Orange chicken (by itself) and a small side order of egg fried rice. Diet Coke and a Water to drink!
    Zachary H.

Love the old school look and feel of this place, made me feel like I walked into a Time Machine. Quiet, and very clean! The people are extremely nice and the service was excellent! I ordered the orange chicken with a small side of egg fried rice, and it was delicious! Washed it down with a Diet Coke and water. Reasonably priced and food was hot and fresh made to order!

Lunch specials; were more like dinner specials, as we had leftovers to bring home. Nicely-sized portions tucked away in a restaurant off the beaten path; the perverbial "hidden fishing hole" has been found!

    That's not chicken.

I'm sorry but I went looking for chicken fried rice and I swear that's not chicken it was gummy and I'm chunks just nasty I will never go back here again watch what your eating people !

Popo Platter & egg drop soup.

We came here on a Friday afternoon and had the Popo Platter, lunch specials #2pork & #9chicken. It was delicious. The sweet and sour pork was crispyyyyyy and the sauce was perfect. Everything was fried and crispy. The egg drop soup and flakes were also really good! My man said his was really good and he would come back. Definitely going to be back. It's almost a hidden spot with great food!

This place is so dope man, has never disappointed me ever, and they are so quick on the food. They give you lots of food too and the cost isn't bad whatsoever. I'm a regular here and ever since I tried their fried rice I've been just picking it up and it's always ready. Dine in is also quick as well. Give this place a chance and Im tellin you it won't disappoint. If I could give this place 8 stars I would.

Honey Walnut Shrimp- my absolute favorite

Although the outside looks sketchy, it's the best Chinese food I've found in Phoenix. I've tried ¡¡¡¡ Walnut Honey Shrimp: 5 Stars Broccoli Beef: 5 Stars Kung Pao: 4 Stars (would like some veggies) Vegetable Chow Mein: 4 Stars (needs a tad but salt)

    Peppered Beef!

For some reason, I was unable to check in. But nonetheless, here's my review: I first started going here about 8 years ago (B4Y), when one of my former students told me that her family owned the place. My favorite dishes are the Beef Fried Rice and the Peppered Beef. Of course, one has to have a Tsingtao beer to go with it. The onions and peppers are sauteed just right. They are cooked, but still have a bit of a crunch to them. The beef is quite tender (even the once in a great while, tough piece is still edible), and is spiced just right. The servings are plentiful. My waitress was someone I hadn't seen before (though it's been a long time since my last visit). She started to take my order, But the hostess knew what I have so she told the waitress for me. My only issue, was that after serving, she didn't stop by and ask how things were (I wonder if this is a trend now days?). A bit late, but here's the pictures.

The food is delicious and flavorful. The prices reasonable are reasonable, and the portions are large.

The food is consistently outstanding, and the warm, attentive service keep us coming back time and time again. On this visit, we ordered the sautéed whole lobster with green onions and ginger, beef lo mein, shrimp lo mein, walnut shrimp, and fried rice. Every dish was prepared beautifully and packed with flavor, but the lobster was truly divine. Perfectly cooked, incredibly tender, and infused with the aromatic flavors of fresh ginger and green onions, it was one of those dishes that leaves a lasting impression long after the meal is over. The beef and shrimp lo mein were equally delicious, with rich savory flavors and generous portions, while the walnut shrimp was perfectly crisp with a delicate sweetness that balanced the dish beautifully. The fried rice was the perfect complement to everything on the table. We also enjoyed a few sake bombers, which are hands down the best we've had anywhere. They are always perfectly prepared and have become a must-order whenever we visit. They pair wonderfully with the food and add an extra touch of fun to an already fantastic dining experience. What truly sets China Chili apart is its consistency. Whether it's your first visit or your hundredth, you can always count on exceptional food, attentive service, and genuine hospitality. The staff is welcoming, friendly, and always makes us feel like valued guests.

It's probably the fanciest Chinese restaurant I've been to in AZ. The lunch menu is excellent and quite impressive! There are 8 entrees to choose along with a side for only $20. What's crazy is that a full size seafood and wagyu beef belly jjampong is a side! They're regularly $24 so it's a crazy deal to get an additional entree!! We ordered seafood jjampong and wagyu beef jjampong as sides and genghis khan beef and chili garlic fried chicken as mains. The jjampong had that great umami taste without the oiliness that's unavoidable at other restaurants. The ingredients felt very premium and fresh. Ghengis khan beef pieces were very generous and tender with a savory sauce. Chili garlic chicken was a tad salty for me but had great crisp. Service was impeccable and one you'd expect from an upscale restaurant. I can't wait to go back to try other dishes from the lunch menu. I also want to try their happy hour that's available everyday from 4-7PM. All the food items are only $7 and variety looks amazing.

The water glasses looked like what you'd make a tequila sunrise in (tall & skinny). Obviously with ice that type of glass doesn't hold very much water. Getting a refill and we needed several, was worse than pulling teeth. We had the bartender as the only employee left working. One time I had to ask four times for a refill. We also ordered beer and a whisky drink so we weren't cheap. The food was pretty good. The ticket time on my entree was about 10 minutes but the other two at our table didn't get their food for almost half an hour. No consistency. I may try this place again much earlier in the night.

Gotta support local when you can I say! The menu is pretty basic and has all your typical options for Americanized Chinese food. Wanting to get something that had noodles in it, I opted for the combination #1 which has chow mein crispy noodles, pork fried rice, and two tempura shrimp. Quite a lot of food and for a very reasonable price! I think the combo was around $10. If you are a fan of bean sprouts, this is your place. The chow mein had a massive pile of beansprouts on top. The noodles were indeed crispy but they was such a meager portion compared to the beansprouts. The fried rice was pretty basic but also a generous portion and the two tempura shrimp had a nice crispy batter. I tried some of the eggroll too which is one of the most unique versions I've had since the super crispy outer layer was either a different preparation or different wrap material than I'm used to. The interior was made primarily of beansprouts too. Service was good. Our food was prepared fairly quickly.

**July 2026: Thursday Night**…read more We wanted to end our trip on a high note so we decided to try Lom Wong, a 2025 James Beard Award winner! The fact that the restaurant was very close to our Airbnb, and did not require a reservation also felt like a sign to make the visit. The spot is definitely trendy, and parking was tricky. Uber/Lyft would be my recommendation, but there is a paid parking garage down a couple of streets. We didn't need a reservation since we had a small party, but I would recommend if if you're coming with a party of four or more. We sat at the bar and ordered four dishes from different categories, which was a great way to sample the menu; though honestly I think we probably could have gotten away with just 3 dishes for a party of 2. We tried Yam Mamuang Boran (old-style green mango salad), Boo Pad Pong Garee (crab curry with ginger), Tom Yum Haeng Sen Yai (dry tom yum with wide noodles), and Naem Khao Tot (crispy rice salad with fermented pork sausage). The noodles and salad were definitely my favorite though everything was seasoned really well and incredibly flavorful. What I loved most was how thoughtfully prepared everything felt. The restaurant has a really sincere, home-style feel, and you can tell the food is rooted in tradition while still feeling special and elevated. It was the perfect final meal for our trip, and I'd definitely come back again.

The biggest disappointment was the Arai Kodai menu option, where the kitchen selects the dishes for you. Unfortunately, the selections felt pretty average. We were served Tom Kha Gai (a creamy coconut soup), Kaeng Phet Charindia (a red curry), Papaya Salad, and Scallop Crudo. While everything was well-executed, none of the dishes felt particularly unique or showcased why Lom Wong has such a great reputation. Honestly, it's the kind of meal I could find at a good neighborhood Thai restaurant. The other downside was the pacing. Being to Thailand many many times, this is nothing we have experienced. We had barely received our drinks and taken a single sip, when immediately every dish hit the table all at once. Instead of feeling like a curated dining experience, it felt rushed and a bit stressful trying to juggle multiple dishes plus our drink: Karaoke king (which would have been good if I had a second to enjoy it) Overall, it was still a nice meal and great atmosphere on par with other Thai restaurants. My advice: skip the chef's selection and order à la carte. Just be prepared for the food to come out quickly and all at once.
