I cannot resist this cute Dutch gift shop and small grocery shop in the heart of Old Towne Spring. The Krakelin cookies are our absolute fave that remind me of the cookies we had in Aruba this past summer while traveling with my parents. They also have other yummy sweets and Danish goodies. Service seems stern however very helpful. Parking is a little tight but offer street parking if arrive early. Absolutely will return. read more

I was attracted to this place by the exterior charm and decor so we decided to check out the Lil' Dutch Girl since it was the only place opened at the time. I decided to stop in because I wanted to gift a family member coming in from out of state some homemade candy. I honestly didn't have a great experience and unfortunately, this is not the first time it's happened in this shopping district. The charm of many of these shops stops at the door. I wasn't acknowledged when I walked in by either of the two elderly ladies even though there were no other customers at the shop. No biggie, definitely not a deal breaker. However, when I asked which fudge flavor was the most popular one of them responded from behind the counter without even looking up at me. Ruuudeee! You know that feeling when you go to a fast food joint and you can tell the cashier is annoyed or just about ready to end their shift? This is the exact same vibe I got here. Needless to say, it's not the customer service you'd expect from a small business like this that depends on foot traffic and yes, online reviews. Please hire some nice, friendly attendants who will be nice to ALL people who walk through the door. No one should walk into a shop like this and feel like they're a nuisance. Aisles and aisles of imported foods from the Netherlands and possibly other areas of Europe. They also have souvenirs, decor, and chocolates. We didn't try it all, but did leave with a large piece of rocky road fudge. The best fudge I've ever had! It was amazing. They also have a very nice and convenient outdoor seating area. I was visiting Old Spring on a trip and saw this shop while strolling down the street. It had a sign wooden sign with a Dutch girl painted on it. It has a deck out front with seating for dining. From the outside, it has an aged but loved visage. Inside it was set up as a very much mom and pop tourist shop. At the front was a fudge and homemade confectionary counter, then it was prepackaged Dutch goods, then bulk Dutch candies to scoop from. The back of the store was made up of gift shop items as well as authentic Dutch goods. There was a multitude of delft porcelain gifts and figurines and a whole wall of wooden clogs. I purchased some hand towels and small Dutch dolls, but know I will need to go back if I have a chance. So many of the Knick knacks and gift items reminded me of the decor and gifts and I used to see at my Oma and Opa's home and I would love to be able to see those sentimental items again. read more

Love this store, really it is a lovely place for everyone wherever you are from to enjoy some food, treats and souvenirs all the way from Holland! I really hate to leave such a bad review but it was that bad. When we walked in an older lady was counting up the receipts. Couldn't be bothered to say hello. Ok. We ordered fudge and a few chocolates from a woman who came up. Woman counting money never looked up. They were the most stale chocolates ever we threw them away. read more

This store is in Old Town Spring. If you have ever been to the Netherlands or you like particular items from there, you need to come shop here. They have delft blue items, like cups and decorations, wooden shoes and other Dutch novelty items. They also carry a wonderful selection of Dutch and European licorice. They have many other foods that are particular to the Netherlands. I get my Dutch food fix here. They also carry fudge and taffy. For those that read Dutch, they have some limited supply of actual Dutch books. read more

Just walking by this place you would completely miss out on the main selling point: aisles and aisles of delicious European candy. In addition to licorice they have marzipan, taffies, marshmallow and other packaged and branded items. There's also jars of chocolates to help yourself and fudge. This store is amazing! Has tons of dutch candies, cookies, shoes, trinkets, cheese, fudge, and much more. I love their fudge! Its rich & fresh. I did find hair in my fudge one time and well that was disappointing. The fudge is really delicious. I love the peanut butter chocolate and english toffee. I also love their ginger cookies. It's in a red bag and I love to eat it with my coffee. The ladies at the store is so nice and friendly. read more

I was desperate finding almond rings at Christmas time. Both Dutch stores in my neighborhood were sold out already. (Bellflower, CA). I went online to see what I could come up with. This wonderful store popped up and I am SO happy I found them. They were able to send out the almond rings and other traditional Christmas treats to my family, expediently and professionally, and with the BEST customer service ever. Being Dutch is one thing, and another if you are from Dutch descent. If licorice is your thing than you found the place! They have one of the biggest selection in this area. I love the Haring and Cokintjes! Not to forget the Indonesian food, yummy! They sell also kroketten and bitter ballen! Yes, Dutch fast food, just not as fattening as others.
