If I could give 0 stars, I absolutely would. I've been to Mini of Ramsey twice now -- once during the summer of 2025 and again just last week. Both times I showed up on time for my appointment, hoping for a good experience. I was greeted (not in the most friendly or professional way) and told to sit in the waiting area. I waited... and waited... and no one ever came to update me on how long the wait would be or whether anyone was even going to help me. Meanwhile, I watched other customers walk in, get greeted, and receive service right away. To be honest, I left both visits feeling a certain way. I don't like to think this way, but I can't shake the feeling that my ethnicity played a role in how I was treated. I never like to feel different -- America is everyone's country, and my money is just as good as anyone else's. It's disappointing because I drove 45 minutes each way to get there, genuinely excited to test drive and possibly buy my dream Mini Cooper. I even emailed the dealership afterward to express my concern. All I got back was an apologetic voicemail and email -- but no real effort to make things right. At this point, I've accepted that Mini of Ramsey just isn't worth my time or business. I'll still find my dream Mini someday -- but it definitely won't be from them. read more

For years I loved the service provided at this dealership. But in the last year something changed. First, the service manager did not want to acknowledge that there might have been a connection between the service center fixing the convertible top and the rear window falling out two days later. Then on two subsequent hoccasions my car left the shop low on oil and the service manager was simply uninterested in looking at a video from another dealer that tested and diagnosed the car for excess oil use or leakage (and found no leakage and no excess use of oil). He was also totally uninterested in determining which mechanics serviced the car on those two occasions when the car left the shop low on oil and whether they had messed up. If the service manager doesn't care about whether his mechanics are doing sloppy work, why would I trust my car to them? I have not been back since. read more

First time i took my car they unscrewed a bolt from the stearing and spindle column and said its probly stripped n i need whole new part lies still same assbly no problems im also a mechanic they tought they could pull one secound time i had no choice to take because the jbe back ordered part and no one could get they couldnt put my old one back only thing not working was windshield wiper do to water damage after they diagnosed the problem they couldnt even get the car started they gave me someone ellses broken jbe they ripped out the wiring for my dash cam and said thts how it was they broke the plastics and didnt even acknowledged it i was stuck with a broken jbe i was charged about 2.5k for crank belt and belt tensioner plus what ever they made up for the jbe work to cover ther lost time i waited almost a year for the part n went back to get the piece swapped again they had issues unable to program the jbe said it was do to 3rd party radio finaly they figgered out a way i go get my car paying another 1.3k to only have wires hanging from the buttom of driver side for my obd connections the fuse box cover on the pessenger side isnt closing because bent and broken clips the side panel plastic clearly dammaged and not correctly positioned n broken parts but the worst my gear shifter collumn is out the whole thing slides under as you switch gears i am still at the dealer checking on all the things wrong with the car i tell the service manger and he blames me saying i broke as i show him its broken saying i jamed my finger n broke it infront of him as the piecs literally fall off then he asks me if i want him yo glue it back like are you fucking kidding me as i am complaining about what he is saying and the damage to my car he has the balls to suggest them i am under substance and that i am acting irrationally like are gucking kidding me again i had to explain how i am pissed and very rational as i came to havemy car fixed but being handed broken shyt dammage to my property he tells me things like im doing you a favor i didnt charge you for all the trouble with the jbe all the exra hours like he leagly can if he wanted witch he cant when the prices and times are fixed he can charge what ever for labor but the repair times are fixed meanin according to the job there is a set amount of hours they can charge for that job they cant charge u ten hours of labor for oil change for example he told he i can just yow my car if i want when they couldnt get it started the first time when i told them they are liable they try to make it like they are doin me a favor then the second time his like roads right there like ima leave with my car in the condition they left it they did not do me any favors they barely did there job they tryed to scam me they over charged me for things to cover there loses they threw blame on me for damges they created and took no responsibility...............n im not tryin 2 go back to a cell..ps.. my sunroof also doesnt work anymore it starts opening then about a inch it just vloses right back wont open anymore also just found more broken plastic parts as well as more programing issues where car wont show proper gas level and so forth.. read more

On Oct. 31 2024 We bought a 2018 Prius with 28,000 miles for approx. $25,000. It came with a 60 day warranty. On November 30 it wouldn't start without a jumpstart. After five jumpstarts we took it back to Mini of Ramsey where we bought it.The service department told us that the battery was defective and would cost around 425 to replace. Mike the manager, said that this was not covered by the warranty but he would pay for the labor reducing the cost to 225. My husband was forced to sign a nondisclosure contract before they would release the car. Mike told me that he would rescind his offer to pay for labor unless i agreed not write this review. I replied that nothing I would say was untrue and that if he didn't want negative reviews he should honor his warranty.. A defective/dead battery after 30 days for a $25,000 car is not covered by their warranty. Thats a pretty worthless warranty and the fact that they have a practice of holding cars hostage until a nondisclosure agreement is signed is indicative of a pattern of behaviour that is not honorable. Dishonest place Please read the negative reviews, they are real. maybe buying new cars here is okay but do not take your car here for service. I have been to many mini dealers and by far this has been my worst experience. I have spent about almost 1000 dollars for the service. And my car came out filthy with oil stains that won't come off. The manager said my car came in dirty which is totally untrue. It was raining on the day I came in, there were at most some dirt, but NO OIL STAINS. I just had the car cleaned professionally 3 days ago. No stains at all and I haven't drove the car until I take it to the dealer. I regret that I didn't take a picture of when my car was first returned to me because i had this type of stain all over the lower part of my car. They never even warned me about this and maybe just expected me to not notice and leave. They washed it twice but still there are left over stains that wouldn't come off. Their own viechale also has the same type of oil stain as shown in figure 4. My car was returned to me in similar condition. The manager said they wanted to take care of it but they won't admit that it's them that were causing this stain . They were just doing me a favor of taking the car to be detailed. I can not believe this type of customer service. I work in customer service and I would have never treated my customers like this. Please, if you mess up something, let your customer know and take full responsibility for it. Plus after the service, even if my engine light went off, the car is still experiencing performance issues. I should have never taken my car to this place and wasted 1000 dollars. I have absolutely no idea about what to do with the performance issue still. I have lost trust to this place because of how they handle things and I have doubts about even if they have performed the fix on my car. No such thing as 'customer service' AGAIN at this service locatoin. I had scheduled appt for a Tuesday - dropping off the car on Monday afternoon. I had a call on Tuesday letting me know what needed to be done....however I never heard back from 'customer service' despite a call on Wednesday and three calls on Thursday. The receptionist finally told me that my car was ready - however 'customer service' never informed me, never texted me and never called me. Such service is not new from this location and quite surprising seeing you wish me to be a 'customer for life'. This is service which is not up to standards for Mini/BMW brands and I hope you rectify. However I do not hold out much hope as this poor service has continued since my purchase. read more

I called them beforehand because my parents would be driving over 2 hours for us to go look at new cars for me to lease together. The person on the phone said they'd work with me and no worries, they had plenty of the car I wanted in stock. They even sent me a calendar invite confirming the appointment. My parents arrive and what? They claim they don't have anything under $30,000. When I argued that I saw some on their inventory list on their webpage, all of a sudden, oh yes, there it is (right on the show floor). (Also, online it showed at least 4-6 cars in stock under $30,000.) Then, the prices that they told me over the phone weren't "available". Also, they then state that the person I spoke to was a "call service" and they didn't know anything about the actual cars in the lot or what specials they had. So, it was a "waste" to call and bother talking to them. What. So, why bother having a phone number at all?! I expect most deals to be "scams" to get you into the store but this was ridiculous. Over 2-3 hours later, they were still "working out the pricing" and it was just a ridiculous amount of time to spend watching them crunch numbers. We opted to go to Fiat instead, and the salesperson began saying how Fiat's weren't as safe and "failed" safety tests while Mini was #1. Tried to get me to spend over $4000 on unnecessary repairs. The repair that was needed they quoted a price of $442. Went to Ramsey. I purchased 2017 Mini Cooper S around October 2016 at this dealer. Problem 1: now (11/22/2017) the engine light is on, engine is fine, technician said it could be due to system update so he is updating the system. This is the second time I went back there for the same problem, I hope i do not have to go back again! Problem 2: the trunk door won't open. When i was there, there was a problem with the trunk door not opening, that was fixed when i Purchased the vehicle, 3 months later, on a cold winter day, it happened again. I struggled 30 min to get the control to work and finally the door opened. Overall, my experience with Mini is that it's all looks but no substance. Engine sign came on after one year of purchase and i only drove 5000 miles! I have driven Infiniti, Toyota, Nissan, and Honda, so far Mini is the most disappointing because it has the most problems. read more

Whether buying a MINI or getting it serviced, this is the place. BUYING: They're not pushy & didn't pressure us into getting a Mini. We like their friendly yet hands-off approach when you're looking, but they're very helpful & courteous when you enlist their help. They gave us a (surprisingly) reasonable offer for our trade-in (unlike the one in Morristown who argued w/us for the trade & even played that stupid "what do I need to do to put you into that car right now" game). SERVICE: Prestige Ramsey is quite modern and spacious w/ample seating that are spread out (so you don't have to sit elbow to elbow w/other customers while waiting). We actually don't mind going in for service w/the free-Wifi, complimentary juices/coffe & bagels. Their mini shop is pretty cool as well. Plus, you get a free carwash whenever you swing by (and yes, even if you're not getting any work done, they'll still wash your Mini for free). The yelp pictures pretty much speak for themselves. Absolutely love love love my Mini Cooper! This is my third mini with them. The dealership is located in Mahwah and it's a very modern big open space which I love. They are pet friendly which is great. Love their events that they have for the Mini family. The front desk chicas are very professional and make you feel welcome. They have a nice lounge area where you can wait for your car if it's being serviced. Water, soda, and snacks are their for your choosing. Each department really does their best to take care of their customers. I recently got a new Mini and Terry was my sales rep. He is awesome! If you need a new car for either lease or finance - See Terry! He's your man! In the service department Ryan Patti has been taking care of me. The service department at this MINI dealership is infested with liars, scam artists and thieves. My wife took her MINI here twice for service before we became suspicious. While the diagnosis was correct, the repair, (which we were charged $1400 for)- never took place. After we picked up the car, we noticed the same issues were still affecting the car's performance. We took the car to our friend, who removed the part in question and was 100% certain that the part was NEVER replaced. I spoke with a few other MINI owners in the area who had very similar experiences with this dealership and warned us never to bring our car to this place. With that, we would like to WARN you! If you have a MINI, go ANYWHERE else to get it serviced. This place is a complete trash hole and the service manager should be arrested for fraud. Places like this give the MINI brand a terrible name. I love our car, but being scammed ruined the MINI experience for us. We won't buy another one and MINI of Ramsey is the reason why. read more

I leased my first MINI 2011 and purchased my second MINI in 2014. Each time Terry helped me find the perfect car and made both processes so easy. Most recently, I had someone cut into the convertible top of my car. Mark Mozdziez made the insurance process seamless. Sadly I've always loved mini of Ramsey until today. Went in for service and when they pulled up the key and told me what was wrong it was not for my complaint of why I was actually there. And that's when it all went down hill. He told me that the service light was on because I needed an oil change, when I just got one at my local oil change place but they didn't have the capability of updating the service light. He told me there would be a charge just to change the sensor on the light. Probably because I didn't give my money to theyfor an oil change. I felt like he was talking down to me. NO ONE at Prestige MINI has tried to contact me. The fact that they said they did is an absolute LIE! I repeat, NO ONE at Prestige MINI HAS TRIED TO CONTACT ME!!! All Derek Bruno had to do was HIT REPLY on my complaint email. Apparently he couldn't do that or figure out the very phone number they have been calling for the last 4 years. Instead, he lied. My husband also left a voicemail on Derek Bruno's direct line, leaving his cell number as the number to call back. I can only assume that was another phantom call Bruno made!! Prestige MINI never had any problems contacting me during my warranty period (now, & forever known as the suck up period). In addition, during this last visit, which was my first appointment after the warranty expired, it was confirmed that all my contact information was exactly the same as it has always been. They never made any effort to contact me. It has now been PROVEN that Prestige MINI not only SWINDLED ME into thinking that I needed an entire break job when I didn't, they ALSO LIED about changing my oil!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Prestige MINI charged me $1,500 for work that my car DID NOT NEED, as well as work that was never actually performed. It cost me another $1,000 to fix what they missed and what they LIED about doing. Everything they did is now called into question. If it were my integrity called into question, I would be falling all over myself trying to straighten this out. I had a service appointment this week and asked to rotate my tires since it hasn't been done yet. The car had 26,000 miles. I was told it's not part of the free service but they have a special at $99.00 to get that done. Imagine that? So rather than spending hours waiting for my free oil change, I left and went to a local STS where they change my oil (synthetic) for $59.99 and rotated my tires for under $20 bucks. Never again. Took my 2016 countryman in for a run-flat tire change and mentioned a code I wasn't worried about (repeat engine-substandard-power indicator only when low RPMs uphill, which has been read by now-closed dealership) and a clicking noise when slowly breaking downhill. They read the computer and charged me 200$ for an air filter because they used their computer scanner to diagnose low air intake. Clicking was diagnosed as an estimated $5k steering rack replacement. Didn't have on hand so I drove home and ordered for less than what they charge from a different dealership. Took with new steering rack to local shop specializing in BMWs and he started disassembly but found it was only inner tie rods, $180 each. Called Ramsey asking what they could help with (take the new OEM rack in return, based on your bad diagnosis?) and the man on phone wouldn't, and called in the tech about the misdiagnosis. Stood by the diagnosis specifically contradicting what local said (about observed condition of parts), including stating that there was steering fluid leaking inside the rack. It's an electric power steering mechanism, not hydraulic. Avoid. Get a good local diagnosis, then order parts. Minidirect will accept the return, but at a 20% restock fee. :( read more

The service people are responsive and they try to work with you to economize wherever possible...because the dealer service prices are HORRIBLE, and they know it. When shopping for my MINI, I first checked out a couple of dealers on Long Island, one with a good reputation, the other, not so good. The one with the "good" reputation held, for me, a dour showroom, a gloomy, apathetic salesman, dishonesty about the then-current national promotions, and a guilt-trip tactic to try to get me to close. Fortunately, a friend who was also shopping for a MINI, told me to check out Prestige. The mood at Prestige was strikingly different. Everyone was happy to help. Customers were excited to buy their cars. My salesperson was very peppy, went with me on the test drive, showed me the MINI's idiosyncrasies (kinda necessary if you haven't driven one before), and answered my questions without any protest. At no time did I feel any pressure to buy, and I returned a few days later to sign the paperwork and pick up my new car. My salesperson even went out of her way to pick me up from the Chevy dealer where I had only just dropped off the car I had been leasing. The purchase process, overall, was very positive, and I would recommend them to anyone considering a MINI. Prestige also has other dealerships for different brands (their new MINI showroom is now next to their BMW one), so I'd extend the same recommendation for any brand they carry. Service is a very smooth process, especially at the new location. I drive up to the check-in by the side door, hand over my key, and the attendant checks me in. I go inside, talk to the service reps, and everything gets sorted out quickly. If the car is in for more than a few hours, they will give me a loaner (I've only opted for this once), otherwise, the waiting area is very pleasant, especially compared to any other place I've seen, replete with reading materials, coffee, tea, breakfast snacks, TV's, even iPad loaners! This place is top notch in my experience thus far. read more

Every time I'm in for service they wash my car - and are super friendly. However, when you are outside your service agreement and warranty - service here is very expensive! I attempted to return a leased mini that I had leased through Westchester Mini (whole other story why I don't lease from Prestige.. worst sales department. I thought It was more convenient than driving to White Plains boy was I wrong. I had the independent inspection that was requested by Westchester, thought it would be accepted at Prestige. After wasting my thirty minutes the lease "specialist" nit picked my return car. What started out as a $300 and a $350 disposition fee became an $1150 fee, she said she was doing me a favor. It took me all of 5 minutes to leave. 20 minutes later I walked into Westchester, greeted warmly and told no problem. They even waived the disposition fee because I lease another Mini as well. I now know where to go for better service. Two bad experiences with Prestige, I won't be back A follow up on my lease return, I received the final bill from Mini Corporate which decides the amounts to be paid ... $229.08.
