The rest of the restaurant was empty. The waitress she was very friendly and very nice and very accommodating.

Only downside is that…read morefor some reason Apple maps was not accurate to finding the location and parking was a challenge as it is right on Roosevelt Row. However as soon as I found it and immediately after entering Pretty Penny I was transformed to the cutest little restaurant. I was greeted immediately and had made a reservation so even though my friend hadn't arrived yet, they sat me down. They instantly offered water and menus (food and cocktail). I noticed that the menu seemed very small and the dishes were shareable -- I don't eat meat so I was hoping my friend wouldn't mind sticking with fish and seafood (which she didn't). As soon as I got to my table there was the cutest sign that said welcome to Sarah Sherman and guest -- it was such an adorable and personal touch, I loved that! As soon as my friend got there we immediately both ordered the cold brew old fashioned -- we thought about the espresso martini but this just sounded too good to pass up -- and we were not disappointed! This drink was so tasty and strong. We immediately ordered the bread (sourdough boule) to soak up some of the alcohol as well as some oysters and the salsa. The oysters were so well spiced and were absolutely delicious. But the bread, the bread, the bread -- the server mentioned that it took almost 9 months to develop the bread recipe and it served. It was the best bread and butter that I think I have ever had! The salsa was good but probably was my least favorite of everything and it was still super yummy. We then moved on to the octopus tostadas. Sometimes octopus is not my fav -- it can be too chewy but this was so amazing and incredibly flavorful. It was starting to be my favorite dish until we ordered the Hamachi -- OMG!! Talk about a mouth orgasm-- both my friend and I were yummming it up -- but seriously this bite was so complex with different flavors coming up with every chew -- it has coriander candied peanuts, fermented pineapple, avocado, pickled fresno, toasted coconut and aji amarillo yogurt -- The server mentioned that this was the chef's least favorite dish which I totally do not understand because this was off the charts in my book. We also tried the earl gray whiskey sour, which was light and delicious, and ended with the shrimp toast and the espresso martini. By the way the toast on the shrimp toast was like a little fried dough triangle -- sooooo gooood! The martini was good but the cold brew old fashioned really stole the spotlight for me. Other details I loved that just elevated the experience: Purse hook (very important to me), the little trays for your utensils, metal coasters, incredibly attentive servers, fantastic music, great ambiance and the cutest was the penny they put on top of your check. So cute -- was not expecting such an enjoyable all around experience!! Will be back 1000%!!!

You can make a reservation online if you prefer dining in the main dining area, but visiting around this time on a Sunday, the restaurant usually isn't very crowded, and you can likely get seated right away. We opted to sit at the bar area so we could watch the games. Since the bar wasn't crowded, we were able to relax, socialize, have great conversations, and chat with the bartenders and servers throughout our visit. I believe our bartender/server was Jessica, who was working behind the bar that day, and she was absolutely AMAZING! She was friendly, attentive, and very knowledgeable. She even told us about some upcoming specials for next month and gave us all the details. I really appreciated that she took the time to make sure we knew what was coming up. The young lady working the oyster station was also very nice, and the young gentleman working in the bar area was friendly as well. Everyone was attentive and provided great service. We started with the half dozen oysters ($22) and upgraded the complimentary bread to garlic bread for an additional $5. Jessica even offered the upgrade, which I appreciated. We also ordered two large Swamp Things ($20 each). For lunch, they have a daily lunch special from 11 AM-3 PM. I ordered the grilled chicken Alfredo pasta, which comes with a slice of garlic bread. We also ordered the catfish with dirty rice. Everything came out hot, fresh, and accurate, and overall, everything was delicious! The only thing we would probably change next time is the dirty rice. It was a little too spicy for our taste, so we may opt for regular rice instead or ask if they can make the dirty rice a little less spicy. Tip: Sign up for their emails to stay updated on specials and promotions. During your birthday month, you may also receive a complimentary item and/or dessert, depending on the current promotion. We really enjoyed our visit and the overall atmosphere. I honestly wish they had more locations because I would definitely visit more often. Hopefully, they'll consider opening a location in the West Valley in the future! Overall, great food, great service, and a relaxing Sunday afternoon experience. We'll definitely be back!

The service was friendly and fast, everyone enjoyed their food, and the portions were HUGE. Everything tasted fresh, and my chicken was cooked perfectly. What stood out most was how seriously they took my seafood allergy. I was initially nervous about eating at a seafood restaurant, but the manager personally came to our table, asked about my reactions, and assured me that my food would be prepared in a separate area from the seafood. That level of care made me feel comfortable and truly valued as a guest. We also enjoyed the complimentary crackers and bread with a delicious buttery dip. They offer a military discount, too, which was a nice bonus! Between the food, generous portions, great service, and attention to my allergy, this was a wonderful experience. I definitely recommend giving them a try, and we will absolutely be back.
