You will be greeted when you walk in. Expect friendly conversation from the staff here. They cook breakfast, lunch and dinner. They will also grill a burger and fries or onion rings for you. The gasoline may not be the cheapest in town but it is quality and i never worry about bad gasoline here. This is one of my favorite convenience/country stores.

We shop here because of proximity and variety, but apparently no matter what name they've settled upon, we will end up with bad potatoes. That said, it's kind of awesome in there. It's huge and currently really clean (they've had some Health Dept. issues in the past). The meat department is CRAZY filled with product, at super cheap prices. There's a super-cool bakery that practically gives away baked goods at three for $1; and the dairy prices can't be matched, anywhere. It gets three stars because of the management changes (and subsequent changes in quality), and the frequent cleanliness issues (product not replaced and looking shitty; obvious freezer/refer issues/Health Dept. citations). The staff is at least friendlier now than they used to be (in that we were talked about to our faces with the assumption we couldn't understand Spanish) and the produce is currently better. We've seen a new HEB is going up across the street; we'll of course check it out, but will probably remain faithful to the Janky Potato.

I went in and was amazed at the prices and friendliness of staff at checkout. I also loved their deli section which has the 3 foot pork skins. I shopped there every few days as I needed items as I stayed within a mile and couldn't be happier. I make a special trip just to go here now to this store.
