Since both the Pleasant Grove and Murray BMW locations work together, I will leave this review under both. John has great personality, is attentive and professional. It is refreshing to see a sales associate who treats the customer like the requests they are making aren't crazy or sensational. John proves that simply being a newer associate doesn't place you behind in terms of the quality of the experience you can provide. I recently purchased a beautiful X3 from Mr. Kobe Apponsah. My original reason for stopping by the BMW of Murray dealership was to look at two vehicles, but wasn't set on buying on just yet. The one I was most interested in was at the Pleasant Grove location, however, Kobe had me drive the same model and offered to bring the other down. My top two reasons for making the purchasing a new vehicle are: 1) The car is goregous, drives amazing, and has all the features I've wanted for a long time. I was able to add some customized features that make me feel like it is one of a kind. 2) Kobe was accomodating, kind, and was not pushy. He had the model I wanted brought down from Pleaseant Grove and sent a video prior to me coming back. I had 100+ questions about the model I wanted most, and some of the other models that caught my eye. As a relatively indecisive person, Kobe made the purchase simple and memorable. Honorable mention: Working with Caden was helpful and I appreciated his transparency. I had a lot of questions about different aspects of the purchse additions like extending the warranty, and he provided detailed responses. Val was also top notch! She was very kind and without even trying, made me feel at ease with some of the additions I requested. The waiting areas are nice and the drink and snack options are excellent. This is the most inept BMW dealer I've been to across the country. Did a recall on one of my cars related to VANOS, when I took the car in there was no check engine light. When I picked it up it had a check engine light and vacuum leak. Was told it needed a new a valve cover and cam sensors. Did the new valve cover and cam sensor. Light came tight back on. Took it in and was told it needed new VAMOS assembly and cams. Took it to another BMW specialist and they found I didn't need anything I had been sold but the BMW if Murray tech had reassembled the top end out of timing. I'm extremely disappointed with BMW of Murray and their lack of integrity. I paid upfront for a 3-year oil change package that was supposed to cover my vehicle for the full term. When I came in for my final oil change -- just a few days past the end of the plan -- they refused to honor it. No discussion, no flexibility, just "policy." I even offered to pay for another very expensive service they "recommended" my car needed that day if they would simply honor what I already paid for. Manager Dave Hansen personally declined to do anything about it. He had every opportunity to do the right thing and show that customer relationships matter, but instead chose to hide behind fine print and send me on my way. That's not how a premium brand should operate. BMW of Murray presents itself as a high-end dealership, but once they have your money, the service and accountability disappear. They'd rather lose a loyal customer than make a simple gesture of good faith. If you value honesty, fairness, and basic respect for your business, I strongly recommend avoiding BMW of Murray. If you want bad service go to the one in pleasant grove, they'll hook you up with that for sure. If you want good, honest and straight to point service with no games, bring your car here. The service advisors will treat you better than your entitled a## deserves to be treated, every time. The prices may drive some people away, as it is BMW after all and no one said it'd be cheap, great things come at a great price. If what you're looking for is someone who has no idea what they're doing with your vehicle, and charges cheap prices, take your car somewhere else. My experiences with BMW Pleasant Grove and Murray have been consistently disappointing. After each service, warning lights or display issues keep returning within days, leading to costly rework. On a particular visit, I was quoted $5,000 for a monitor/display repair, which I argued should be covered by warranty. A manager later inspected at my home and found the monitor issue could be resolved without that replacement. I was spoken to rudely by a service advisor (a man named Johnathan Brazilian) during a call, which was unprofessional and unacceptable. Between the behavior and the recurring, high bills, I do not trust the service I'm receiving at Pleasant Grove. I've had a similar pattern at BMW Murray: a part was changed but did not fix the problem, and an alignment was damaged after service, costing me $250 plus tax. I was also charged for extra loaner mileage, which I don't believe I should owe given the service disruption. With both locations under the same ownership, it feels like a broader issue with how service and billing are handled. I want to share some feedback on my recent experience with the parts department at BMW of Murrray. Before I begin, let me tell you a little about myself, I have owned over 30 BMW's in my life and have purchased 2 BMW's from your dealership, one as recently as 2 weeks ago a brand new 2025 X5. Today I went to your dealership to buy brakes for my 2020 330 (purchased from your dealership). I am very knowledgeable on BMW parts etc and knew what the pricing should be. MRSP for the brakes is $163.15 at every BMW dealership I checked with and the actual sales prices vary from $97 to $115. I can share documentation on these prices. I came to your dealership today to buy the brakes and was quoted around $239 and was told that was list price. Of course I was very surprised and questioned the parts person on this price and he defended it even after I shared proof of the actual prices I have seen. I asked to speak with a manager but he said none was available. He went in the back and he came back out and I said you know what I will just order them from another dealership at the much lower price and he then went on to say that he could sell them "at list price of $163.15". I was obviously confused on why he called that list price when he previously said $239 was the list price. One other comment that part's person did say, he didn't understand why I was so upset since he gave me a good price. He didn't give me a good price, he gave me the price of MSRP after I complained about the inflated price. Had I not been a knowledgeable shopper I would have been taken advantage of. After much back and forth I bought the brakes as I needed to do them today, however I still need to question why you are selling parts above BMW's MSRP. I had a similar experience a week ago when I wanted to buy roof racks for the X5. Your price was in the neighborhood of $500 and i had them shipped from my previous dealership in Dallas for around $350. I would appreciate you personally giving me a call to discuss my experience with the parts department and why you are selling parts for above MSRP compared to every other dealership I check with. I came here for a repair on my BMW. It was for a recall, and I was scheduled for an appointment. The process went very smooth. I do like that they have Saturday appointments which makes it really convenient for those who can't get there during the work week. They have a really nice area upstairs where you can do work, read a book or just watch TV. They even have plenty of snacks, a coffee machine and drinks. Paid a bit over 6,000 to wrap my vehicle. There was some bubbling on both of my side mirrors way after the time it takes to seal, and it's hot red and black! It's absolutely needed unless you want your paint destroyed. It was wrapped originally but when I gave it back to them to fix bubbles on my side mirror they decided not to redo the black part, why? It was originally there! They only did the red and it's still off! It's still bubbling and causing issues. I wanted 100% perfect protection like any place does. Wrapped wrong! There were some simple steps that could've been taken to make sure things never were harmed and not putting stuff back on under warranty is just bizarre. It is part of the paint! I have a couple of spots my paint is gone! If it's not wrapped correctly and it bubbles, then dirt gets underneath it and scratches the paint up to the point where it actually causes more damage, so it has to be done perfect! Now I have to repaint/repair that . That defeated the whole purpose of doing this. Especially when I brought it back to them to fix and instead they didn't finish the job! I guess it was just too difficult for them to do it right. I ordered Suntech ultra,but I don't believe that's what's on it! Seems more like a regular unknown ceramic coating. Which is really irritating because the Suntech ultra is better for many reasons. When they took off my emblems, they were supposed to order them and replace them. That never happened. Instead of throwing them away because they're no longer useful. They were all over in different places in my new car! I order them myself and had them put on. It's part of the warranty to do these things, yet every time I try to contact someone I get put on hold or no answers I am very nice. I am now frustrated. They wrapper our Defender that's Charcole/black better! The red and black was way more important! I also had them do window tinting and the front windshield was supposed to be UV protectant. It still gets way hotter than it should. I don't know what they did. I just feel like they charged me for high-end products and then put on whatever. I'm going to take it to the best guys I know in Salt Lake who did my 911 turboS. I want them to prove what it is on my suv. I had a collision center tell me it is not Suntek ultra! It's not what I paid for on my documentation and warranty? it's a ceramic coating? No way! It's still under warranty and could be done right but I don't think I'll ever get a hold of anyone. read more

My experience purchasing a pre-owned Subaru Forester with BMW of Murray accompanied by the friendly and personable salesman Kaiden Timms as follows: I don't have a ton of auto savvy but I am an engineer so I examined the car as critically as I could while ticking off my mental checklist. The first thing that jumped out to me was the corroded battery when I popped the hood to check out the engine. This was further confirmed when it sputtered on ignition the first time and we had to jump-start the car to get it running. I also found that the trunk door seized up and only opened halfway when I pressed the button on the car key. The struts looked rusted. I crawled underneath the carriage of the car to look for leaks and broken seals. Kaiden ensured me, "I can promise you, our shop mechanics are really good. If there were any problems, they would've caught it in their inspection." I asked for them to provide a new battery and replace the trunk struts. He agreed to it for the sake of the sale. The test drive went fine. I swerved hard back and forth to check the tightness of the alignment on the steering wheel. Kaiden took my skeptical attitude and antics in good stride. I had prepared myself so thoroughly to find some kind of mechanical failure within this car, that I was not prepared for the wonkiness of the financing process that would follow. I sat down and Kaiden handed me a sheet with the vehicle price, downpayment options of $1K to $5K and monthly options of 48, 60 and 72 months. The interest rate was set at 8.99%. I was taken aback. They hadn't even run my credit yet and I knew I would qualify for a more competitive rate if they had. He explained to me that their financing was in-house and that it was the standard rate. I told Kaiden that I was willing to take a loan of 24 months at higher payments if we could knock down that percentile. He told me he'd speak with his manager. He came back with another sheet of paper that had a 9.12% interest rate from First Security Bank for comparison's sake of an outside institution. I was still puzzled. They still hadn't run a credit check on me yet. These numbers seemed arbitrary. I could deal with a shoddy interest rate if only for a limited amount of time. This just meant a higher downpayment. I told him I wanted to put down $12K. He responded to me that their company had a, 'downpayment cap,' of $5K. This confused me as well. I've never heard of such a thing. I examined the fees and found one that was about $2380 for, 'Loss Stop.' I asked what it was. "Gap Protection." I asked if it was required. He said no. I crossed it off immediately. He went line by line to explain that the other fees were mandatory. I still hated that interest rate. Because the financing aspect was such a nightmare, I ended up purchasing the car out of pocket. Later, I would come to discover that had I simply went to the BMW of Murray website and purchased the car through their portal, a 12K downpayment would have been accepted and that my credit score would've presented me with a 6.24% interest rate, way better than what I was offered on-site. They provided a new battery. The struts weren't replaced because they found that the height of the trunk opening was, "incorrectly electronically programmed," and that would be the resolution. When I picked up the car and tested it, it stalled the first time and only on the second attempt, it opened smoothly. That's fine, it wasn't going to be a dealbreaker. I took the car to Mark Miller Subaru to perform maintenance and a thorough inspection. They discovered that the car was leaking transmission fluid. There was a hole in the transmission pan. Luckily, it was still covered under a manufacturer warranty, so they fixed it without adding it to the repair bill. My experience was 3.5 - 4 stars, but for specific reasons that doesn't apply to everyone. 1) I am privileged enough to have been able to self-finance. If I couldn't? That would've been a 2 star experience having wasted my time with a bizarre interest rate. 2) The hole leaking transmission fluid is only forgivable because I had limited my driving of the car to two days before getting it checked out for a second opinion and it was still under manufacturer's warranty. That's insanely dangerous. Ultimately, I'm happy with the car itself. Kaiden had a good vibe. I like him very much. He did seem a little green, but well-intentioned. There was good follow-through on promised fixes on Service's end. However, financing was a mess. It was an experience I wanted to escape, and I could only NOPE my way out of it with a full payment. The fees that were slid in without my requesting them, I assume is an industry standard practice. I'm just happy I had the wherewithall to ask. If I were to do it again, I would test drive the car with a salesman and log straight onto the website to purchase it without going through the financing process on-site. I paid $262 for a pre-purchase inspection which came back clean with the recommendation to purchase the vehicle. After purchasing the vehicle based on this inspection, my local BMW identified its windshield was aftermarket, installed incorrectly, and had broken brackets from the install resulting in a $4000 repair. My dealer was surprised this was not caught during the pre-purchase inspection at BMW Murray, as they stated this is a well known issue and that all BMW dealers check for aftermarket parts during a PPI - specifically third party windshields due to how common this issue is. Once I contacted the Service Manager at BMW Murray for support, I was rudely told that I "needed to specifically itemize every item on the vehicle I wanted to be inspected", and that I should not expect them to identify aftermarket parts. When I explained this deviated from other dealers I've spoken with, and how absurd it is that they expect a customer to tell BMW what to inspect - I was rudely hung up on. I paid for a comprehensive pre-purchase inspection to identify these exact kinds of issues and prevent costly repairs.. and they were clearly overlooked due to a poor quality and rushed inspection. I will continue to publicize this experience and escalate the matter via all available avenues due to the incredibly poor inspection and the sheer lack of accountability of management. read more

This review is from an experience severa months prior but it still bugs me. I went in with the intention beforehand of looking for a specific model F10. I had made this very clear beforehand going in, but all they had available is the F10 M5, which I knew was out of my price point but since it's the same chassis I figured I could get an better understanding on if this was the type of car I was looking for. Well, I never got that understanding. The sales rep that went with me just had me drive around the block and come back. No chance to really see how the car feels or drives, hardly any opportunity to check out any features of the car. After the quick "test drive" I was brought right back in and sat down for payments even though I had made it EXPLICITLY CLEAR beforehand this is not the car I was looking for. When I told him I couldn't afford the payments, he simply reached out his hand and said "have a nice day." When I told him I was looking for a lower trim model he told me those were out of my price range too, even though I knew for a fact they weren't because I had been following the market for months. It made me feel embarrassed for even coming in, and I decided to do business elsewhere. This is the worst dealership! I'm from CA and am spoiled with the responsiveness and fantastic customer care I receive at Irvine BMW. I called approximately 3 weeks ago and literally called 7 times trying to get to the service department. The incompetent receptionist forwarded my call to every person and/or department not related to service. Out of immense frustration, I asked for the GM's voicemail. Of course, my call was again misrouted; this time to the service manager. He returned the call apologizing and ensuring this incident was an anomaly. Trying to give him the benefit of the doubt, I scheduled an appoint. Due to an emergency requiring me to go to CA, I missed the appointment. I tried calling to cancel but, of course, no response. I have left 2 voicemail messages this week with absolutely no response from the dealership. I left a voicemail at the Pleasant Grove dealership and received a response within 5 minutes so I scheduled an appointment there. Clearly, Pleasant Grove has much better management reflected by their responsive customer care. If BMW Murray can't even return voicemail messages, how can they be trusted to work on my cars???? I own 2 BMWs and will be replacing the 530i next year. I would drive to CA before ever considering this horrible dealership. read more

Disappointment doesn't even begin to summarize my experience with the BMW dealership in Murray, Utah. The customer service when purchasing a BMW X5 was horrid. The deal was finalized, parties agreed on all conditions and a deposit made! Instead of finalizing the paperwork and completing the sale transaction, l was told they decided to prioritize and sell this car to an employee because they wanted it over giving it to a customer that has already solidified the purchase. This was a horrible customer experience as this was a car I've been on the hunt for over a year, not a cheap purchase. Not sure if they disregarded me because of my accent and thought they could shuffle this to an employee without hesitation but I've never had such a disappointing experience. How can a company stop the transaction with a customer just because an employee wanted it? First time I found my dream car and was willing to do anything to get it and was dismissed and set aside. Spend time and prepping financials for this purchase. I do regret every second spend with BMW and have been left with a horrible feeling and taste in my mouth. I purchased a certified pre-owned car here (X3 with 30k miles) during the depths of the pandemic when everyone was stressed stressed stressed to the max. It was a quick sale and I was "up-sold" a clear coating for the paint during the final part of the sales process right before I paid. I believe the salesperson intentionally did not explain to me that I'd have to bring the car back for this to be applied as I was driving away with the car that very day and he knew I was under too much pandemic-related pressure to deal with bringing it back for this optional coating. I believe this as he never mentioned it to me and I asked several questions in which it could have been explained. Thus, I drove away without it ever having been applied. I only learned later that it needed to be done because someone else from BMW Murray called to let me know and asked when I'd be bringing it in for this treatment. By then I was 2k miles away in California so it wasn't possible anytime soon. This was dishonest and I'd personally never shop here again. I thought about this today because I now need a new car due to an accident and considered briefly returning here for another one ... I absolutely loved the car itself. But, no, I will not buy from this dealership again. Specifically I'd caution any single woman to steer very clear of this dishonest business. read more

We always use BMW of Murray for service on our car. The service department is fantastic. They send you a recording of the vehicle inspection, talk you through everything they are looking at and recommending, and they don't suggest things you don't need. Recently we came in specifically for brakes, and they told us we didn't need them. This feels unheard of since so many places want to upsell everything. Service is fast. They provided complimentary Lyft service while we waited. Highly recommend. read more

This is a review of the experience I had with BMW of Murray. I dealt with Ryan, the retail business manager. He has extremely amazing from the beginning to the end. I must begin by saying that I am quite a difficult customer requiring many options on the vehicle I wanted, as well as a remote customer almost 800 miles from him. He was very aggressive in terms of pricing with the vehicle that I found as his dealer with all the options I wanted. Unfortunately the vehicle with all the options I wanted was a special order by a customer. He continued to maintain contact with me was cordial and worked extremely hard to be even more aggressive on pricing for the vehicle I wanted. I've had issue with this dealership every.single.time. 1-detail so bad they didn't charge me 2- won't call you back, you have to hound your service person. 3- plan to wait at least 30min every time you come in. Even with a zero balance just to get your keys. 4- The employees are currently not wearing masks or asking patrons to *even though they have plenty of signs I love my BMW but I can not stand this specific dealership and do everything I can to avoid going there. When I asked about the masks the receptionist told me that inside employees don't have to wear them. Because enclosed spaces are safer?!? I don't believe her but it's what she said. read more

They nickel and dime you no matter how many cars you have purchased from them. Unfortunately, they own the BMW market in Utah. I will never buy another BMW because of how poorly they treat their customers. 10/12 UPDATE: From 1 to 3.5 Star! I respect a company that listens and strives to make it right! With a bit of effort I find myself feeling quite different than my original post. Lost in translation was that the gentleman who checked me in as I dropped of my car - was not the service writer who was following up with me. The guy at check-in is likely the source of my frustration. My service writer more than made up for his mistake. After understanding that small detail the service writer (Jeris) explained the touch up paint process IS covered by BMW, it just needed to be scheduled AND he wanted to throw in a full detail and provide a loaner car and pick up and drop off my vehicle....I felt "better" about it..but still frustrated. However - getting a call tot day from them and asking when I was going to book touch up and detail....made me feel warm n fuzzy! Businesses and people will make mistakes - it is always in how they handle them that matters most. Well played Jeris and BMW of Murray. Glad to know I'm dealing w a business that cares. Took my X5 in for service for oil consumption, paint touch up, and upholstery issues where the dash meets the windshield. All of which should be under warranty. The service writer told me they will have their detailing guy come in and fix small rock chips. I get a report telling me it was all done with the exception of the dashboard. Go figure - not covered by warranty - apparently these dashboards aren't built for things like sunshine hitting them. After lots of back n forth - and sharing my dismay - I pick up my car. Only to have the lady at the front desk tell me that the rock chip repair wasn't complete and I need to take it to their preferred body shop. What a joke. UPDATE: No one is wearing masks. They say they're mandatory, but inside the receptionist didn't wear a mask, and most of the employees were not wearing masks. Most customers were, but then they'd take them off. I love this dealership, I really do. But this blatant irresponsible behavior makes me never want to return. I have regretted buying my BMW in Los Angeles from day one. I have hated every service I've had to do, the employees couldn't care less and were obnoxious. Treated me like I was a stupid "woman" and talked down to me. Told me tons of lies...it was endless. Then! I moved to salt lake and I had to go in for a service and tires. I was dreading it. Every. Single. Employee. From the beginning to the end was AMAZING. I was kinda shell shocked. I mean I drove right in and was greeted by someone friendly! Who cared!! Then the tire guy matched the lowest price on tires. Then my service advisor was actually nice and honest! Seriously their service was what I originally expected of bmw! But I never ever got elsewhere! There was no red tape. No long waits. No inflated pricing. I had to go back for a flat tire just last week and it was the same quality! Can't say enough GOOD about this dealership. I've driven BMW's for over 20 years, and I've never had a better dealership experience. Ryan Rosenthal is the best and I love working with him. I've also been extremely impressed with their servicing department. Jeris Oberle has been a super star helping me when my car needs fixes. I've had nothing but positive experiences from top to bottom and will only work with this dealership for anything BMW related. Can't say enough good about BMW of Murray.
