My wife has bought 2 Mini Cooper's from Mini of Murray. When her battery died she got a jump and went to Mini to get help. It was 3:30 in the afternoon. They said they couldn't help her and to make an appointment. Her battery was dead and needed her vehicle. She went to Hillside Tire and they ordered her a battery and installed it. She called Mini to make an appointment for service afterwards and got the earliest appointment available one a week later. When she got there they told her that the battery was under warranty and would of gotten replaced for free. She said why didn't you tell me that when I came by last week? It cost me $400.00 to replace. Mini Cooper of Murray needs to learn how to take care of their loyal customers. We may not buy our next Mini Cooper from Murray. read more

This place sucks Scheduled an appointment at MINI of Murray a week ago to get an Open Recall taken care of on my wife's Mini. At first I was told we would get a loaner car, and then they changed their minds. So we both took the day off of work to drive separately from Ogden to Murray (about an hour drive each direction in the snow) . Dropped the car off and waited 5 hours, just for them to tell us at the end of the window "We don't have the parts you need, come pick up your car" Nothing to make it right at all. And then was told the parts are on back order and no eta (at least a month out). So why were we even there? Why did we both take the day off of work? Why did they have the car 5 hours when it probably took less than 1 to notice they didn't have the parts? Why did they schedule me and waste my time and money if they didn't even have / or have the ability to get the parts? Where do I even begin. My family and I recently bought a traded in car that was brought to this business and supposedly had their mechanic look at the car and identify and solve any issues that would prevent it from being sold. This was not the case. After taking the car to our own mechanic, they found that all four tires were completely rotted, and that the axel was unusable. After taking this to MINI, they did offer a minor discount on the car's overall price. A discount not even close to the overall total needed to be spent to get the car to their own standards. I ended up purchasing the vehicle anyway, because the day before, Devin called me (while I was at work, he knew this), and told me that I needed to put down $1000 on the car to hold it because some people in Pleasant Grove wanted it driven down the next day to purchase. Now, immediately after Christmas, they message me and inform me that the filter for my oil and the factory oil itself had JUST arrived. I have owned the car for 5 entire days before they bothered to let me know that they lied to me, and that the car did not get an oil change as promised. And all this after they didn't run my card in the dealership and had to send me an email to pay for the car hours after I left the lot with it. Unprofessional is the nicest way I can describe this place. At least I got a tiny bag of beef jerky out of it. read more

had my mini in service to do a recall required for the car to function properly. was told it would take a day. They had my car for 8 days. The issue is when I got it back the radio no longer worked. They ignored my calls and texts and did nothing even though it worked fine until they had it. Worst than that it was making a weird noise from the front of the car.it took a few days to figure out the noise was the wheel lug bolts rattling and falling out on both front wheels. Yes it could have killed my wife or children it was that bad They had removed the wheels when do an inspection trying to charge me over 1200 dollars to replace some light bulbs. I hope it was only accidental The bolts were not even hand tight and their are only 4 on each wheel although they are the only mini dealer in the area i don't think I will return there. read more

This bad review will stay up until the issues are resolved, if ever. We have had MANY issues with this dealership. The car we purchased from them had supposedly had thousands of dollars of work done to it before we purchased it. They said it was 100% good. The check engine light came on as we drove off the lot on purchase day. Then after spending weeks in the shop at this dealership, we finally got it back. They had put over 700 miles on the car while they were "working on the car". They had many excuses of how or why this could have happened, ranging from the paper work being wrong to their service guys have to drive it to see how it's running. Either way, it's unacceptable to put hundreds of miles on someone's car. After deliberating for days on how our car had almost 1000 miles put on it while in the shop we finally agreed to them giving us free oil changes and services for a number of years. Here we are today, after getting our first oil change done 10/2/2024 (we made an appointment for the oil change a week in advance, at their convenience, at 9:30 am and told them we were just waiting since it's just an oil change and a 30 min drive from our home- we ended up waiting 4 hours for the oil change while other people came and left getting different & similar services) now... before we could figure out what was going on...the car leaked all of its oil out on our driveway and in our garage. They obviously did a very poor job at a simple oil change. The mechanics & managers here are terrible at communication, doing the work, and taking care of their customers. The service manager is Rusty, who we have been working with since day 1 and we are far from impressed. Yesterday Rusty told us they would tow the car back into the shop today (Saturday) but he failed to mention they are closed for service on Saturdays. Rusty did not get the car towed, he did not leave us the loner car as promised, he did not let the sales manger know any info so we are still stuck with an undrivable car, leaking oil all over our driveway and no car to get to where we need to go and do while Rusty is having his Saturday off. All of these issues are preventable by communication, honesty, doing your job right the first time. We recommend Mini Of Murray get their $hit together and stop making excuses for bad workmanship, bad communication, and bad management. After working with Mini Of Murray for months and months on issue after issue with a car we purchased from them. I am doing what I should have done long before, write this review. I brought my 2015 Mini Cooper Countryman S to the service department last week and I was amazed by the customer service! I walked in and was pleasantly greeted by Zimran Anwar. He had the biggest smile on his face and was so nice and friendly to me. My appointment was for an annual oil change and he informed me that it's probably time for a new engine air filter too. I am very appreciative that he mentioned this because none of the other Mini Cooper dealerships had ever told me about this. I have been driving with the original air filter for 61,000 miles. It was a really good price to pay the service department to replace the air filter for me, however I decided to purchase an air filter from the Parts Department and install it myself. If you watch a YouTube video and have a couple of tools, it's very easy to change the engine air filter on your own. The parts department sells the filters for $60. I received an oil change and a free inspection of my vehicle. For the first time in 7 years, my car needed service. The service staff sent me a text and an email with video footage. The drive belt was cracked. I decided to pay them to replace my drive belt for me. I feel very confident in their work and I was very impressed with the price. I feel that the parts and service are worth the money. I waited for my vehicle in the lounge. And I was so entertained watching television and indulging on unlimited refrigerated bottled waters, canned sodas, unlimited coffee and even snacks!!! There was a huge assortment of snacks to choose from including but not limited to peanut snack bars, trail mix bars, nature valley granola bars and more! Every employee that walked into the lounge to refill their water bottle greeted me and was so friendly and cheerful. I am super impressed with being treated like such a valuable customer. I want to tell you more about Zimran Anwar. He is exceptional. He really goes above and beyond and is really good at his job. I was even impressed with the pen that he handed me to sign the documents. I loved the fancy pen so much that Zimran gave me the pen! I thought that was such a nice gesture and it definitely means that I will be a loyal customer. They treat you like royalty here!!! Zimran is just so pleasant and personable. He is very professional, thorough and an excellent communicator. The staff at Mini of Murray even washed my car for me and it came out sparkling!!! That alone makes me want to go back to service. A few days after my service appointment, I even received a very personalized email from Zimran. That stuck out to me the most. I am so grateful for his attention to detail and he really does care about the vehicle and the customer. I also received a survey from Mini USA and the Service Department received 10s across the board and YES to all the questions. I am so grateful for such an amazing experience at Mini of Murray!!! It was actually a super fun time hanging out in the comfy lounge, watching the TV show Friends, eating lots of snacks and drinking sodas. I actually can't wait to go back to this dealership to get my car serviced again. I trust them with my car and seriously ask for Zimran Anwar, he will help you and you will be super impressed and happy with his outstanding customer service skills! I had my 2016 Mini Cooper Countryman serviced at Murray Mini Cooper for an oil change, which they did just fine. But they wanted to replace my water pump and pulley for $650+ because "there were surface cracks" on the water pump pulley. And they wanted to replace my license plate bulbs for $95 because they were burnt out. I've owned 4 Mini Coopers; surface cracks on the water pump pulley are expected; "Surface cracks (1) form on the drive pulley over time. These cracks are normal and have no effect on the integrity of the friction surface..." https://static.nhtsa.gov/odi/tsbs/2015/MC-10147906-9999.pdf And I bought new license plate bulbs at Napa for $4, popped out the license plate lamps with a pocket knife, and swapped out the bulbs in 5 minutes. Never going back. I had the worst experience yet at Mini Cooper. I have never felt so taken advantage of at a mechanic until now. I have been going to the Mini Cooper dealership since I bought my Mini back in 2020, but I am never going back for maintenance. The staff is friendly, however when I receive my car back, it's either dirty (even though they tell me it's been washed) and/or with a new issue. I took it in to have it inspected for a smell coming through the vents, when I got my car back the vent was no longer working and the smell was still an issue, I waited to have it checked at the same time as my oil change as it was coming due soon. When I took it in and expressed my concerns they told me I would have to pay $150 for an estimate of the vent. They called me back telling me that all the repairs they found would be $7,950, the the vent issue alone is $4,956. I then got a call from the sales rep wanting to sell me a 2023 Mini Copper SE in which the price was 37K and the value ran at 32K, plus my 2015 they were only going to give 6K when it's worth 15K. I told them to do the oil change but nothing else. When they gave me my Mini back, they didn't even bother to fill up the tires, they were close to being flat, with one being at 8PSI. I took it to a local mechanic and they told me that the fix for the vent would be $3K with them. They also informed me that while they were inspecting the battery that cables were put back not secured almost like Mini of Murray just in a rush threw them back. Zimran, the service advisor was also talking really fast when giving me quotes. I thought I had heard $600 at one point not $6K, when I called him to confirm what the sales rep was saying he was laughing at the miss understanding. I wish I never trusted this company. read more

There is not enough space to explain how horrible my experience was.. Three Times in a row I had to take my E-Mini to this inept place to have them tell me their is nothing wrong.. Only to leave and have my car almost run out of battery within 5 miles of the dealership!! The last time I left it there for 2 months in hope that they would come up with a diagnosis..NOPE!! My husband flew out to pick up my car this time.. and sure enough...the same thing happened. "We "actually figured out what was going on!!! The E-drive battery was no longer re-charging . We are in a dilemma, as the extra warranty I purchased requires that I take the car to a "Certified Mini Dealership".. The closest one is in Murray, UT.. I would rather Drive It Off A Cliff than go back there!!! ( It did cross our minds.. maybe it is a very expensive repair and the company does not want to cover it?) I did reach out to Mini Corporation with Photos and a clear explanation of exactly what had happened THREE times, Their reply was.. there is nothing wrong with your Mini, you must go pick it up or we will charge you a storage fee!! How I wish I could give them negative 5 stars. I hate this service department. Had my car towed in because it would t start. They tried to tell me I ran out of gas. They couldn't diagnose the problem so I had to take my car back and wait until it wouldn't start again. It was only 3 weeks till I had to toe it again. This time they said it was the ignition something and battery failure. My car is 2 yrs old. The battery failure was My fault, 1st because I didn't turn my car off correctly. When that excuse didn't wash, they told me I didn't drive enough.. battery replacement is $850. Last week I bought my car in for air in a tire. Their service door closed on my car. They refused to repair my damaged roof correctly. After speaking with an attorney, it's more expensive to sue them than to repair the car properly myself. It's sad that I will have to sell a car I love because I can not tolerate the incompetence of the service department. My advice is not buy a car when there is only one dealer read more

I live out of state but have a condo in Utah and I am ONLY going to bring my MINI to this dealership for service from now on. Seriously. I took my MINI into the Vegas dealership last month because I was due for an oil change and I had an issue with a back taillight malfunction. I took the car in and left it all day. Picked the car up and the very next day, I got the warning light about the taillight again. So I was planning a visit to Utah and figured I'd make an appointment at the local MINI to have them look at the taillight. Let me tell you that the service in Murray is NIGHT AND DAY different from the incompetent yahoos who run the Las Vegas MINI service department. First, I was greeted with a smile by complete professionals. Mike was my service adviser and he took careful notes and listened to all my concerns (I also was having issues getting my iPod to play through my MINI connected system). They had no loaner cars for the day (bummer) so I made myself comfortable at their loft work space area. Bring your laptop, you can set up for the day! The lounge area also has free Goldfish crackers, coffee, and a fridge stocked with complimentary cans of soda. There's a t.v. or course, and clean restrooms. It took a couple of hours but the service department fixed everything for me! They said that there was a melted wire in the taillight that hadn't been fixed. Guess the folks in Vegas didn't want to bother fixing it. And here's what made me SO ANGRY -- turns out the Vegas MINI service department DID NOT CHANGE MY OIL, so the Murray guys did it for me! OMG! I just can't express how happy and pleased I am with the service and care I received at MINI of Murray. I will never take my car anywhere else. I am serious. I will make the 6 hour drive just to come here. Thanks guys! read more

I have taken my min to the dealership since I bought it in 2012. I never had issues until Zimran started working in Murray a few years ago. I was charged $120 for a vehicle check, which was never performed. The manager refunded me. I had items stolen from my vehicle. My vehicle was driven over 50 miles while at the dealership. I checked the meter this time, because I believe it occurred the year before. Since Zimran has worked there, the turnover has been incredible! He was the only one left, so they made him manager, but can't even put a request in for a scanner code reader. My alarm wasn't working properly, & they're too incapable to figure out why. After looking at the book, there is a sensor that needs to be replaced, but they can't even tell me where it is located. I considered driving to Idaho Mini for service, but it's too far. They replaced my front windshield without using a sealer. Parts are missing. The is absolutely a 3rd world at this dealer now. They didn't call me for a week just for new tires and an oil change. It's took 1.5 weeks to get my car back the first time. This is unacceptable, and I hope they enjoyed taking my car for a joy ride. That will be their last one in my car. I am leaving to England w/my mini. They recommend services, which are completely unnecessary & overcharge. I would feel very bad for anyone who got the warrantee, which covers service. They're are not just incompetent, they also steal from their clients. At least I still have my kidneys after bringing my car here, at least for now. Your money, your vote! read more

I had my mom's car brought in for a non-starting battery, and figured I would get the oil changed while it was there. The service rep called and asked if I wanted to do an engine air filter replacement, and I said no (car is low miles, just worried about old oil). The next day, someone from the dealership called my mom and asked her if she wanted to replace the engine air filter. She agreed. Before asking a second time, the dealer should have explained that the person who dropped the car off refused that service. Easy way to make $150 I guess. I will be going back to Burt Brothers. I had a scheduled appointment for a tire swap with an estimated 2 1/2 hour wait, so I stayed and did work. At the four hour mark I went up and asked for a new time frame and they said an additional 45min-1hour. I do not mind that they got the time estimate wrong. But I do mind that no one thought to tell me about the additional 3 hours of waiting. This miscommunication and lack of responsibility has happened the last 4 times I have gone in. read more

Unfortunately this is the only dealership in UT! So disappointed! I recently relocated from CA to UT, having issues with my mini I needed to get it serviced. I was shocked to find out this is the only dealership to sevice all of Utah, Wyoming and Idaho. The closest 2nd location is in Vegas and Colorado. Because this is the only location, they will not roll out the red carpet for you like in CA. No loaner car unless you schedule in advance. They also charge a diagnostic on top of repair. Other dealers will waive the diagnostic fee if repaired. In addition, They had my car for a week, no loaner. Finally repaired and two days later my engine light came on again. Took it back and was charged again for another diagnostic! If you have a Mini in Utah, no longer under warranty, find a reputable mechanic. Dont waste your time. read more

These guys stayed after hours to do an emergency repair on my MINI while traveling across the country. We showed up 5 minutes before Bobby in Service was headed out the door. He gave the engine a quick listen, put the car up on a lift, and within 3 minutes had identified a bad water pump pulley. He offered to replace it on the spot and got us back on the road within an hour. They could have told me to come back in the morning, but instead, they showed empathy and chose to help us out. Had to be at work at 2:00pm today, so I scheduled my oil change for 8:00am, thinking this would be adequate time for an oil change (I'd have to leave at 1:30 to get to work). Wrong! I got here at 7:45am and they still aren't done. This is terribly aggravating because the only reason I had this morning off is because of the holiday, I work every weekday from 6am-3pm (or 7pm) and they won't let you schedule an appointment after 1:45pm and they aren't open on Saturdays. Now they're telling my my drive belt needs replaced but when am I going to have time for that????? I have to request a day off from work 2 months in advance, do I have to request and entire day off work and lose pay to get my car serviced? read more

Buying a car can be a tortuous experience as many of you know! However, at MINI of Murray, the car buying experience is an absolute joy! I have worked with Tony on a couple of purchases in the past. Scott Hixon is the manager and as a team they make buying a car fun and easy. They also made it easy to have all of the accessories installed like the tinting, roof rack with the bike rack. They definitely added to the look of the car too. Of course MINI's are fun to drive and are built with the highest quality materials available......and it is a BMW to boot! The service dept is top notch too. They are always ready to top off fluids or check on whatever may appear to be an issue. I cannot recommend a dealer more than I can MINI of Murray. read more

They have a stellar reputation, but does it matter when your mini is handed back to you broken with mounting bills? The staff has significantly changed, and it became apparent very painfully for us this week. Our check engine light came on, we ran an OBD at home and saw it was related to fuel. Knowing there's a warranty on the high pressure fuel, we brought it to Mini of Murray. They said we'd be charged $130 to assess our car but it would be refunded if it was the high pressure fuel system. They identified it was the low pressure fuel system failing and gave us a quote of over $700 (we received quote for $350 from a reputable mini mechanic locally but because it was towed there, we went forward). They also quoted our aux port to be fixed for around $150. We received a call back days later the aux would cost $300....no thanks and glad to know we can't trust their bids. We pick up our car after they "fixed it" (remember we paid $130 for an assessment too). Check engine light came on within minutes of driving it. This time it's the high pressure fuel system....as we originally suspected, AND now magically our fuel gauge is now needing replacement (we have documentation that it was recently checked and in good order). Not only will they not refund the $130 assessment because they see it as two separate incidences. I assure you, picking up your car and having the check engine light come on because apparently their team are NOT qualified mini mechanics with skills, but rely on a simple computer read out and YET they somehow feel justified in charging their customers $130. And now there's a 3rd issue identified that's another $200 once we moved forward with the last set of repairs. DO NOT TRUST this business. Cannot trust their quotes. Cannot trust your car will be fixed. No customer service. Staff member speaking to us indicated the manager was unbending and not wanting to talk through our concerns. read more

MINI of Murray is a great dealership. Of course, they are the only MINI dealer within a few hundred miles so if you want one and live in SLC you're pretty much going to them. The sales experience was the best I've ever had buying a car. Tony is the guy you want. Likable, friendly, knowledgeable (extremely), honest, and reachable. What more could you ask for? I haven't had to use the service department much (it's a new car after all) but I have had to bring the MINI in for some minor issues. The staff has been polite, friendly, and as helpful as possible. They recently moved into a new building right next to the dumpy BMW dealership they were in. Smart move. The new place is pretty cool. If you've never driven a MINI then do yourself a favor and go test drive one. Impossible not to smile and have fun inside of one. From the start, I've had a great experience with the staff at Mini of Murray. I wish they were closer to me, but that's not their fault (unless the world is full of huge conspiracies all targeted to make my life difficult--but that's for another post). I was pleased with the constant contact and updates they provided when I first ordered my Countryman, and recently when I brought it in for its first service, I was pleasantly surprised by customer service that went above and beyond -- thanks to Mali (I still owe you cupcakes, I know). Sales staff that were closing up for the night could have easily kept on with their business as I was dropping off my car, and I would have thought nothing of it. Instead, they invited me in to keep warm, and asked when my ride would arrive. Upon informing them I was going to walk to the train to ride home, they didn't miss a bit, offering me a lift over to the station, and had I been heading north, the salesman (I wish I could remember his name now, Ty or something close to that I think--has an old mini and a BMW) would have given me a lift all the way home. The following day, Jason in the service department was punctual in giving me a call to update me on my servicing, and when I called to ask if he'd also do an inspection, he confirmed that I'd need one, and then without a hitch, added it in and got it done for me. I don't know if they were busy or not, but they acted like I was the only customer they had that day. I don't expect that kind of red carpet action all the time, but I was really impressed with their willingness to help me get and keep my car running well. read more

Since moving to the new building, it seems like the Mini of Murray service department has stepped up their game. The techs are all knowledgeable, and if you have to sit and wait, the amenities are nice. That said, it's tough to get an appointment. They don't have a person taking appointments any more, they recommend that you schedule it online, but then they have to confirm the appointment by phone, and if you play phone tag on that, you may not get your choice of time slot. Also, I had to leave my care there for several days, and I was told they would try to get me a loaner, but that never materialized. read more

Talk about a no hassle, no games, no stress experience. I just bought a 2012 2-Door Mini-Cooper and they were the best! They had all the reports including car-fax available for me to review , as well as the list of items they serviced prior to even listing the car. These guys were top notch but major kudos to Jonathan(sales), Tony Poulson(sales), and Parry(sales manager) for making my experience so seamless and fun! So.... I walked through past several people and no one greeted me. I walked from one end to the other. I saw people on their phones texting and I saw others just on the computer. I didn't see any clients. They must have been super busy with whatever they were doing to talk to me. I didn't stand over a car and slobber on it, but I did peruse a bit. Made me laugh what they put in those minis. Haha. Cute cars and probably not for me. Usually I'm not into sales people bothering me but I was curious about them. Needless to say they were all (5 or so) too busy to talk to me so... no good ratings. read more

This is a really top rate dealership! I found myself stranded in SLC with the "check engine" light glowering at me ..... just before my planned departure for San Francisco. On a weekend, of course ...... ! The service guys fit me in on a Saturday morning, hooked up the diagnostic computer, and within an hour I was on my way with a brand new high-pressure fuel pump. The best part: totally covered by the MINI extended warranty. These folks are fast, friendly, and totally professional! Highly recommended!! read more
